My favorite coaster in the park, I don’t get the roughness or the head banging at all. All I get is one of the most intense arrow loopers (apart from X2 or magnum xl 200 probably I’ve never been to cedar point).

One of the OG rides at magic mountain and honestly it's my favorite. Good speed, decent drop, great loops and curls. Some complain of head banging but they're pansies.

Bring plenty of sunscreen! If you're adventurous and love thrilling rollercoaster rides you should definently go for it!I loved it !

Still one of my all time favorites at Magic Mountain!!!! It's showing it's age and a bit rough, but still a winner in my book.

Y'ALL BETTER LEAVE MY VIPER ALONE!!!!!

Officially the last standing Arrow custom looper in the world. All the others either reached the end of their service life or succumbed to the times. Cherrish it while it's still here. A true classic, and we don't truly know how much more time it has at our beloved Magic Mountain. I've been riding Viper for about 30yrs now and it's absolutely great. Def one of the better Arrow custom loopers that was put out. Would love to see them breathe new life into the coaster; a paint job, maybe a good re-tracking by Vekoma or S&S Sansei, and maybe even update the trains. Just to hopefully keep it going another 30+ years strong.

I've never had an issue with "headbanging". Keep your head firm on the headrest and you won't have that problem.

Also, for a real treat, ride this coaster in the very back row. I promise you, it's a whole different ride and way more intense!

I remember when this came out in 1990. It was insanely scary and cool. I conquered it then but riding it in my mid 40s is even cooler. I love the ride!

Honestly one of the most underrated coasters at this park. People love to bag on this one but I believe that it’s one of the best here. Great drops, loops, and even a corkscrew. Plus, it hardly ever has a line so you can ride it over and over and over. Great ride and would come back.

First time I've felt true terror on a coaster in *years*. It may be janky, but that's exactly what's so awesome about it. It's so out of control, and every inversion is more forceful than the last, including the corkscrew, you don't even have time to think. And that miscourse break run has some amazing ejector airtime. You heard me right, mid course break run. Holy cow! TC might be insanely fun, but Viper is just wild.

Warning for shorter people though: it's a head banger. You can actually avoid it if you brace yourself before any transitions or turns, you push your shoulders against the restraints, push your back into the back of your seat, and don't have your head on the headrest, just don't!

You can also sit in the back, it's completely smooth but you loose the awesome force in the loops!

Back in the day this was the best coaster in the park (X-2 might have been better but it has been broken every time I have gone) I have not been on it in awhile though so hopefully it runs as I remember. Compared to similar sized Arrow looping coasters (most of which have now been torn down) this rode the smoothest. When I went years ago I didn't notice the headbanging that other people seem to comment on. Anyway, this ride is arguably more classic than any of their other classic rides, and because the larger Arrow coasters are a rare commodity now, Six Flags ought to preserve and maintain this coaster. Cali should consider making this a historical monument or something.

its a little rough but does not take away from the fun that this ride is i still continue to go on it but never go on it in the cold it will be really bad but yeah the ride is super fun and very deceiving to the human eye. Feels like its going to be really bad but its not. Still though i dont know about anyone else but this ride is great.

I don't usually like rough coasters, but this one isn't too bad! It's not as rough as people say and the inversions are a lot of fun especially the batwing. I was scared to ride this only because of everyone saying it hurt and wasn't fun but I really enjoyed it! It's now one of my favorite roller coasters!

Sick as ride, i personally love it its a very underrated yet fun ride. Theres never any line so if you like it as much as i do you can ride it as many times as youd like in 1 day without wasting any time.

When I was younger and I bet everyone can relate. This ride would always leave me with a headache. But I believe they changed the seats and now it's much comfortable so 5 stars!!!

This coaster is probably one of the best thrills in the park. It also usually has super short line, or no line at all, allowing you to ride it over and over if you so please. If there's one thing that this coaster doesn't have going for it, it's that the coaster is rather old, and the ride is a little rough. But that just makes it more fun to me.

This was a great coaster when I rode it in the summer of 2019 and it was super smooth and I loved it but Idk what happened but when I came back in October 2019, I only rode the coaster once because my brother came with and we rode the other coasters first, I was dying to ride it again all day but I was kinda disappointed cuz it was more shaky than it was in the summer. I will probably ride it again soon

The best ride ever. You NEED to go on the viper if you go. Actually, get the flash pass and spend all day on the viper. It's what you paid for. Get on the viper instead of visiting your chiropractor. It'll fix you right up. The viper changed my life.

This ride is the most underrated ride, its fast, historic, tall, and its pure arrow goodness, my only problemwith the ride is the trains, the restraint does headbang but they can aways add padding to the trains , this ride is a top 6, and a must ride for old, arrow junkies.
