Sonic Drive-In

This review is for Canadians who haven't tried Sonic yet.

Just tried Sonic for the first time in my life, went twice for drinks and once for breakfast. If you are visiting the states from Canada, this seems to be an excellent stop for drinks and to experience the drive-in style menu/parking/service. It was much preferred to a typical drive-thru. The drinks come with those little round slushy ice cubes, which I think are great. The diet (cherry) limeades were awesome, I'll try the iced teas with fruit infusions next time.

For breakfast I tried an ultimate meat and cheese burrito, which was probably the best breakfast burrito I've had at a fast food place (but, coming from Canada, my breakfast burrito experiences are limited). It was loaded with tasty bacon and sausage. The salsa went nice on the burrito. I also had the 3 piece (3 is enough for a taste) Cinnabon Cinnasnacks, which were heavenly. If you are visiting from Canada, don't miss these sweet, fried, tasty treats.

Update March 2023: we returned a bit less than a year after first posting my review. While we were there around 3pm to order breakfast, I think that breakfast items should be fairly similar throughout the day if they are being offered. This time around, the "Ultimate Meat and Cheese" burrito was literally around half of the size we had previously experienced. Not sure what happened. Disappointed with the size/cost but still tasted great.

Friendly staff at this location, service us fast but takes longer on large orders. Staff takes responsibility for mistakes and will quickly fix it for you. Always a great visit for ice cream with 1/2 priced shakes after 8pm

We were just there around 230 PM and the service was fast and great and the food was great and fresh.

Whoever is on shift during lunchtime makes the most amazing Bacon Double Cheeseburgers I've had in awhile.

It's a drive in like the A&W of the past. There is a problem with the ordering from the pull up your car menu system. We ordered a full slate of food and shakes for 4 of us and it never came! They thought we were in the drive thru! Went inside and they still had our order sitting in the corner of the drive thru food spot! They apologized and made new fresh everything which is nice but such a waste of food! The next day we stopped for drinks at happy hour at a different drive up spot and they were about to make the same mistake again until we specifically told them we were not in the drive thru, then they had to ask which spot we were parked in! That's crazy, we have never run into this before and we have been at this location several times in the past! Train your employees or better yet fix your ordering system!
Food and drinks were good however will need to remember to tell them go light on the ice as our limeaids were mostly ice.

Food is fresh, ice cream is always awesome with the best toppings, always something new to eat with combining menu items. Sonic is awesome.

We were on a family vacation with 6 of us. We were going to door dash, but it was going to cost $120 to do so.
We drove to sonic at 9pm, placed this huge order and the gentleman did it with no attitude or complaints whatsoever.
The order was made perfectly with no mistakes! It's rare these days to get decent service and good food!

Food is typical diner/fast food type. But the shakes and limeades etc, are amazing. I love the ease of using the app, and the food comes out SO fast when I order in the app.

Good place for quick eats... only if they're menu system works outside. Other than that good 👍

Ate at a Sonice once like 15 years ago and only got a hotdog. Decided to try it again and we got bbq wings, buffalo wings, tots, jalapeño poppers and cherry lime aid.... all amazing. They wings were the biggest surprise you got a lot for your buck and the BBQ sauce was fabulous. Cherry lime aid did not disappoint. We have decided when we are in town this is our stop.

I was excited when I heard the city of Grand Forks was building a sonic. I was pretty bummed when I found out they were building a drive in instead of a giant blue hedgehog. Nevertheless, the food here is good and they offer drive in only. You can't go into the store. I tried once and they yelled at me.

Food is always just how we ordered it and extremely tasteful. I personally love all their beverages, I have not tried one I don't like yet. A++

My Order was taken by Andrew. We were indecisive of what to order and Andrew was very patient with us and waited until we were ready. Great Customer service. The restaurant was also very clean and the rest of the staff was very friendly. Ryan the manager was very professional as well.

Very friendly staff. The food was warm and tasted fresh. Didnt have to wait too long even with a long line. Altogether it was very good and i will come back and eat again.

We went there late in the evening. We ate inside and the staff were very happy to see us and treated us very well despite the late hour. The food was great and the restaurant was really clean.
