El Abuelito Family Mexican Restaurant

I knew we had picked out a fine place in Jackson for some Mexican food when we arrived at about 20pm on a weekday afternoon and the place was still busy. Seated immediately, and a server came by and took our orders, leaving us with some chips with salsa AND pico de galo. My wife had the Burrito Fajita (pic) and I had the Seafood Burrito (pic.) Both dishes were excellent, the service was fast and courteous.

And, as you know, I give marks for the condition of restroom facilities in my reviews. Am pleased to say that then men's room was tidy (even at this mid afternoon hour, and my wife reported the women' room was equally clean.

The food was very tasty. It wasn't too busy for a Friday night, they got us in in just a few minutes.

My partner and I were looking for a comfort meal during our stay in Jackson Hole and this place was exactly what we wanted. I got chicken enchiladas and my partner got the chicken fajita burrito-both types of chicken were full of flavor and very tender. I also got a small house marg and it was delicious. They also give cabbage with the chips and salsa, which is my favorite! The staff was very kind and attentive. This has so far been my favorite meal in town and by far the most affordable. Would highly recommend!

The chips and salsa were delicious, spicy and very authentic. I ordered the taco salad with green ground beef, which was small, but delicious, and my husband got the Molé enchiladas, which were a bit sweet, but his dish was a very great size. Overall, amazing meal amazing Mexican meal and Jackson hole. Highly recommend. Margaritas came in three sizes small, medium and jumbo, and the jumbo size is the size of your head..

Quaint Mexican place. Shredded beef tacos were good. Chicken enchilada with mole sauce was excellent. The sauce was unique and on the sweeter side. Chips were very fresh and well made. Salad salsa - shredded cabbage, cilantro, tomatoes, jalapeno pepper- was amazing! Never had that kind of dip for chips. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Very nice environment and service, delicious Mexican food and a reasonable price.
Loved the fact that when you seat down you immediately get basket of tortilla chips and dip.
We ordered medium blended margarita, it was huge and so good!
We also had enchiladas and tostada and it was so good with perfect amount of cheese and beans.

Friendly service, good food and freshly made tortillas. What else can you ask for? Had the Pollo de Crema last time. Delicious dish I have not had elsewhere.

Busy place and when it's busy you know it has to be good. Chips, salsa, Pico, and water served as soon as we were seated. Huge menu with large selection. Our waiter, Jorge, was busting his butt to serve the entire room we were in so I assume they are short staffed like everyone else. Even with the room full, we still got our portions and serviced in a reasonable amount of time. Overall great food and atmosphere.

Wonderful service. THANK YOUUUUUUU ALFONSO!!!!!!!!!!!! You are exceptional. Our meal was so good, really! I am vegan, and Alfonso HOOKED me up!!!!!! Beans beans beans. Love it. Beans, salsa, guacamole? = happy girl. That salsa, though. Very spicy, very very good. Just quality Mexican food, extensive menu, nothing fancy, great prices.
Overall, what made our dinner so pleasant was Alfonso’s attentiveness, efficiency, kindness, generosity, & skill. He is a fantastic server/employee, and it’s obvious he’s an outstanding gentleman.

One of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. The food tasted amazing. The staff was friendly. The Lunch was quick but Dinner came late due to staff shortage.

Margaritas were delicious! Carne Asada was so good along with rice and beans. Chile Rellenos good as well. Family friendly atmosphere.

I was sitting there for a minute before getting attended but other than that, the flavors were delicious. Imo, the shrimp would be better grilled rather than steamed but would still order again. I got the Diablo Shrimp, spicy 5/10 but flavor profile was 9.5/10. Enchiladas were 10/10 and their salsa is also fire. Rice and beans were honestly something I was craving and it did not disappoint.

*Came again. It was more packed but they had immediate service. Tried their dinner combo and the amount of delicious food you get for less than $20 is crazy.

I got the combination platter. It was great. Excellent flavor, choices, and a lot of food.

The service was excellent. We recommend it to everyone.

We had planned on eating at a different place but it was too busy so we ate here. So glad we did!! The tacos al carbon were excellent!!

The service was great, and the food was excellent. We went in at about 2 pm on a Thursday, so it was not at all busy. They served us ice water, chips, salsa and a kind of slaw. The salsa was a bit too spicy for me, but the slaw was delicious, and the chips were perfect. We ordered the cheese dip, and it was brought out in a cast iron dish. It was white cheese with peppers, and more chips. We rarely finish an appetizer, but the cheese dip was so good we couldn't quit!
I had the Chicken Fajita Burrito, which contained chicken, onions and bell peppers. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked, with just the right amount of melted cheese on top. The refried beans and rice that were included were also delicious. My spouse had a ground beef burrito, and it also came with beans and rice. He didn't leave a bit on his plate, and talked about how well seasoned it was as we walked back to our rental.
The only "negative" thing I can say is that there was no music, which detracted from the atmosphere, for us. All of those dining were seated in the same area, and the seating is fairly close. With no music, it was so quiet that the people at the tables to our right and left could easily hear our conversation. Otherwise, El Abuelito was in our top two dining experiences during our vacation. Highly recommend!

Super fast service (12:30pm on a weekday). Had our food about 30 minutes from walking into the restaurant. Food is hot and fresh. Very impressed. The cabbage pico de gillo is unique and very good. You can get a small to-go order (approx 16-20oz) for $5. Second picture in the crema a la pollo, lunch edition. Very good, fast, fresh, affordable. I just wish there were more pictures of food offered on the menu. I'm unfamiliar with most of the food so I'm not sure what new thing I want to try next.

Great food and great service, I visited the first time two years ago and as soon we arrived to Jackson Hole we went back for more, surprisingly one of the waiters remembered us from 2021, amazing place. Highly recommend.
