Oishii Japanese Bistro

We came from far away because of the reviews on Google and I have to say Oh My Goodness!!! The flavor and the taste is just unreal. I highly recommend this place. Server Roberta was phenomenal at serving!

First time here and we were pretty happy. Everything was presented really well, there wasn't any fishy smell, and everything tasted super fresh. We ordered ALOT! Dragon eggs for starters were awesome! We ordered chicken yakisoba, tuna/mango roll, Philadelphia roll, Tropical roll, firefly, omg, and sweetheart. I also had some pieces of salmon belly, scallop, and baby yellowtail. We also had a spice krab salad. Everything was awesome! Ordered some fried banana for dessert that has a honey drizzle on it with a side of chocolate syrup to dip then in. So simple but so good. Food was fairly expensive but that's what you get from a place that flies in fresh fish 3-4 times a week. Service was great, our waitress had some pokemon halloween packs that she handed out to our kids which was really nice!

We really liked Oishii! We got a good variety of dishes to try since it was our first time there. We got the miso and mushroom soup, shrimp dumplings (delightful) and crab rangoons to start with. Then we got a few rolls and sashimi. The tuna sashimi was so delicious! We also tried a few cocktails and they were good as well. Our server was friendly and attentive. Food came out fast. Their dining room is not very big. We were told we didn’t need a reservation when we called earlier in the day on Friday but when we showed up there were only two tables left so we snagged one of course.

Delicious and fresh sushi, beautifully presented and very nice variety offered. Really loved the tiger shrimp and chicken yakitori appetizers....a must try! Huge portions, friendly and attentive service in a warm and nicely renovated space in d/t Powell.

My bf was finding somewhere to introduce me to sushi & we happened upon this place. We’ve been 6 times in two months bc it’s THAT good with THAT great of service! Prices are pretty reasonable with the quality & flavor. The staff are super friendly & love to chat! -Anytime I’ve gotten sushi from anywhere else, it does not compare! My sushi standards have been set very high thanks to this place. Highly recommend! :)

Absolutely amazing sushi!! Nice window seat in the center of Powell square. My kids got to sit at the bar and watch it get made. The Hawaiian roll is a must try. Coconut shrimp wrapped in mango and avocado topped with a cilantro coconut sauce! Yummy! One of the best rolls I’ve ever had!

Tried this place for the first time today, and I really liked it! I had the green wish roll and the vegetable/sweet potato special roll from the board (I can't remember the name). They were both really good but my favoritewas the veggie/sweet potato roll. I also had the fried bananas (yum) and ordered the tofu Inari roll to go.

Service was great and friendly. Parking options aren't great, but I'd come back here.

Freshest sashimi in the Columbus area. I ordered the chirashi bowl. A lot of fish in the area is only mediocre in quality. I got nice large slices, very fresh, presented beautifully.

The futomaki I ordered was delicious as well.

We had a party of four and had a great time. It had a very laid back atmosphere. The decor was lovely. My company ordered handmade crab rangoons, a California roll, Godzilla roll, and Hawaiian roll. I got the scallop, salmon belly and madai sushi. The scallop and salmon belly were amazing! Brianna helped us every step of the way and was very polite.

Had dinner here with friends for the first time and it was amazing! Blew any expectations I had out of the water and straight into orbit! Every roll was phenomenal, not a single bad one in the bunch. We all agreed it's now our favorite sushi spot in Columbus and will be back in the future, hopefully with even more people we can introduce to it. Oishii, indeed!

Visiting from out of town and had dinner for a friends birthday. Fantastic service and meals. Nothing disappointed from the miso soup to the numerous rolls to the fried ice cream for dessert (on the house for the birthday girl). Very clean and professional. Awesome large menu, there is something for everyone here.

My fiancé and I LOVE sushi and this was seriously the best we’ve had. You can’t have a bad thing here. Everything is fresh, unique, and delicious. The service was great and the menu was phenomenal! The place looked very nice and the presentation of all of their was really good too. We will come back every chance we can. SOOOOOOO GOOD! 😍

Family owned! Excellent food and attention to detail! I asked for custom sushi, the owner and his wife said yes. Outstanding! This is a must and so happy to have quality sushi in Powell.

Love this place ! Great sushi - it’s takes a minute to get served if they’re busy . Come relaxed and have a beverage while you wait - it’s worth it !

I have been to Oishii many times, and have yet to be dissatisfied. Oishii consistently delivers excellent food, in a warm environment with great service, making it one of our go to restaurants 😀. This trip was no exception. Their Crab Rangoon is amazing, and on this particular visit the mushroom soup and OMG Specialty roll took the cake. Cannot recommend Oishii enough.

Woah I am so glad I finally got to stop by here with a friend! The whole atmosphere is so fun from the Pokemon at the bar area, to the sushi bar, and overall decoration of the place. They had a little rush going on but we were greeted quickly and sat pretty fast. My favorite was that Brianna had a little cheat sheet menu she had taken the time to mark what was popular, her personal favorites, new items, vegetarian options! It was so helpful and I've never seen a place do that before with such a personal touch.
We went with the calamari for an appetizer and the sauce combined with it was some of the best I have ever had. For an entree we got the seashore rolls! Seriously best sushi to ever grace my taste buds, me and my friend couldn't stop gushing about how tasty it was. For an entree I got chicken Yakisoba, she did warn the plates and serving size was huge and I was not disappointed! The flavor was delicious and so filling and the chicken was divine. The miso soup that came with the entree was also very delicious and I love that there was no skimping on the tofu! And the salad was perfect and so refreshing to eat, nice and cold and crisp, and the dressing came in chilled little glasses which I had never seen before but really added a nice touch to the salad! Also loved the lo-fi music they played made for a nice calm and rejuvenating lunch :) I'm so glad they choose Powell as there location, I can not wait to come back!

We loved it!

Walking in, you see a beautiful and comfortable dining area. The menu has a nice variety of appetizers, soups and salads, sushi, and kitchen dishes, all along with several vegetarian options. They even have a few kinds of desserts to pick from!

We ordered their green tea (with a special rice brewed in it, which is new to me!) that we loved, calamari, mushroom soup, two specialty rolls and a traditional roll, the veggie yakisoba and the seafood yaki-udon! Everything was fresh; it tasted light but was so filling, thanks to the healthy portions.

Despite being full to the brim, I ordered fried bananas which were also very light and delicious, with a drizzle of honey on the top!

Come check this place out; you won’t regret it!

This evening my husband and I drove around getting one sushi roll per sushi place and got up to 7 places. By far, this place was the best!! Not only the price, not only the service but THE sushi!!! Amazing! And let's take a moment to talk about the dragon eggs ..... Wow!!! Highly recommend as the best sushi we've found in Columbus to date.

This is one of the best sushi places in the area! The food was incredible: fresh, balanced flavors, and delicious!

The service was also impeccable. Our server was friendly, talked with us, and recommended things for us to try. She also kept drinks full, cleared the table regularly, and made sure we felt welcome and comfortable.

Absolutely plan on going back!

I thought that I was too old and jaded to be surprised by sushi. I was wrong. From the perfect edamame and miso soup to the spicy scallop hand roll, and on to the Hawaiian roll - my eyes widened with delight. The sashimi, though, was jaw-dropping. The salmon belly and the Madai make you wonder if you’re still in Ohio, and both were served with actual freshly grated wasabi!!! If you need to feel the enthusiasm of your very first experience of top-notch sushi run, don’t walk, to Powell.
