El Pulgarcito Restaurant

Stopped for dinner in Bakersfield on our way to San Jose. We enjoyed some pupusas - shrimp for hubby & loroco (squash flower) for me. The chicken tamal was very fluffy and had more of a spongy texture. The plantain empanadas were very rich and creamy. Muy excelente!

Absolutely best cheese pupusas I ever had! No reheated, frozen stuff.. freshly made! There is indoor eating and I got my car washed while eating my meal. Great service, definitely a hidden gem here in Bakersfield. Would definitely recommend!

Service was excellent, and the food too. I ordered pupusas revueltas and my husband had a traditional breakfast. It was a good experience. The also have pan dulce. It is small but nice.

First of all I want to start by how spotless this place was especially the restroom (that’s a big one for me) continue with their pupusas. They’re the Best authentic pupusas tamales pisques & horchata I’ve ever had. Highly recommend & to top it off Prices are affordable and service is great sucks I live 7+ hours away but this place will definitely be my stopping point next time

Been going to her restaurant for years! Me and my family love how caring she is to her customers! Also the food is incredible I highly suggest the pupusa de arroz (pupusa made of rice) and the tamales. Will keep coming back for more!

If you want some food that brings you back to El Salvador you've got to check this place out! Best pupusas I've had anywhere in California. Great food not greasy and good prices
