Shish Palace

We had an excellent dinner at Shish Palace. The staff was able to make the necessary dietary accommodations for our meal and made sure the food was prepared properly. I wish we lived in Michigan to enjoy this cuisine often. I highly recommend!

What can I say, it's delicious. We had the quail and whole deboned chicken. Chicken and rice are so flavorful and my favorite are those clouds of heavenly flour!!! My boyfriend really enjoyed the complimentary tea.

This review is WELL overdue, but is absolutely necessary. I came to this location around a month ago, and I loved the food. It had a very savory and garlic-y taste that just makes me want to come back. I'm new to this area, so I look forward to coming back here in the future. The lady that was serving us was awesome, but I forgot her name. Me and my friend had to excuse ourselves for a moment, and she actually just kept our food warm for when we returned. Awesome service. If you are reading this, thank you so much <3. Also, the Yemeni Tea was top notch!

What a delightful place! Delicious food, fresh hot bread, fresh salad, and delicious hot spiced tea complementary. The service is friendly and attentive to detail. The bread is fresh and comes out right away; the mains are cooked to order and take...well, a few minutes to cook...but so juicy and delicious. Delicious! The place is smaller, maybe a dozen tables, and is clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back.

We had a birthday party for 20 as takeout. We ordered the 1/2 pan of chicken swarma, 1/2 lamb kabobs, two full salads, 1/2 rice and 1/2 veggies. Pan or hummus and garlic butter and pita bread. All very yummy and we would recommend for sure. Plenty leftover for the next day except the lamb. That went quick.

Had quick lunch with my mother and reverything came out fresh. Fries were so utterly perfect, I didn’t need any salt, ketchup et cetera. Chicken shawarma wrap was perfectly marinated, garnished. They also have some free Yemeni tea if you’d like. Might have a star anise base for flavor. Yemen is a beautiful region that has gone through many recent years of Saudi/US backed blockade preventing imports/humanitarian aid causing nearly half a million casualties; 11k of which were children since the start of the conflict

I’ve been coming here since October of last year. The food is always good and staff is really friendly. Dom/ Dawn is very pleasant every time I’ve ordered to pick up. Chicken Shawarma is best. They make these little pita fresh every day. They are soooo addictive!

We ordered Garlic Chicken wings and Fried cauliflower for appetizers.

Then Al Yemen Combo for 2 as our entrée

The wings were very crispy and very juicy with refreshing tart garlic cilantro flavor profile🤩

Fried cauliflower was fluffy with lite crisp.
Creamy and slightly tangy sauce on the plate paired well.

One of the items on the combo was out so they doubled up other items.

The slow roasted lamb blew me away😍🤩

The lamb was super tender falling of the bone and super juicy (never mushy) with full of umami without gamey flavor.

The best lamb dish I've ever had in my life 💝

Our server Dawn was incredibly sweet and awesome with great knowledge about their food.

She brought us, Yemen salsa, hummus, and baklava for us to try.

I just can't wait to go back there.

They prepared everything on time. Pro tip: order via phone and not DoorDash, it’s way cheaper.

All the food from here was really delicious but I'm completely taken with their lemon chicken and rice soup. The chicken is so flavorful and they don't skimp on lemon. The rice is also not overcooked at all. Really perfect soup. The clearly handmade bread was also especially tasty.

Run, don’t walk, to Shish Palace. I’ve been living in the area for almost a decade now and frequent Mediterranean / Arabic food, and this place is far and away the best I’ve ever had, and that includes the big names in Dearborn. The owner & employees are some of the nicest, most generous, accommodating people I’ve met. The food is outstanding, fresh, and perfectly prepared. The pita bread is the best, the Yemeni tea is unbelievable with notes of cardamom, and the food. I recommend the shish combo for two, and one soup and one salad. A perfect lunch and always has something to take home with you.

Dawn is amazing! Food is clean, real (unprocessed like most restaurants) and delicious! There's wonderful hot tea for you to enjoy as you wait. Pricing is terrific especially the tasty sandwiches from 11-4p. Enjoy!

First time here, really doesn't look to be much as it's in a strip mall with Planet Fitness and such. But wonderful food, very large helpings, and one of the best servers we've had in a very long time. Dawn was helpful every step of the way anticipating our needs and even bringing extras of sauces etc that she saw that we were liking. The large basket of fresh hot pita bread was the most amazing start. When she found out that our cast was an EMU student she applied the student discount to the three of us. Huge menu and extremely reasonable prices. We will absolutely be going there next time we're in the area!

The food here is genuinely incredible and so are the owners. This place is run by the nicest and most welcoming people and they seriously take care of you. It was all so amazing, so flavorful, and so tasty. The mint lemonade was the best I’ve ever had, and that’s impressive because I order it all the time everywhere I go. This restaurant really is exceptional.

Al Yemen kitchen is addition to Ypsilanti and serves the best Yemeni and Mediterranean food in the city! Everything tastes incredibly fresh and flavorful, lamb haneeth, Beef Ghalaba homemade and more. I tried the Fahsa which was absolutely, delicious comes with warm pita bread— it came with a side of soup and I added on a small order of falafel. Over all services is Beyond good, friendly staff and I'll recommend it to all my family and friends

This was a last second decision, but probably the best one I’ve made all year. The food was more than amazing but to add to the great experience was the host named Dawn. She was informative and throughout our entire dinner. Refilled our waters, gave us bread to take home, and always there to make sure we had everything we needed. 3 of us went and all three of us could not stop talking about the great food or experience we we’re having. This place deserves your business and a shot to bless your palate. Will be going there again and again.

Their food is cheap and SO tasty. This is the place to go for falafel and shawarma. Their staff treats you like their only family, even if it’s the first time you’ve come in! I’ve had nothing but great experiences. This place is so underrated!

The food here is amazing. Give your taste buds a treat and give it a try. We had lamb Haneeth and it was soo tender and juicy. Rice is yummy. Hummus is creamy. Dawn was our waitress and she was AMAZING. Everything was exceptional. Thank you Abdul for the great service.
