Monterrey Mexican Restaurant

First time dining here and it was an excellent experience. Out the gate, happy to see a 99.5 score. It look like it might have been recently renovated with beautiful tiles and unique finishes to the wall.

We were greeted and seated right away, midday. Our waitress took our order and brought out chips and drinks next. (Thank you for not making the salsa spicy. It was mild with good flavor and we each got a bowl for dipping). The food came out maybe 10-15 minutes later, hot and fresh!

I tried the Monterey Sampler: beef taquitos, chicken quesadilla and bbq wings. The taquitos used a tender shredded beef brisket with green peppers. The quesadilla was stuffed with tender slices of seasoned chicken and had a light layer of cheese. The wings were fried perfectly and had a thick tangy bbq sauce. Even the celery sticks were crisp and fresh to dip in tasty ranch dressing.

Throughout our meal we were checked on for assistance and to ensure satisfaction.
I honestly wished I could’ve left a big tip but was low on cash. State employee 🥴 so I hope my review brings them plenty of new customers.

This place is fantastic. The staff is very kind, attentive, and quick. With always delicious food, the menu has nice specials and new items to go with the normal Mexican fare. There are lots of TVs throughout, and the bar area is pretty sweet too. Great place to watch a game. It's a very kid friendly place as well!

It is a great place to bring the family, friends, or a special someone. The service is wonderful, the atmosphere is incredible, and it has some of the best food!

I love Monterrey’s. Very solid food and a good price. My favorite part about Monterrey’s is the service. Everyone is so kind and always have great recommendations. My absolute favorite server has to be Jessica she is amazing!

Have loved going to this place for years, the food is top notch and so are the portions. Every time I’ve gone here I can barely put in a dent in the chips because the food comes out so fast! I ordered the Burrito Pepe, one of my favorites here. Love this place

Great Mexican restaurant. We had table side guacamole prepared. It was nice to see them use fresh avocado. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Friendly service. I will go back. Margarita was too sweet but had a cute rubber ducky in it.

Love the food, it's perfect Tex-Mex! My son loves the cheese dip and they have great options for kids meals. The servers are always pleasant and helpful, we had Jessica last time and she was wonderful!!

This place is absolutely amazing! My wife and I always eat here and order it on door dash! Y'all even the delivery is amazing it taste just as fresh and delicious as it does when you’re there! Trust me, this is coming from someone who doesn’t even like Mexican as much! This place is awesome!

My coworkers and I come here several times a month for gatherings because it's just the best. The food is phenomenal. The burrito mexicano, the fajita quesadilla, the bean dip - i havent found a dish I didn't like. And the daily drink deals are great! Service is always awesome - Pablo is amazing and attentive to his tables!

We love this place and these people. The new aprons don’t really fit the scene and look funny and informal. Food, people and atmosphere still great. Thanks as always.

My family and I came to Monterey Mexican grill to celebrate my partner getting a great job! Everything was delicious and hot when it came out. My mojito was delicious and was well presented. This restaurant is right around the corner so it’ll be our favorite go to restaurant in the future ☺

This is my go to Mexican restaurant in the area. The food is so good every time - very consistent and much better than the other locations! Margaritas are excellent too.

We have been going to Monterrey for years. The service is ALWAYS courteous and efficient. The food is delicious and the beer is cold. Honestly it is one of the most well-run restaurants in Chapel Hill and that is coming from a former restaurant owner. We are never disappointed when we go to Monterrey. Thank you Monterrey for making eating out a pleasure!
