Mary's Old Fashioned Pit Bar-B-Que

I been all thru the southern states trying authentic bbq , this is the best place and most authentic bbq I ever had ! Staff is super friendly , incredibly authentic ! I can't say enough . Food was unreal ! I rarely give 5 stars but this was a no Brainer!

The pig feet always needs salt but it's still my favorite place to get it in Nashville.

It a really great place to eat bbq,..plus other great things to eat.....they have been around for awhile,, do more advertising for the place.

Delicious, perfectly made pork shoulder. Sides taste like the most delicious home food. Dine-in was not open the day I was there, but the service at the window was kind and efficient.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mary's Old Fashion Bar-B-Que Pit, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience! From the moment I ordered, I was greeted by "The Fun Crew" that provided service that rivaled Chick-fil-A.

Nonetheless the real star of the show was undoubtedly the fish sandwich. It was hands down the most flavorful sandwich I have had in Nashville, and it came with all the fixings - pickles, onions, hot sauce, and mustard - that added just the right amount of zing to the dish.

Overall, my visit to Mary's Old Fashion Bar-B-Que Pit was a five-star experience, and I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for delicious food, and excellent service. It's clear that the team at Mary's puts a lot of love and care into their food, and it definitely shows in every bite.

Love stopping here when were passing through Nashville! I had the shoulder sand w/slaw soooo good!!

There isn't a place to sit. That's not why you come to Mary's. There isn't much to say about the specific area, or the building this drive in is located at. That isn't why you come to Mary's either. If you want one of the best pulled pork sandwiches around, and friendly faces that love serving it up for you, that's why you come to Mary's! I hope to be back to try more of the menu soon.

Super fantastic food and the people and service make u feel like u had just gotten back to ur home where ur parents still live. They make u feel warm and welcomed. I would recommend 100% if u like and want good old fashioned food with a warm inviting atmosphere. Ms Mary's is the place for u. Actually can't wait till I can get back to Nashville so I can swing by and grub out!!😃😉😜🤪 Excellent food and service. I just can't say enough good about the whole experience!! Fantastic!!

Great and cheap bbq would eat here again and again

This place was featured on the "Man Fire Food" show. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich on cornbread, and the rib tips. Both were superb. She needs to make it known that the restaurant was featured on that show. Even get a picture of the host to place on the establishment. I'm from Louisville KY and will recommend Mary's to all going to Music City. Way to go Mary's.

The food was very good!! The staff was super friendly!! We were very pleased over all definitely making a trip back from Indiana to come here again.

Sad to see all the negative reviews. I loved Ms. Mary... I ate there regularly for 25 years. You couldn't touch her Shoulder Sandwich dipped hot + coleslaw. If the son can't keep up the quality he needs to hire someone who can really cook and has restaurant expertise. I hope Mary's secrets were recorded for posterity...I pray that when I return to Nashville I will be able to relive the Barbeque love of my life.

This is the real deal. This is what we came to the south to eat. Accept no substitutes.

Pretty good place me a few guys rode our motorcycles their last night, it was late so the menu was limited but it was all delicious. Chicken, ribs, beans, mac and cheese you name it great time.

They been popping for a while and there still the best with there to get more sauce my favorite place for ribs and I can tell stories about this place great rib tips got to try if never had.

Have loved Mary’s since the first time I ate there in 1974. Some of the best ribs to ever cross human lips. The shoulder will bring anyone with taste buds back to get more.

I’m sitting in Ohio wanting bbq and think of the best ever. Mary’s BBQ circa 1994. My boyfriend and I would go around 3 am., The line of people waiting for BBQ was the best. Lots of laughter hugs from strangers. The pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw pickles . Soaking up the best sauce with the generous amount of bread. YUM. Do you ship? Lol. I think Mary worked there at that time. Correct me if I’m wrong but seems she was front and center at the window.Thank you for the wonderful memories.

Traveling from El Paso, Texas driving through to the East Coast, heard about Mary's Old Fashion! Took the time to make a visit and we were hungry! Two Specials, one Rib PLATE and PIGS FEET later . . . we eat every bite and we were so happy we stopped at Mary's. The best Barbeque, delicious HOT sauce, fantastic sides and those pigs feet are so tender and flavorful! We highly recommend the trip!! RIVERA FAMILY

I have been eating at Mary's since I was a kid, when the old Farmers Market was still open. A long time. The Ribs on white bread (Hot) is what I get (get extra bread). As for the rest of the menu I don't know. I love Nashville smoked BBQ. Try it all over town the sauce will be different the smoking is what makes our BBQ. Love it!!!!!

Update: This place has went way down hill. I can't recommend this garbage anymore. The last 3 times were terrible. Hard crusty ribs dry tasteless shoulder. And it gave me diarrhea. I'm scared to give them another chance.

Great food. For the best service, go when the owner/son is there.
