El Cuscatleco restaurant

I was looking for an early lunch and this place sounded promising so I stopped in. The tacos were fantastic and an incredible value so I made it a point to stop in the next morning for breakfast. Absolutely delicious and filling. If you're in Bakersfield and looking for something unique don't hesitate to give El Cuscatleco a try. You won't walk away disappointed or hungry!

I really like this thing place it very clean, the staff’s are really nice and they have lunch menu for $7.

The food was delicious.

I had tortilla chips and chili sauce to start

Ordered Chili Verde, rice, beans, salad and tortillas for lunch.

The only thing I missed in the Chili Verde was the chunks of peppers.

The only reason I gave four stars is after I got the food, I never saw a server again.

I ran out of soda halfway through the meal and never got any more.

I returned to El Cuscatleco for a second try.

Once again I enjoyed the food, although the carnitas beef was very dry.

The rest of the meal was great.

I believe the star of the meal is the homemade tortillas. They are absolutely wonderful.

Next time I will order the tortillas and beans. That will be a great meal.

I really enjoy the rice. The flavor and vegetables in the rice complement each other perfectly.

The server was very attentive and replaced the beef with chicken.

This was a much better experience and I willingly give five stars.

I'm always skeptical of Salvi restaurants. I've been to too many that have fallen short.
This one on particular raised a red flag for me because they also serve Mexican dishes.

When I think of Salvi food, I think of pupusas. I realize there's more to Salvi food than that.

Now, pupusas can be hit or miss. NOT HERE. This place is legit. 100% authentic delicious pupusas. The cheese to masa ratio is exactly what it should be.
I'd come here again.

We found this Salvadoran place and had to try it out. We ordered multiple items from the menu. Each plate was really tasteful! We will be coming back soon.

Ordered the empanada trio( 2 chicken and 1 pork), Revuelta pupusa, Yuca frita/Chicharron, veggie fajitas(requested no meat) and cheese and beans pupusa and reach and each and everything was just awesome!!!

Our server, Ximena, was very cheerful, patient and courteous.
Definitely recommend visiting here to try delicious Salvadorian food!!

Very authentic and incredible tasting food in a very informal, casual atmosphere - here it is really all about the food.

Visiting and glad the GPS took me a weird way through town to stumble upon this gem. Hadn't had Salvadoran food since moving from back East/DC and these folks are the real deal if not even better. Super delicious food, friendly and attentive staff, and family friendly/casual. Telling my friends and I'll be visiting this area of town much more often now!

My first time here, the food was excellent, so much I wanted to try, I had Pompous empanadas n veggies oh my . A must stop and try, super clean and friendly.

We found our new spot! The food was delicious, it was a very nice place and the service was pleasant. Highly recommend the Yuca con chicharrón (the curtido served with it is 🔥) l, pupusas and empanadas de plátano con crema.

I was surprised not to see more people if you're considering going to this place take a chance you won't regret it!

This is a new place we tried. IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! I had 2 tacos and 2 pupusas and everything was sooo good definitely recommend to try. I will be going back soon

Delicious authentic Salvadoran and Mexican food. Small staff so there is some wait time, but the service is amazing, food was fresh and delicious, and the restaurant was clean and well kept. Prices were also very good!

The atmosphere is wonderful here! The food comes out rather quickly and the staff was very friendly, I will definitely be dining in again soon

Food takes a while, but tastes great!

Best and most authentic food I’ve tried in a while. Employees are genuinely nice and are aware of your needs. Recommend to anyone hungry in the area.

Food is great! I had the Cuscatleca pupusa, larger than the other pupusas, and a Baby corn tamale… delicious 😋 I highly recommend this place!

The pan con gallina was really good and the pupusas awesome..... will come back...

I went a late Saturday night. We ordered pupusas (revueltas, and the cuscatleco pupusa) with horchata mexicana. I also went back on Sunday morning (it was busy) we had a larger group and we ordered (pupusas con todo, pupusas revueltas, pupusas de puro queso, yuca frita con chicharron, and the desayuno cuscatleco) with enslada drink, and horchatas mexicanas. Both days I went the staff was all very polite, very attentive. They brought us chips and salsa right away. Will be back to try out different dishes. Thank you for a great first time experience.

The pupusas are a must, they come with the toppings on the side And the empanadas are amazing
