Chu’s Cafe

I got takeout recently and it’s pretty good! I definitely recommend the chicken with broccoli or sesame chicken if you’re looking for some classic American Chinese food. To go a bit more authentic, I would one hundred percent suggest the sliced fish in a chili sauce. Not as much veggies that I would like but the hot chili sauce is delicious and portions are fantastic. I also really like bamboo shoots so I get that with shredded pork.

Now for my standard comments. There’s not too much space to eat in or too many employees, not like they used to have. Service is not bad. Takeout is pretty quick if you call ahead or order online.

I ordered the dry fried chicken with hot chili pepper. After the drive home after pick up, the outside was still crisp and not soggy. The owner provides great customer service and is open to input that customers provide because he truly wants to make his food better. I do recommend giving Chu's Cafe a chance and hope they are open for dine in soon.

The food was really good. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area.

I am thrilled that I decided to give this restaurant a chance! It had been quite some time since I last enjoyed Chinese cuisine, and I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was. Specifically, I ordered the Shredded Beef Szechman, and it was clear that the dish was made with incredibly fresh ingredients - it wasn't greasy or overly salty like some Chinese food can be. The portion size was just right, and the shredded steak was so soft and tender, it practically melted in my mouth. Additionally, the free parking was a nice perk, and the staff were very attentive and accommodating throughout my meal. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality Chinese food and excellent service.

So glad I gave this place a try! It’s been a while since we ordered take out from them and everything tonight was delicious. We had pepper steak, shrimp fried rice, edamame and steamed shrimp with veggies. You could tell it was very fresh, not greasy or overly salty. The portions were big and we all have left overs for tomorrow. The steak was really soft and not chewy at all. The shrimp in the steamed dish were firm and not mushy like some other places have been. This is our new favorite spot for Chinese food for sure!

I call Chu's for takeout a couple of times a year. The food is nicely presented and in great quantities. My wife and I share an order. I usually order an extra Spring or Egg roll. Very good every time. I didn't rate atmosphere as I always takeout but it seems a clean small restaurant.

Best Chinese takeout around! The owners are always so nice and greet you with a smile! We ordered $100 worth of food, from soup, appetizers and entrees and everything was delicious!!! Love this place!

We have been going to CHU’S Cafe since early 2000’s. It’s has since changed ownership. Still the same Great Quality.
Always Fresh!! My picky kids always request and love Chu’s. Can’t wait for them to open the seating. Enjoy!!

Best Chinese food in the area. Fairly quick service, pricing is fair for what you get. The dining room is typically closed since the pandemic but carryout and delivery via third parties available.

Have not visited this restaurant for quite some time. Decided to give it another try since we are in the neighborhood. Ordered fried pork dumplings and two rice noodle dishes and was pleasantly surprised with our order from the standpoint of taste. We will be back hopefully for dine-in and to try other dishes.

Great place, for someone reason, the new owner has added more and more spice for the menu, leading to less options for the people who hate spice. The old owner didn't really care that much.

We had to wait a long time wait for the food and the refill this places had gone down hill In service going to the restaurant recommendation to order DoorDash or Uber eats from there

Excellent Chinese food! I think the best in Basking Ridge area. Unfortunately due to staffing issues (which every restaurant seems to be experiencing) no dining in. Really cute place!

Just moved to the area and tried this for the first time. AWESOME food and very reasonably priced! You have new repeat customers in this family!!
