Arusuvai Virunthu (ASV)

Comparable to home food. Absolutely minimal oil usage. Affordable pricing and great variety of options from Southern India. I’d highly recommend checking out this place. I loved the taste and quality of the food. We tried their thali, combo thali, rasam soup and filter coffee. Everything was very well made with less oil while making sure the taste is not compromised.

They can work on the atmosphere a bit.

I ordered Kara masala dosa after tasting had to order 1 more , very tasty & fresh .

If you're interested in authentic South Indian vegetarian fare you'll leave this place very happy. As you enter the place brings in the smells of a restaurant in Chennai. My litmus test for a good South Indian restaurant is their ability to make good coconut chutney. This was one of the best chutneys I have had in the US and I can't count more the 2 others in the US. On their Thali, every item tasted delicious. That is very rare too. Kudos to the chef for making this memorable and thanks to the wait staff for their attention.

The ordering process is chaotic and I hope they will iron this out. The place has some storage containers and boxes giving you a feel of eating in a warehouse but I guess that will get better too.

On my next visit, I found the food quality getting even better. The ordering process is still chaotic. They make up for that with reasonable and attentive service.

We became regular customers as the taste is always consistent and close to family food taste. We sometimes takeout if we are not feeling well as the food is very kid friendly. The manager and staff are excellent and always taking care of customers. The cleanliness of environment and staff are the reason we chose to go here. Wish they grow big and hats off to the team. The kitchen is super clean and love veg options.

Came here for a short dosa stop and was not disappointed. We got the ghee podi masala dosa, ASV Thatte idli, kara dosa, and it was outstanding!The masala was also honestly good. Chutneys and sambar were outstanding as well. Overall, I can totally see why this place gets packed on the weekends and evenings. So, come early before it gets crowded.

Great food. Get crowded especially yesterday was packed when we went. You can tell how good the food is by the crowd. Best vada in my opinion I ever had in U.S. so fresh!!! Great food and great service.

Came all the way from Sunnyvale just to try their food, and i'm not disappointed at all. Had their ghee masala dosai, it was huge. Benne Masala and their thali were fantastic. It was definitely worth a trip. Nice way to end our dinner with superb madras filter coffee. Recommend to anyone who wants authentic, and I mean it authentic South indian food which you get back in tamil Nadu.

This is a very nice South Indian restaurant started five months ago in Pleasanton. We ordered medhu vada and masala vada for appetizer, filter coffee and mango lassi for beverage, poori kurma, kara masala dosa and rava Dosa for mains. The food was really tasty especially the condiments on the side. The sambhar was one of the best that I have tasted here. The mint chutney and onion chutney also was really tasty. I requested the filter coffee to be strong and it was strong and served in the steel cup and saucer. The people were really kind and polite and provided is with extra servings of Sambhar chutney. Overall I am glad to have found nice south Indian restaurant nearby.

But kept very clean and customer service is great. Very good South Indian restaurant. Very tasty dishes. They exceed in every thing they cook from their menu. Good peaceful atmosphere. Great to go there once every week. Or at-least once in 15 days for a change. Love these people and love the food at this restaurant. I have gone to eat at so many other restaurants in the Bay Area horrible rate and don’t feel like going again. But not at this Arusuvai Virubthu restaurant. May god bless the cooks & the manager for their humble simplicity.

Amazing food, it was extremely busy today since they opened Monday for the first time I guess. Service was bit slow due to busy other than that everything was amazing as always.

Great food. It was recommended by my friends who been here few times. I used to drive it to Sunnyvale for south Indian food but I'm glad that I found one close to my residence. Tried their Thali, dosa and appetizers. It was excellent and their chutney were phenomenal. Thick and tasty unlike other restaurants we've been to. This restaurant deserves multiple visits. Service were great too.

Consistently good quality, south indian (especially Tamilnadu style) food. This place makes the basic items such as idli, dosai, vadais and pongal perfect. Many other restaurants screw up getting their basics wrong with fluctuating quality but we never had that issue with Arusuvai.

Their weekend thali menus offer great variety with some unique items included. Also, their filter coffee is the best you can get in the tri valley area!

We took Catering for Pooja at home, food was divine , Bisi Bele Bath, Veggie Kurma, Vadas and Sabji was too good. Their service, quality, time management, co-operation with customers was very good. A definite must go place for pure veggie menu

Top notch food. Some of the best South indian I've had in the Bay Area. I visited them all the way from Fremont and by the time we sat, the place was full for lunch.

Food tastes really good here. Felt like authentic south Indian meals. There are so many curry varieties for lunch and price is reasonable. Service is also good and near.
Ample parking in front and it has lots of stores like Walmart and other restaurants nearby.

Fantastic food. Kara masala Dosa was biiiiig and crispy. Masala vada was crunchy and idli was really soft. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Mango lassi also wasnt sour like some other restaurants. Would keep coming.

Food here was excellent. My 8 year old son loves their Cheese Dosa and Paneer Tikka Masala. Everything tastes great and service is quick. We have gone now two weeks in a row cause my son can't stop talking about it. Normally we are not Vegetarian, but when in the mood for some good Dosa's, this is now our place to go. Was also very impressed with the Pineapple Kesari this last time, very light and tasted sweet and yummy. Picture is of the Kara Masala Dosa and a nice variety of chutneys and sambar.

I would even give more than 5 stars for the taste. And this is coming from a Tamil guy so rest assured. We tried the breakfast combo and thatte podi idli and immediately felt like back in my hometown.

The food was incredible and the service was even better. The whole staff was so helpful and made sure we had a wonderful experience. The chutneys and sambar were so good we had to have seconds.

The best dosas in Dublin. Period. We love everyone here and it’s like family. They go out of their way to provide a service that’s beyond what’s on menu. Great dosas and a very richly flavored Sambar. We love it here!!

Excellent taste of food here! Loved all the items we ordered. The onion rava dosa was so thin and delicious!
