The National Tap & Grille

The restaurant accommodated our group of 26 people. Our two waiters were amazing. They were always there when we needed something. They literally thought of everything! The food was exceptional too! But really I can say enough about the waiters!

LOVE! It’s not all the time where a restaurant gets 5 stars across from me. Our server Nick was awesome!! I was with a large party and literally NO complaints from anyone. Delicious food and drinks! Will absolutely visit again on my next adventure to the Island!

The food at The National was fantastic! My favorite was the lobster salad! It was so light and delicious perfect for a nice lunch before exploring and there was a ton of lobster! The clam chowder was also fantastic and I highly recommend it!

Definitely stop by for a meal while on Block Island you will not be disappointed!

The lobster pasta was so amazing!!! The only complaint was when I was there a lot of the options on the menu you couldn’t order since they didn’t have clams, chickens, or fries in stock.

Having dinner here made my day on the island. I was early (4:30) but the fish & chips were out in less than 10 minutes, and I probably finished it in the same time since it was excellent. The lemon-lime tartar sauce they provide is one of the best I’ve had. Coupled with shady outdoor seating and prime views of the harbor, it could not have been better!

The National Hotel Tap and Grille is an excellent place to get great quality food and drinks. Everything we had here over the last weekend of the season was top notch. Outdoor seating on the balcony is the way to go for enjoying your meal with a view out over the harbor and ocean, not to mention people watching. Fantastic atmosphere and very good service at a price that is quite reasonable. Highly recommended!

Lovely nostalgic harbor front location. We sat outside on the front porch.
Excellent Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich! Great Clam Chowder! Tasty Mixed Drinks!!! Caesar Salad was good. Swordfish Tacos with tortilla chips were alright. Service (Emily from Mass) was great, she was prompt, smart and knowledgeable about the food. She had a friendly demeanor about her that made us feel comfortable and happy on the last day of the season. Would recommend :) :) :) :)

My wife and I just stopped in for a couple of cocktails and were happy we did. We enjoy imaginative well crafted cocktails and we were not disappointed in our selections. The Great Salt Pond was among the best dirty martinis I've had and my wife enjoyed her Blue Reign which was a simple but tasty hard lemonade with a excellent blueberry vodka floater. We will be back to sample the inviting food menu. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked quite tempting.

Good location. Nice menu, great fresh seafood as you would expect. Patio seating has nice ocean view and people watching opportunities. Good service. Full bar. Food preparations were adequate but not great. Noise level was very loud.
