Ravens Roost Overlook

2nd time traveling in Blueridge Pkwy and i never get tired viewing this mountain ranges. Spectacular view! A must see especially sunset. Overlook was full when we arrived. Only one way in and out so it was a challenge getting out when we found out it was full. We ended up parking on the side of the road to watch sunset. We went back the following morning and it was just us. It was all worth the trip.

An amazing overlook on winter garden area. There are picnic bench but no rest rooms. You will be amazed by the breath taking view of the Mountain View. Definitely recommended spots to check out. We came here on drizzle rain day and the clouds added a drama to the view. If you are the person enjoy the Mountain View on gloomy day then it is your spot. Limited parking spaces as like you expect on overlook places.

One of my absolute favorite view points on the parkway. Can be a little crowded but there are plenty of spots to hang out and see the view.

One of my favorite spots for my clients with all of the stunning views, minus the hike. Highly recommend this overlook for the best sunset views, picnics, and more. It can get pretty packed in there most days when there’s beautiful weather, but there’s a trail off to the side that leads down the front of the wall that offers more privacy and stunning views as well.

One of the best overlooks of the valley. There is a picnic table as well, if you want to enjoy the beautiful view and have a meal. Perfect place to take pictures, also from edge of the cliff. If you are going with kids you have to be very careful. You can go there and relax and spend the evening with your loved ones.

This is a great overlook to stop at on the parkway. I've been to most of them and this is one of my new favorites. It also looks like a great climbing area with a wide variety of routes ranging from 5.6 - 5.11, though I haven't climbed here yet.

Best sunset view in Fall season. Check the weather and be here at least 15 mins before sunset, parking is little hard to find, but you won't be leaving your place for another hour.

The sun goes down the opposite mountain, but the colors in the sky lights up the valley around beautifully.

It's always so beautiful! Especially during the fall.

An amazing overlook but very dangerous. A lot of loose rocks on steep slopes. Don’t get close to the edge unless you have wings.

Stunning beauty. It was a gorgeous day and the sky looked like something Van Gogh would have dreamed. This is definitely an overlook to see and one I will remember. Can't wait to return to this area of VA.

I come here for the nostalgia and for the view. In the summer the sunsets are to die for. I take a trip up from Raleigh every few years and it never ceases to amaze me after a long day of driving and hiking.

It was the perfect day. My husband and I packed a picnic lunch and enjoyed the gorgeous views!

This place is amazing for a golden hour shoot or just grabbing dessert Togo after a great date and enjoying the sunset together. The views are amazing no matter the time of year.
Parking can be a little tight even on a weekday evening so make sure you get there a little early. There is also an area to go rock climbing and repelling. The path walking back up is a little steep and unmarked but in all you get a pretty good thrill in the climb.

I love this place, especially during the fall! So beautiful!!

At sunset several wedding parties were having pictures taken. Sunset itself was pretty great.

This is my first time coming to Raven Roost and it has such a fascinating view over Waynesboro during sunset! Parking spots might not be enough but you no need any high quality cameras to take these pictures :)
