Game Zone Salem

Nice little retro game store located in the down town of Salem. Great variety of systems and games. The shop is itself is set up like a museum with displays and systems lining the wall giving you brief descriptions of the years that they were around. A lot of the games in the shop have original cases and and are in great working shape. The staff which I believe are the owners were amazing and had the time and patience to put up with our questions. They also do some repairs on older systems but it's best to call for pricing.

For a retro fan like me it was such a pleasant surprise to find this store. It has an amazing collection of consoles, from NES to PS5, including some total rarities like Neo Geo. Everything is also neatly organized, which can't be said about many other retro gaming stores. Highly recommended!

Person working there was both friendly and knowledgeable. Had a great collection and prices are amazing. Had all the games I had been looking to get for years but couldn't find them anywhere else.

This place is so great! Lots of games to look through. If you are looking for something rare just ask they might have it. Lots of gaming consoles to buy from all the decades of gaming. We spent about an hour in this small store always finding more stuff. The people working there were very helpful and super informative!

The only retro game store you’ll ever need. Been going to game zone for a few years now, and when I have friends in town it’s always one of the spots we hit. They have a massive, constantly rotating variety of games and a deep knowledge of so many systems. I often see rare games (like original Pokémon, castlevania, etc.) and coveted systems for sale. They happily repaired my Nintendo DS after I’d been refused by every technician in the NH/MA area. The repair was very cheap and done quickly and seamlessly. I am so thankful to have my DS working again- the lovely people at game zone made my week (:
Salem would be missing without local, honest places like this.

This store is a fun one for anyone who enjoyed home video consoles, whether recently or in the 1980s. It could be a museum, stocked with consoles from the Atari 2600 onward, including dozens of consoles built to play one game on your TV.

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

This is the only place on the North Shore that I've found that will buff scratched discs.

Retro vibes and nostalgia at this downtown Salem video game shop. Staffed by friendly, helpful, and (most importantly) passionate gamers. Look no further for a nice selection of older consoles and games, and any related repairs.

This is a museum if anything! I’ve been here numerous times; both for purchasing and leisure. When I was a kid I got my Pokémon crystal copy from this store, and when I am an adult, I reference this store a lot for my line of work as a game developer. I genuinely am shook each time I walk into the store from how incredible it is- words cannot describe it. If you’re into gaming, history, or development, please stop by!

This was an amazing find! Stumbled on this while visiting Salem. Quite possibly the best video game shop, anywhere! They have absolutely everything - I'll definitely be back!

It was a good place to visit! The guy behind the counter was very knowledgeable about games, very helpful! I was able to find FF1-6 physical copy there! A++

Friendly and helpful knowledgeable staff welcome you into this old-school (Atari-PS4) videogame time traveling store - I especially apreciarte the museum-like display of chronologically arranged game consoles, which state the each one's total sales). With many difficult to find peripherals and specialty built consoles (ie. Hyperkin SupaBoy, Hyperkin RetroN 5), alongside most all ever released consoles, this small shop is Toad 🍄 mighty!

They have a lot of merchandise, from common to rare items. I was able to add Pokémon channel to my collection from this shop.

Highly recommend stopping in to see what they have.

Items are fairly priced, some a little above market value, but this is to be expected from a tourist area.

Such a great experience here. So many options here and at good prices. I bought a ps3 and 5 classic games all for $225. Tyler was a great worker that knew a lot and was very helpful. Definitely my new favorite retro shop!

Went here while on vacation in the Boston / Salem area. Some of the games are a little pricey, but I didn't mind much due to the awesome atmosphere of the shop and the abundant friendliness of the staff. Not only do they go out of their way to assist customers, but they also will make recommendations and are very knowledgeable about their product.

Extremely pleasant visits whenever I am in Salem. My boyfriend and I are will just pop in and say hello whenever we are in town. About a month ago, we were told they would have a used PS5 around 3/10. Sure enough, we went in last night and purchased it. They were happy that we were the ones who bought it, and were very excited for us. I will come back as long as the store is there. We are life long customers.
