The Haversham

Arriving at 6:50 in peak-season on a Monday, we felt fortunate to secure a table given that call-ahead seating ceased at 4 pm. Despite being the seventh party in line, the wait was inconsequential due to the captivating grounds. Adorned with an array of vibrant flowers and a charming gazebo, the property provided a picturesque backdrop for family photos. Our seating near the bar, along with the thoughtful inclusion of water with lemon as we sat down, showcased the restaurant’s exceptional attention to detail, a trait I truly admire.

Upon entering, we were greeted by a captivating beach-themed window display, featuring a brain coral and a charming sandcastle mermaid—a delightful touch that added to the venue’s allure. In the bar area, an array of televisions adorned every wall, ranging from large screens to more intimate ones, creating a lively atmosphere for patrons. Notably, the bar’s extensive beer selection included impressively sizable options that caught our attention. This attention to detail and diverse offerings further enhanced our experience at The Haversham Tavern.

Our server, Crystal, added an element of fun to our dining experience. Her interactive approach with the young member of our group left him thoroughly entertained. The culinary offerings were exceptional as well. My choice, the pecan encrusted salad, was generously loaded with pecans, and the house cab wine proved to be a delectable choice. Each member of our party relished their meals, a testament to the kitchen’s prowess. The attentive and harmonious teamwork displayed by the entire staff was commendable.

The ambiance exuded a timeless charm reminiscent of 18th-century coastal New England, which harmoniously resonated with the building’s classic architecture. Given the exemplary experience, I wholeheartedly endorse The Haversham Tavern, and there’s no doubt that we’ll be returning. 5 stars for food, service and atmosphere. A heartfelt appreciation to Crystal and the entire crew for crafting an unforgettable dining adventure!

We're so happy we stopped here for a meal. We only had a little over an hour, but we had to stop after getting so many recommendations to eat here. We parked on the right side of the building, which ended up being their catering rental hall, which was absolutely beautiful, and everyone seemed to be having a great time. We then went to the left side of the building where we were immediately greeted by happy, cheerful staff. We have our names and went to check out the bar while we waited for only 10 minutes. The restaurant was warm, welcoming, and clean. We were seated fast and had our food within 20 minutes. Our waiter was awesome and on point. The presentation of the food was gorgeous, and there were no complaints about the flavor at all. The prices are reasonable, and we will definitely be stopping again. There we so many great choices on the menu.

I’ve been going since before it was The Haversham. The Haversham is a local gem. I’m here 30Oct 23, a Monday and it’s busy, not packed. I recommend the baseball steak, with baked potato ( butter and bacon ) and dinner salad with house dressing. Excellent. Don’t get there too early I don’t want them to run out😜

Favorite year-round restaurant in the Westerly area. Food and service are always consistent. The blackened chicken florentine is one of my favorite meals at any restaurant. They make good mixed drinks, have a large draft beer selection and no shortage of flat screens for whatever game(s) are on! Sit at the bar or at a high top in the bar area! The bartenders do a good job knowing who's been waiting for bar seats and usually insure a first come first seated system.

Excellent large, varied menu. Everything was exceptional. The service at the bar, superb. The food was delicious. Can't wait to go back!

The absolute best fish and chips I’ve ever had!

Everything on the menu is simply fantastic, if there is a wait , it's well worth it. The Staff are so friendly and go above and beyond , every time I have the opportunity to go to this fine establishment I never walk out disappointed.
The Portuguese clams are my favorite, I highly recommend you try them .

Great spot for a mid week bite or a weekend of football and drinks at the bar. Under $75 for 2 ppl w tip and 1 beverage each. Drinks are big enough to just have one. Burger was enormous and tasty. Ski lodge feel w a gas fireplace. Loads of TVs to watch the games, and a super friendly staff. The crowd was a mix of 70 somethings and 20 somethings. Deff a local place. No problem making this a go to place, when we don’t want to cook.

Had no idea.
We went with friends that we hadn't seen in about a year. They go here often with their family. So, here is what we enjoyed, calamari (they said it was great), pretzel sticks with beer cheese dip (awesome), 2 people had the Sham slam, so good, consisted of bourbon beef tips, boneless chicken, and 1/2 rack of ribs with 2 sides...the other 2 had fried whole belly clams, again they said very good. The food was really good and the service was excellent (our server was Crystal, she was outstanding, she knew the food, answering all our questions. ) The atmosphere was old style tavern, stone fireplace, wood everywhere. Give it a try.

My wife and spent a long time looking through wedding venues in Rhode Island, before deciding on The Haversham House. When we found it, it immediately felt like the right pick for us. The building is warm and inviting. We met Tara, the event coordinator, when going to look at the venue in person, and she was extremely helpful and professional. Once we decided to go with the Haversham, she helped us make food decisions and was very accommodating with all of our requests. On our wedding day, Tara made sure everything went smoothly. We received many compliments from guests about how beautiful the venue was and how wonderful the food was. The only issue we had was a difficulty getting ahold of Tara when we had questions because she was understaffed at the time. However, even with the communication issues Tara and her staff made sure our wedding went perfectly. We were extremely pleased with our experience at the Haversham and would recommend them as a venue to anyone.

Great place to grab a bite! The wings were awesome! I recommend the Old Bay option with blue cheese! the lobster roll was yummy but the dessert "Cinamon Dip Sundae" really was a head turner coming to the table.

I had the warm lobster roll which comes with a side of melted butter, and the lobster mac and cheese. Both were fantastic... Even the French fries were seasoned perfectly.
For the quality, well worth the cost.

I am a very critical reviewer. Most restaurants are horrible in CT and many in Rhode Island. This place was INCREDIBLE. NANCY, is amazing. She is the equivalent to having your doctorate in serving; literally incredible at her job. The food is insanely good. Shrimp, clams, lobster bisque.. you name it . Wonderful food & Nancy made it even Better. That woman should get a raise! What a great experience we had. Will 10000% be coming back. Had a perfect meal and a great time. A thousand thank yous.

Delicious cocktails and food, fairly priced, large menu with many options, outdoor seating was very nice

Absolutely amazing....food, drinks, friends and live music. Doesn't get any better than this. Service was phenomenal, drinks were on par, great company and the band that was playing are really life long friends. Never had a subpar meal here, food is always incredible. One of our favorite places to visit and we visit often.

After our very disappointing visit in the spring this dinner was back to their old standards. Wonderful service, good food, and a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend.

We went again about a week after the review above and again a salad was forgotten, no check in when our meals were served to see if we needed anything else and once we finished no offer or question about dessert or coffee. Just not the same as it used to be. Mainly the service.

The Portuguese clam app was good and the clam chowder soup was one of the best I had so far while visiting RI.

The flowers outside on the restaurant property were very beautiful!

We had a wonderful time at the Haversham. Our food was delicious! Our server Julie was excellent and gave our table her full attention! She was friendly and pleasant and made for a great dining experience.
