Hazy Mountain Vineyards & Brewery

Beautiful location, loads of parking, family friendly, great food, and not fussy. People moan about having to collect your food and take it to your table, but we enjoyed that relaxed and casual experience , while being able to enjoy it with such amazing view. Too many places like this are pretentious and intimidating, but not this place. I’d happily go again if I lived In the area!

This winery is a piece of Italy in the beautiful mountains of VA. I read previous reviews and from doing some research it’s seems like the locals didn’t want something like this here. Well…I like the evolution and change in the area. The food is amazing…especially the flatbreads. The wine selection is very good and this place had some of the best reds in the region. They offer beer as well so how could you not like that everything is here? The views of the rolling hills of vineyards are spectacular. We went near sunset and it was breathtaking. Staff was attentive and very friendly. I would recommend you go.

Now that we’ve discovered this gorgeous winery, we’ve become regulars! The mountaintop views are outstanding and overlooking the rolling vineyards below. Beautiful sunsets! Also, many choices of wines, beer and food to keep your tastebuds happy. My favorite is the 2018 Chardonnay. Service has always been good and friendly. Plenty of inside and outside seating.

I visited this vineyard May of 2024. The customer service here was superb with Adam and other staff members we encountered. Adam even volunteered to take pictures of us outside the vineyard with the beautiful view and brought our food to us. We also did tasting with him.

The building and view are outstanding. It would be a beautiful location for a wedding or event. They have a very nice place to sit and eat their food while taking in the best of the view. I ended up buying their white wines. Kudos to the owner for creating a beautiful winery with the best customer service I had experienced in the seven wineries I visited in the area. It is obvious they spent a lot of money building it.

My husband and I are new to Virginia and this winery came highly recommend. It definitely did not disappoint!! I love their ordering system -it's efficient and easy. We each had a flatbread pizza and shared a pretzel and they were delicious. We each had a mixed tasting and loved the wines. Staff was super friendly. AND THE VIEWS!!! Wow. No issues to find here this winery is fabulous. Definitely will be returning.

This place is larger than you might assume, very expansive, great views and lots of areas inside and out to enjoy the location. Food was good and their beer flight had a good variety.

One of my favorite wineries in Virginia. The mountain views from its perch on top of a hill were unbelievable. Lots of beautiful outdoor seating. Inside there is a covered patio that you should make a reservation for- it’s nice except it’s extremely loud- they should consider some sound deadening material or something because the noise was almost enough to make us move outside. They have food- we had a good charcuterie board, giant pretzel with beer cheese, and pizza. They were having a technical problem with the ovens so the pizza took a long time, but the manager came out and apologized to each and every table- I was impressed with this dedication to service. There is also a wedding venue that looks beautiful. All facilities look new and expensive. The driveway up the hill is steep and impressive as you go through the vineyard. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy some wine near Charlottesville, I would highly recommend Hazy Mountain. Guarantee you’ll say “wow”

We’ve been to numerous wineries in numerous states and, for me, this is hands down the most beautiful winery I’ve ever seen…absolutely jaw dropping. I wish the pics did it justice.

This winery is absolutely gorgeous! Driving up feels like you’re arriving at a European villa! We did a guided tasting which was really enjoyable. We had pizza and pretzels which was perfect after a couple wineries for the day.

Beautiful winery! The views are breathtaking. The landscaping was well done. The venue itself offers great seating inside with open windows. Make reservations!!!! If you don't have reservations you can order from the bar and sit outside at the tables or upstairs outdoor balcony. It's better to reserve a table and have service. You order from an app and they bring you your food and drinks. The pizza and spinach dip was delicious. I can't wait to go back and try other items. The chardonnay was delightful. Overall I had a great relaxing time at Hazy!

Good wine, great food, MARVELOUS view
A wonderful setup on top of a hill where you can enjoy your food and drink looking down over the vineyard and out onto the blue ridge mountains.
Costs slightly more than some other nearby wineries, but will not disappoint.
Covered and uncovered seating available. Call to reserve ahead of time to get a table you prefer! We reserved day-of on a Saturday and had no problems.

Visited for the first time and was taken away by the views and wine. Please go visit Alyssa and Taylor who will wine and dine you to the fullest extent. Thank you ladies for a wonderful experience. We will see you soon!!

The wine was very, very good and the atmosphere was beautiful. The building itself was gorgeous. That is the reason for 5 stars.
Not impressed with the gf Flatbread (2 stars). I ordered smoked ham and mozzarella and was expecting a bit more. It was ok, but would not get again.

It's pretty nice, I like the heated patio seating. The food is good and I really like the beer! The Hazy IPA is my favorite. The gourmet ice cream sandwiches are rich. The cutlery is eco-friendly and the winery is very clean 😁.

This is newly opened (June 2021). You can still smell the fresh asphalt 😀. Wow what a place!! Incredible

Before we get to the wine let’s talk about the location!! The views from the winery are just amazing. If you want to sit in the shade at weekends you need to book ahead. It gets very busy. If you don’t mind sitting in full sun then you can just turn up.

Vineyard wise it’s a very new plantation. So not super impressive yet.

Building wise is amazing! It has a shop and tasting building that is stunning. It’s comparable to some of the best vineyards I’ve been lucky enough to visit in Spain over three years.

There is also a separate building for weddings that is not open yet - the views are made for weddings.

Wine wise the Chardonnay was very good! $10 a glass or $36 a bottle.

We will be back - with friends and it will be interesting to see how this building and vineyards mature over time

Gorgeous winery… shut the place down tonight…our server Todd, fellow Marine, was fabulous…can’t wait to come back. We did a tasting, followed by a bottle of Rose and a Flatbread while sitting on the patio overlooking the Vinyard and Mountains. Followed by some great conversation with the staff and a great glass of BDX watching sunset.

Went on a vineyard tour and this place had absolutely the best views out of all we went too. Great food and drinks and the facility is beautiful! A good tip is that there are up stairs tables inside, but also outside in a much smaller area. My wife and I were able to get the incredible views of sitting outside with a less crowded setting at the upstairs table.

Man...I want to keep this place a secret sooooo bad, but I just can't! It's like an Italian vineyard set in tuscany...absolutely stunning views and venue. The rose is very nice, and the food on point. I'm coming back, again. And again, and again

Amazing views and good wine. The food is great too. We loved the pizza! The aesthetics are money, money, money, but at its heart, it's still good southern hospitality. We will go back!

Absolutely gorgeous views. We went for some light snacks and beer. The soft pretzel was excellent and we got a flight of beer. They only had 4 types of beer but they were varied and all were very good. Definitely recommended!
