Alpha Comics and Games

Very friendly people. Heard that Marvel was doing a collaboration and releasing a new Ultraman comic, so wanted to check it not. Not the biggest place and limited back copies, but its a good little place. I have talked with them before at some of the Galaxy-Cons that have come to Richmond. Very bright place, decent supply of new released comics. Looks like they might do some card games or D&D role playing here. My son grabbed a new comic and my daughter picked a graphic novel out. Good place maybe to get a subscription service. When I was walking out few guys walked in and they seemed to know who they were and said they would grab there comics. Great little local place, worth checking them out and support a small local biz!

Delighted with the helpful and friendly staff who helped me find the perfect gift. Christmas is done! Neat and organize store centrally located with great parking. Now I know where to go for comic and game related needs.

i took my little brother here and the lady at the cashier was beyond nice. she was able to answer any questions my brother had and offer advice too. she was very interactive and seemed happy to answer any little or big questions he had. she is very good with kids and i had a good experience!

Grandchildren loved the store! They said there is a great selection of books and games.

Kinda small but still a very nice selection of comics. Pretty affordable and staff is very friendly.

We got to run a small one shot of d&d for mother's day and the people working there were very nice, attentive, and fun. They helped us plenty while we were there and I will definitely be coming back. Alpha is a very fitting name because they're the best around.

While the store is small the staff is amazing. Conversation, Knowledge and Friendly! Alex and Bri know what sell and support. Lots of Comics, Pokemon and Magic. They have a small kids area for games etc. They can provide you insight for that space as well. The board games section is small but well curated. They have a good following for RPG and are well versed in that space. If you are in the area you should stop in. If you have a questions they have answers. I look forward to seeing this store grow!

Alex does such a great job of helping customers with comics, TTRPG and card games. This is a clean and inviting comic shop in the refurbished Willow Lawn.

Stopped in while wandering with my 5-year-old. While I can't necessarily speak to how extensive their collection is, I can say that we had an awesome experience! Bri greeted us, encouraged us to look around, and even made some suggestions for my kiddo. It was so nice that Bri was willing to help my kid and talk about what they are interested in (especially since we were 100% there for my child - I know almost nothing about comics). We cannot wait to go back soon and may turn it into a weekly or monthly Mama/kiddo date!

Enjoyed meeting with Steve and discussing our respective stories about growing up in the silver age of comics. This is a store that my oldest son and DIL (and grandaughter) frequent often, and a place where they have made a good many friends. They took my wife and me by after the Sunday service to introduce us to the store and its owner.

This store was very nice! The people that work here are very friendly and informative of their selection. They had quite a diverse selection for such a small space, from the mainstream to the very obscure. It was also quite well organized as each section of the shelf was dedicated to a specific character, series, or publisher.

Even though this store is a comic shop first and foremost, they have a healthy selection of figurines, board games, and card games that I believe you can even settle down and play inside if you want (I’m not quite sure of that since I don’t play those kinds of games, but from what I’ve heard that seems to be the case). They also have a selection of art supplies and guide books to creating and writing comics! They even have a little local artist section too! So any aspiring comic creators out there should definitely come check it out.

Overall, this store is very welcoming to newcomers and fans alike! Definitely worth visiting again and again!

When I go out of town I enjoy checking out the comic stores. I went to this store today for the first time. It was one of my better comic book experiences ever. Mainly because the people who were working there were super nice. Very friendly and had a passion for what they were doing. It was a great experience and thank you Alpha for your kindness and letting me enjoy your store.

They were so nice! We were checking out a bunch of comic and book stores in Richmond and they are definitely one we'd love to come back to. Their comic selection is huge and very well organized. And the employees are very knowledgeable, they seem to care about their regulars and their new customers.

I've been nervous about going into comic stores for a while, after hearing some horror stories about newbies trying to dive in. After a visit here, all those worries are entirely gone. The owners are incredible, both in being friendly and in being incredibly knowledgeable about the store. I had a lovely conversation with the woman working there, and felt incredibly welcomed. Not only did I find what I had been looking for, I picked up a few other things as well on recommendation, and I've loved it! If i could give more stars, I absolutely would.

The staff is incredibly helpful and patient. They take the time to make valid recommendations based on the customers level. They are quick to order special interests. They have a great selection of tabletops and accessories Truly, they are kind and wonderful people.

A small shop, but they have a lot of neat stuff. Staff is really friendly. When the guy who rang me up saw what I was buying, he went ahead and pulled the next few issues for me and held them behind the front desk so I can come back and get them when I'm ready -- a really nice gesture that didn't need to be done! A friend of mine also noticed something they didn't have, and they reserved a copy for him from their next shipment. They also had a lot of flyers for local comic-related events out-- nice to see community involvement. Will definitely shop again!
