Broughton Street Cafe & Ice Cream

Stopped in this time with my daughter and we scored the BEST FOOD yet!!!!! SLICED BEEF with horseradish mayo and a CHICKEN AND PROVOLONE, both on CRISPY FRESH croissants !!!! WOW!!!! Generous portions and it was dinner too!!!!
Topped off with a huge slice of fluffy and light Coconut Italian Wedding Cake (???) with delectably soft (and NOT too sweet surprisingly ) white vanilla frosting. Also saved some for dinner!!!
Terrific local coffee as stated before.
Orangeburg (and the BROUGHTON CAFE) is a great stop before the crazy chariot races (and THIS time HOURS long traffic jams!!!!) on the I-26 to Columbia.

I love getting off the Interstate highways and visiting these lovely historic towns that have been left behind by the HIGHWAY TRAVELLERS.
Orangeburg is the home of USC but the downtown area seems a bit deserted. Fortunately for me, and the people of Orangeburg, this CAFE has opened up to offer locals (and we lucky visitors) some delicious baking and locally-sourced fabulous coffee (and as a frequent visitor to the USA I have not been impressed with much of the coffee I have tasted on previous trips) in a bright, artistic and comfortable setting.
Daily baking delights totally unfitting for any diet) are sold out quickly because this café has a reputation for delectable desserts.
This place is definitely on my route for the next time and, in addition, the drive between the I-26 and I-95 is soooooo much prettier ....and SAFER!!!!!

Enjoyed our visit at this gorgeous coffee/ice cream shop. We were there for ice cream and was happy with our purchase. Owner was very friendly and passionate about building the community and providing options for the town. We'll be back the next time we're in that area on the motorcycle.

Stopped in here on our huge motorcycle ride. Ronni and Greg were just opening up. Walking in this place felt like walking into the home of your favorite Aunt and Uncle. Great coffee and treats with fantastic conversation! This place is a beacon in a town that's trying to get its mojo back. If the rest of the town follows Broughton St.'s lead, they'll be on top in no time!

First time visiting this Cafe in town. So glad I did!
I ordered the Turkey & Muenster toasted croissant and a sugar free iced mocha! It was absolutely delicious !

As we were traveling back home from South Carolina, we chose to stop at Broughton Street Cafe & Ice Cream. This cafe has so much to offer: cleanliness, an inviting atmosphere, hospitality, and delicious food. We purchased four cream cheese danishes, and they were all the perfect consistency of what a danish should be: golden brown, flaky, moist, and adequately filled with cream cheese. We especially appreciated the friendliness of the family who works together at this cafe! Orangeburg is blessed to have such a fine establishment in their city!

Just had the best caramel macchiato coffee ☕ in Orangeburg at Broughton St Cafe! Yummy! Enjoyed breakfast croissant sandwiches (sausage/bacon/egg and cheese). Wonderful ambiance and great service. Had to share my experience there with local family that hasn’t had the honor of visiting yet!

Mom and I stopped for ice cream on Friday! Smooth butter pecan! Have you been there? If not, definitely a must!

Great coffee shop! I stopped by with my son the way back from a hockey tournament in Charleston. Latte was top tier, he really liked his hot coco and the bagel/cream cheese was perfect too. Oh and he liked his blueberry muffin and I had a slice of my first key lime cake! Service was friendly, place super clean and the location was good as well (and easy parking). Will be back on our next visit in the area!

This place is everything….classy, jazzy feel to it. Cheat dessert:: cake, ice cream and lemonade all excellent. The owner was a pleasure to meet and we will be returning to try the sandwiches. Definitely recommend!!!

My husband and I step in to get some ice cream. The inside was very welcoming and the ice cream was great, my husband had a cup of the strawberry and I had the nut sundae. Just the spot to enjoy a little bit of us time.

The ice cream is delicious, and the sizes are generous. The employees are courteous and attentive. The decor is very cute, and they have a kids' bookcase full of books. I highly recommend it. The Michigan Pothole ice cream is amazing 😍! (Hope I got the name right.)

Mr. Greg is an awesome local owner. The food is made personally and with love.

Breakfast melts are amazing! I had mine with turkey sausage, and it came with grapes. The coffee is quality. The atmosphere is super relaxing, smooth jazz playing, art on the walls and the cafe is decorated for Christmas. Sorry, I forgot to take photos but trust me the food is delicious. Great spot to chill.

Love Love LOOOOOOVE the Broughton St. Cafe! If you haven’t tried them yet, you NEED TO! Their roast beef and ham croissant melts are my favorite and my bonus mom loves the turkey. Always fresh and tasty! Also their strawberry lemonade is the bomb dot com!

I absolutely love this place! The owners are friendly and run a professional Cafe! The food (and I have had the breakfast, lunch, pastey and ice cream) and beverages are always delicious! Great addition to Orangeburg!!

This is the most adorable little coffee shop in Downtown Orangeburg that could set the stage for a meet cute scene straight out of a Christmas Hallmark Movie.

The cafe offers several croissant sandwiches that come with chips and a drink alongside a solid pastry selection, several flavors of ice cream and simple coffee shop beverage staples.

I had the roast beef croissant with provolone cheese. It was delightful! It was fresh, hot and had deliciously melty cheese between a perfectly flaky croissant. I also had a hot chocolate that was as sweet as it was chocolatey. It was great!

Service is not the quickest as it is a family-owned establishment with a few employees. I say that simply to say that you should come in and plan to stay a while. There's ample table seating throughout and a large chair in one window and a loveseat in another. I particularly appreciated the coloring booklets and small collection of books for patrons to entertain themselves or their little ones. There's also these great windows that allow people to look directly out into the bustling downtown streets. If I were in Orangeburg regularly, this would be my go-to place.

Very clean cafe and courteous owner. We stopped by for ice cream near closing time but the owner was helpful in guiding us through the best options for those in the group with nut allergies.

We brought our kids in for ice cream and myself, of course. The ice cream was wonderful and the atmosphere was so pleasant! Definitely recommend stopping in for anything on the menu! Can't wait to visit again!!!

So, I come here pretty frequently for breakfast sandwiches and thank the good Lord I somehow was able to sleep in this morning and by the time I woke up it was past breakfast. I called them to ask if they do breakfast all day long and much to my chagrin, they said no, well, nowhere else was open for breakfast either so I thought it was time to try out their lunch because like I said, I had gotten their breakfast, dozens and dozens of times at this point it is delicious and is a regular part of me and my businesses breakfast spots

Well, the sandwiches were so good I literally had to call up there just to tell them because I feel like everybody calls to complain, but nobody ever calls for the opposite. So, I didn’t just call to complement them because typically people only called to complain. The main reason was because they deserved the words that came out of my mouth when I said, “ Yo, I ordered two sandwiches with every intention of saving one to eat later, but I am completely smashing it at such a rapid speed I can already tell I will not have a sandwich to eat later.”

With all of that said, the food was absolutely terrific. I’m not gonna say it was cheap, but the fact is the economy we find ourselves, and everything is so expensive. It certainly is in the same ballpark as anything else out there.

And while the quality of ingredients and taste of the food really does matter the most the quality of the customer service and the ingredients inside their heart that leads to the way they operate. Their business is a big reason why I eat there on the regular. They are great people. They are individuals with a heart to not just serve the client in front of them, but to serve the city in which God has placed them. Maybe not for everyone but, at least for me, that does not go on seen.

Bottom line = Banging food, and exceptional service!

The lady in charge was very nice and even explained the menu and items to my fiancé and I because it was our first time. I absolutely loooved the music. All around great cibe and the food was great! Highly recommend 😌

My daughter and I visited yesterday and what a great treat! Very friendly, clean, comfortable place, great music playing, and beautiful location at corner of Russell Street and Broughton. Originally went for ice cream for my daughter and I ended up ordering the turkey and cheese croissant and glad I did! That strawberry lemonade was awesome! The absolute best sandwich I had in a while. We are definitely coming back. Very reasonably priced.
