I haven't always had the greatest visits, consistently, over the years, but my last few have been nothing short of stress free, & extremely pleasant thanks to a wonderful employee by the name of Diana. She is truly one of the nicest ladies I have ever dealt with in the government sector, & she goes the extra mile to make sure your package is secure. Love her positivity, and speedy service.

I see some bad reviews here and would like to assure any current or future customers I will do my best to make sure you receive excellent service if I'm working.

The people at the Decatur Post Office on Mound are about the friendliess people you ever meet. I no sooner walked in that door and the clerk (Charles) greeted me with a smile and ask how he could help me. He was great and full of good useable information. These people need compliments not nails. They are great!!!

The young lady who worked behind the counter between the hours of 10am-11am was very gracious and kind! She showed great patience and was very customer oriented.

I came here over my lunch hour to get an expedited passport service completed. Norm took care of me right away and got me out in a hurry with a smile- such excellent customer service!! Thanks Norm!

My fiance made an apt to have his passport done here. I filled out his paperwork and sent him after work to his apt. Well I filled out the paperwork in the wrong color pen and the person who helped him in the apt helped him to fill it out correctly without complaining about it at all! I also come here every time I have to mail something and I have never once had an issue! Everyone has always been really nice and considerate and working the best they can with everything we have going on. I also live on a rural route on a busy street and I have never had a problem getting my mail or packages. Sometimes the garbage trucks pose an issue when they throw the cans everywhere blocking the mailboxes but I always just get my mail the next day with a note saying why they couldnt deliver the day before which I totally understand. I maybe a rural route but my street isnt really safe to just hop out of their truck on. Ive even met my mail lady a few times she seems really nice. I would just like to say good job since you guys dont get the credit you deserve!

Caution: Beware of Lost Packages and Unprofessional Service

I feel compelled to share a cautionary tale about my experience with this post office. Unfortunately, I’ve had multiple packages go missing after being sent through here. What’s worse is the appalling behavior of the supervisor. They are not only rude and disrespectful but also deceitful when it comes to tracking packages. It’s disheartening to encounter such unprofessionalism, especially from someone in a leadership position.

It seems there may be some foul play involved with packages disappearing, leading customers like myself to endure the hassle of filing claims. If you’re expecting a delivery from this location, I strongly advise purchasing insurance and staying vigilant by frequently checking on the status of your package.

Overall, the way this post office conducts its business is unacceptable and warrants further investigation. Proceed with caution.
