Yume Japanese Burger Cafe

Went sightseeing in downtown Ojai and couldn’t resist trying Yume Japanese Burger Cafe! The Wagyu beef definitely lives up to the hype - it was delicious in both the burger and in the loaded fries. If you like traditional Thai Iced Tea, order the “very sweet” version (Yume offers is 3 ways). Service was great, and the outdoor patio is picturesque plus offered plenty protection from the heavy drizzle that was coming down at the time. 10/10 plan on going again.

This is a must have place when stopping in Ojai. The burgers, the bowls, the booze. You can't beat the atmosphere, the food, or the drinks. You can catch the sunshine on the back patio or sunset on the front porch. Views of the mountains out the back porch too. Must have some Japanese food when in Ojai. My favorite drink is the Kubota sake, but you must ask them to heat it up for the best tasting experience.

Visited Ojai to see what this place is all about and I was very impressed with the quality and flavor of their Spicy Chicken Karaage Sandwich, Ube waffle, and BBQ Wagyu Loaded Fries.

They have a very small and cozy indoor seating area but their beautiful patio has plenty more seating. This place is definitely an Ojai hidden gem.

Final verdict: 10/10 would definitely come again!!

First time in Ojai, and decided to take a chance on this place! My group didn't initially know this, but they have a thing where if your group of 3 has a birthday on the current month, then the birthday person's meal is free! It was a pleasant surprise! I ordered the spicy miso karaage burger, some fries to share, and a taro float. I loved the flavor on the karaage cutlet! Thank you for making this trip memorable!!

Came to this place for the first time! Ordered classic burger and Ojai burger! Omg it was so juciy and tasty! Love their atmosphere, pet friendly, and the staff were very welcoming and nice! Highly recommended 👌

Staff is over the top! Fun place to have a delicious burger! Big variety of choices...burgers ,fries, sandwiches . Can't wait to try them all! Everyone is super nice!

One word: Mmm. The wagyu burger and loaded fries had me like 😋😋😋 and 😛😛😛 (respectively). Came for the birthday special (which is REAL, btw), stayed for the ube shake (which had ME shakING). I got stopped by a nice woman outside who asked me where I got it from… when I tell you she had me pointing like George Washington in the revolutionary war painting… jk just checked and he isn’t— Mandela effect!—but you get my point 😤 don’t walk, run here

This place is truly a gem. They were open on Xmas eve. I’m vegetarian and they had an amazing croquette burger. Love love love it.

The food is very delicious. We came in at 11 so the actual food service was a little slower than expected but all of it was delicious. Additionally, we took our dogs and they received wonderful dog treats from the owner. We had a great time and enjoyed our time in Ojai.

Absolutely LOVE Yume Burger! Our group of three tried three different ones plus red garlic fries, and they were all delicious! Great selection of drinks too, alcoholic and non alcoholic, including boba. The owner is also so welcoming and kind! Will definitely be back soon to try the rest of the menu!

I can say it’s the best rice burger in California!!!! The beef is really juicy and soft. I also like the sauce on inside the burger. Also, the fries are fresh and flavorful! Recommend garlic and pepper one. It is gorgeous!

Stopped here to grab dessert and it did not disappoint. I got the strawberry Nutella crepe and my sister the ube mochi waffle. Im usually hesitant with mochi waffles, because they almost never actually have a bouncy mochi texture, but this one did and I’m almost annoyed that it was so good because I live a solid hour away. Next time I think I’d like to try some of the savory items

Stopped here on a whim while visiting Ojai and have found my lunch spot for future visits! I had the Carbonara Wagyu Burger (not even on their regular menu) and my wife had the Topa Topa Wagyu Burger and both were excellent. The meat was flavorful, had great texture, and was cooked to perfection. The toppings were excellent and plentiful and the serving size was just right (not too big like so many burger places lately). On top of the great food, the staff were great to deal with and very attentive. We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu!

The wagyu rice burger was awesome! And the Okonomi fries were excellent. The food came out quick and they had a good amount of outdoor seating. The bubble tea was simple but delicious.

Returned again with my friends! 10/2/22They loved the waffle offerings and ice-cream! Revised 6-28-22 Had the spicy chicken waffle with maple syrup OMG... Super Good... Puts my old Inglewood & LBC Waffle House to shame! The best!

Got one of the bowls. Really good... 3rd review... had the shrimp burger menu choice! DAMN! Really wonderful blend of flavor. I'm serious completely surprising. I don't like mayonnaise but I opted to allow it this time. It would have been a fail to omit it. Washington d.c. inflation has affected every place including here the price is fair considering how stupid our leaders are. It's all about the economy and the money.

Great service and really good food! We tried the classic wagyu burger and the Topa Topa karaage chicken sandwich. Both were really tasty. They have a nice patio in the back with heaters. Owners were really welcoming and enjoy interacting with their customers, handing out dog treats to customers who bring their dogs. Highly recommend a visit!

So good!!! I got their BBQ wagyu fries and they tasted very good. You can really taste the high quality of the meat and other ingredients. The owner and staff were very friendly. The place is kind of small but it’s a good place to grab and go. Overall great place, I really wish I had a place like this LA. I’ll be sure to eat here again if I visit Ojai 😃

I love how cute and artsy this place is. they have a nice back patio with shade and plenty of seating, a nice little indoors dining too. We are obsessed with their miso/spicy fries. their croquettes were good too. they have refreshing japanese beverages and self serve water and utensils. the staff is incredibly nice and attentive and the owner occasionally comes out and checks in with guests so I felt he valued us as customers and wanted to make sure we were having a pleasant experience. also, there to go stuff, straws etc is eco friendly which i love☺

We had the Topa Topa.burger, fried Chicken Dumpling and French Vanilla and Strawberry Crepe. Delicious and fresh... will be my go to burger joint. The owner and staff are amazing!!!

Saturday Lunch: Wagyu Rice Bun was the best version we've had to date - Can be enjoyed sandwich style or with utensils. tasty sauce that complimented the quality of beef rather than distract. the rice bun was soft and held its form. The karagge chicken sandwich was crispy and flavorful with the right amounts of sauces and mayo, served on a buttery toasted bun. a variety of japanese canned beverages supplement a menu of bubble teas, shakes, and coffees. The Ube Shake was excellent. Topped with an Oreo crumble, Pocky, and a mochi waffle wedge - the Shake was thick and full of ube flavor. Service was super friendly and attentive - very nice to meet and speak with the owner. from NYC to LA we've tried several rice bun burgers and this by far has been the best. Would gladly visit again - Highly recommend!
