Peg Leg Porker BBQ

What a great place, and delicious food. No line to order at counter. Give them your name. Pick your food up and find a table. Lots of room lots of selections. Plenty of items to go. Smoked chicken and barbecue nachos. Absolutely delicious. Great time at the Gulch.

Fantastic BBQ pork options. The half rack was a perfect option if you don't want to eat heavy and the near wasn't unnecessarily fatty. The rub was delicious and the available sauce was an ideal flavor for the ribs. The baked beans were much better than most BBQ places I've eaten. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. If you're walking, it's about 20 minutes from the heart of downtown through an area that isn't well lit so going in a group will feel more comfortable to get to this large hole-in-the-wall eatery.

Great BBQ in Nashville. Their ribs are better than Martin's. They also have something called Kool aid pickles, which I have not tried but thought it was interesting. Great portions for the price. Their hot BBQ sauce is actually hot so take caution when adding it to your food. Ate here twice in while in Nashville for a few days.

I walked in a few minutes after noon with maybe 8 people in line ahead of me. The register took my order fast and handed me a cup for the self-serve beverage bar. I was barely done filling my tea before my food was called up.

Food came out hot and tasty. Warning! The hot bbq sauce is actually pretty hot compared to some others I’ve tried.

I had the pulled pork platter with baked beans coleslaw. Everything was good.

The banana pudding was a bit lacking. For $4 it was a bit small and only had 3 slices of banana and 2 Nilla Wafers. I was hoping for something more for the price.

Otherwise, I’m pretty happy with the experience.

There were less people when I just arrived before 5pm on Saturday. I ordered ribs and chicken wings covered with BBQ source. Actually their chickens were great I really liked them. Staffs were kind and friendly. They sell T-shirts that are good for gifts.

I'm not sure how anyone could give this restaurant a review below 5 stars. The BBQ food here is freaking amazing. & this is an extremely difficult task to accomplish in Nashville, TN where BBQ food is king. But Peg Leg has seriously made their mark. The atmosphere is what you would expect from your favorite local BBQ and the drinks are also pretty good but let's be honest.... you're coming here for the BBQ. While just about everything and I do mean everything on the menu is delicious, the dry rub ribs are on another level! If you're in Nashville and want to put my review to the test I have no doubt that you'll be thanking me.

Located near the Gulch you'll find some slamming ribs. The ribs are a tasty dry rub and the meat was tender. They also provide BBQ sauce for additional flavor. The Mac and cheese and the Cole slaw are some of the best I've ever had.

This was truly fantastic, flavorful Nashville BBQ! The smoked fried chicken thigh had a kick in that crisp breading, and was moist and tasty all the way through. Pulled pork sandwich was packed and stack with delicious meat and crispy coleslaw- that with potato salad, mac n cheese and baked beans- the perfect casual lunch and a great value! down to the great music and welcoming staff- we will be back!

Our local friends recommended this place for a reason. Damn good food and reasonable price. The dry rubbed ribs were goood and I can vouch for that as a aficionado.

This was an incredibly good experience. The atmosphere and vibe was on point! One of the workers was cleaning up the tables and dancing; made us smile and a great intro to Peg Leg! The food was excellent! I especially liked the dry rub. One of the best bites of barbecue I've ever had. Especially the pulled pork. It was incredibly tender and melted in my mouth. The smoky flavor was the chef's kiss. The Mac n cheese was not your average mac n cheese. It was slightly smoky and had a little bit of a kick, mouth watering! The ribs were tender but also had a little bit of a bite to it, which I like. The half chicken with the dry rub...moist and delicious! The barbecue sauce was outstanding. The banana pudding was delicious! The vanilla waffers at the bottom....yum! This place was amazing 10/10.

Authentic and delicious. The pulled pork is the stand out. Ribs are also delicious with a a great dry rub. Jumbo chicken wings are delicious. Get the buffalo sauce on the side and then you have best of all worlds - dry, buffalo and BBQ (from the sauce station). Bannana pudding is also excellent. Atmosphere is industrial authentic. Great place.

Terrific bbq in Nashville that friends recommended. Chill local vibes and good food, not expensive. Loved my pulled pork sandwich! Recommend!

I’ll be honest it’s my second visit to Nashville and PLP bbq wasn’t on my radar, I’m more an Edleys and brisket type of guy!

However my wife and I were at a brewery round the corner and she insisted we give it ago! Well, what an idiot I was! and my wife was right, the place is fantastic!!

No problem in mixing the food choices, awesome staff, great beer selection.

Sausage was delicious
Pulled pork was super juicy and tasty
The ribs, best I’ve ever tasted, love the dry rub
Drink the kool aid… pickles 🥒 delicious
Pork rinds or scratchings as we say in England were extremely tasty
Both sides were great and the banana pudding was “bostin” < look it up 😉

Definitely be back before we go home 👍

If I could give them 5 more stars I would. Their dry rub is method is excellent. The Mrs and I shared a rack of ribs, pulled pork, 4 chicken wings, Mac n cheese, green beans, potato salad, kool-aid pickles, baked beans, banana pudding and two cups of water. Every thing was cooked perfectly and will having me dreaming about my next trip to Nashville

Reviews on-line did not disappoint. Dry ribs were delicious as were the beans and Mac and Cheese. Service by Brittany was friendly and very fast for drinks and food. I highly recommend this if you are in Nashville.

Oh man the Mac and cheese was amazing, fries crispy, chicken cooked perfectly and amazing flavor. Service was super fast for the chicken , they were out of all the pulled pork dishes which was disappointing but you can't have it all right. Definitely recommend! Plus they are dog friendly and let u take ur pup in to order, and have a nice covered patio to eat at once you get your food

You can't visit Nashville without having some of the best BBQ that you will ever eat!!!! Their ribs are my favorite! And if you like Mac and cheese, get 2 sides because it's incredible!!! My husband loves their pulled pork and beans! Make sure to grab some soul potatoes to share, you won't regret it! Makes my mouth water just doing the review!

Delicious food and good service . You order inside and you can sit wherever you want. Outside you have a good view of Nashville buildings . I really recommend this place , is not far from downtown and the prices are decent. I will come back for sure .

Excellent representation of TN BBQ. Ribs are seasoned really well, and they really don’t need a sauce. I ate about half dry and half with the mild sauce. The mild sauce knocked some of the bite of the dry rub down a notch and gave it a bit more balance.

The sides were recommended by the counter staff and both were excellent. Baked beans and mac and cheese are both good. The Mac and cheese is very creamy with big shells.

It’s an extremely casual restaurant so come as you are.

Get in line and grab a seat, or just sit directly at the bar. The line was long but moves fast and I had my food within a minute or two of ordering.

Recommendation: share a half rack and grab a pork sandwich or the wings.
