King Family Vineyards

Since the very first time I ever visited (which was before my husband & I even started dating), I knew I wanted to get married at King Family Vineyards. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, and the facilities are equally gorgeous. In learning more about the amenities they offer, we knew this was the wedding venue of our dreams!

Juan and the rest of the Events team made planning a breeze. They were prompt in answering any questions we had, and their professionalism & experience in event planning was evident in their responses to us. They also provided an extensive list of preferred vendors, which was my North Star in planning - though we had a day-of coordinator, we found all of our vendors ourselves, and I always started with this resource from King's when looking for who to hire. With regards to the wine selection, our tasting was so fun, and we didn't have to worry about running out of anything during the actual event since they were available to pull any additional bottles we needed.

Financially, they were very transparent about what was included before the contract was even signed - there were no surprise fees or hidden venue "upgrades" that would have costed extra. We also appreciated how much flexibility we had in what vendors we selected, which ultimately allowed us to stay within our budget. Many of the vineyards we looked into in the Central VA area have strict requirements about outside vendors, especially with catering, which can add up quickly in addition to what they charge for the venue, but with King's, we had a lot of autonomy in these decisions. They also provided their wines at a discounted rate and bought back any unopened bottles we didn't use or want to take home.

My biggest suggestion is to book as soon as you can, especially if you want a fall wedding! Their calendar fills up fast just because they're such an incredible venue. I also want to mention that we got married in mid-November post-daylight savings, and though I was initially concerned about this timing (first because of the foliage and second we had our ceremony at 4:30 pm before the winery closed), we luckily had beautiful weather with a colorful backdrop, and the time of day didn't end up mattering at all. We are still getting rave reviews and compliments from our guests about how magical our venue was!

Overall, having our wedding at King Family Vineyards was absolutely a dream, and I would give them more than 5 stars if I could. Thanks a million for making our wedding so enchanting and memorable, King's!

My cousin had their wedding at KFV, and it was enchanting! It was very clean and chic. The staff was courteous and proficient. My favorite thing was the mountain views. Simply stunning. I can't wait to return in the summer to see it in bloom.

We had the pleasure of photographing Emily & Brian's wedding here and just love the amount of great locations on site for photos! We can't wait to come back in the future!

Gorgeous grounds, delicious wines, and the best wine tour ever! Tom taught us so much! His education of the King Family and the science behind making the wine truly exceeded all expectations!! He truly was the highlight and science to the most memorable day. 10 stars to Tom! Although polo has finished for the season, we got the opportunity to watch a practice and experience the ambience of the gorgeous horses, grounds, & wines. We visited multiple wineries yesterday, the King Family Vineyards was by far the best!!! Highly recommend!!!

We attended a wedding here and it was absolutely gorgeous! In the fall, it could not have been a more beautiful venue. The bartenders were out of this world - they always remembered our drinks! While the vineyards were open to the public at the same time our wedding was going on, there was plenty of space so that our party still felt secluded and private.

Today we had the privilege of visiting the King Family Vineyards and were able to immerse ourselves in the art of winemaking. In addition to an excellent tasting, we were given a first-hand explanation of how such a delicious wine is grown and how much work is involved. Many thanks to the King family and the whole team for the great experience! Highly recommended for anyone who values excellent wines and wants to enjoy them in a beautiful setting.

Beautiful setting and a beautiful day for a wonderful wedding between two amazing ppl. Bartenders and servers were all really sweet and attentive. The eggplant dish was really good but a bit salty for my taste.

Arrived mid afternoon on a hot summer day with friends, their kid and our dog. No dogs were allowed inside but there was ample room of seats with shade. We found a picnic table along the back of the patio. The staff was friendly, the wine was amazing as well. The property is amazing. They had plenty of options of gifts and food to enjoyed. We had the pretzel sticks with everything bagel hummus. I feel like if it was busy, you could still enjoy your time without becoming overwhelmed. I highly recommend and will be back to this vineyard to watch one of their polo matches!

Beautiful winery with great views of the mountains and even better wine! My wife and I will definitely be back!

Large estate with beautiful grounds and facilities. The polo grounds and paddock add to the awesomeness of this vinyard. There is plenty of good wine for all palates. There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors.

We visited on a windy and chilly day, so we were unfortunately not able to enjoy the spacious outdoor area or explore the expansive grounds as we would have liked.

We took refuge in the warm and cozy tasting room in front of the fireplace. It was the perfect setting to warm up and enjoy our self guided red tasting.

We must have caught the guided tasting room manager, a well loved tabby cat, on a union break! We love seeing cats wherever we go, so this was a highlight.

Even though we adore our reds, we especially loved the Crozet wine. Like a favorite pair of blue jeans, it is timeless and goes with everything!

We're looking forward to returning, in warmer months, to see a polo March and enjoy a vineyard and winery tour.

We had an amazing tour & tasting with Tom! He was extremely knowledgeable and made the experience top notch!

My husband and I were on a couples retreat with OHF and we all had such a fun time, the atmosphere was amazing and the wine was fantastic! Thank you for the wine tasting and the tour!

I've photographed two weddings here over the years and you really can't beat the scenery out in the meadow behind the reception space - the sunsets over the mountains are epic. Definitely don't sleep on the chance to drive out to some other parts of the property during golden hour! The reception hall is also really beautiful and spacious. My main photo tip from experience would be to make sure you take into account about sun position when setting up your ceremony since there's no shade. Get an app that shows you where the sun will be on your day and make sure it's behind you instead of really bright on one of you and shadowy on the other. Can't wait to be back! ig @smackthatbird

Such a beautiful, family friendly property. We did an in-person tasting of five different wines and the staff member who helped us was very knowledgeable and super welcoming. It was hard to choose which ones to take home, but we picked 4 out of the 5. We will definitely be returning to watch one of the Polo matches they have on the property.

Oh my gosh so much fun! The winery is beautiful!! They have a fantastic patio area that is huge that holds tons of people in addition they have a barn area where all of the horses are kept that also has a sitting area out there as well. The wine was excellent and the service was phenomenal.I look forward to returning with my teams to celebrate another occasion soon

This is such a fantastic wedding venue! I photographed a wedding here in August, and the mountain views made this such a beautiful location. I loved photographing portraits near the horse barn on the property, and this is the perfect wedding venue to take advantage of sunset over the blue ridge mountains!

Great wines! Lots of snack options! Plenty of seating! Beautiful views! Even a winery cat!
