Schat's Bakery & Cafe

Delicious food. Their gluten-free bread is some of the best I've had. It is good compared to regular bread too, not just gluten-free bread. I got a loaf of it (only sold on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays), and a sandwich with it.

Order online cause anything other than baked goods takes FOREVER. Having said that, I never had anything from here that wasn’t absolutely delicious. Can’t go wrong with anything, try it all. I especially love that they offer local products as well (the balsamic vinegar is the best I’ve ever had). Support your local restaurants, they are truly one of a kind gems that can’t be replicated!

What an excellent find for good breakfast, pastries and coffee delights. The scrambles are very good, just be mindful of the portion sizes, they are large and plentiful.
The coffee options are very good espresso selections. Their cookies are all excellent.

We ordered a pastrami sandwich and the meat had a very good aromatic flavor. The pastrami slices were a bit thick. Some people prefer shaved pastrami, but this one tastes good as is.

Next time we’ll need to try more of the lunch menu.

Can't believe I didn't know that Shats was in Ukiah. I've been to the Shats in Bishop, CA many times. These guys have great sandwiches and killer pastries, cakes and pies! The cookies are pretty sweet as well... Highly recommended!

Stopped in here for lunch on my way through Ukiah and it was every bit as good as I had hoped it would be. I picked up a selection of treats, and yet there was still so much to try that I'll just have to plan another trip in order to sample them all. Not sure if it's the same Schat's bakery as found in other places around the state, but regardless it's just as good! Overall Schat's bakery has amazing food and very fine atmosphere; with lots of large windows to let in ample natural light, and the interior is homey and welcoming. There is a large amount of seating, most indoors, but plenty outside as well.

I always enjoy visiting Schat's while in Ukiah. Delicious Cobb Salad with ample avocado and chicken. All their salads are well constructed and very healthy. Delicious éclair and cheesecake slices and a great selection of tasty cookies. Daily soups hit the spot, love the taco soup and chicken noodle, especially on colder days. A host of cold and hot sandwiches which always satisfy. Schat's is a great place to meet up with friends/family and get the latest town news. Cap it off with a casual stroll around the surrounding blocks and check out the local shops, very relaxing.

I'm new to Ukiah. When I asked some friends about good local places to eat, everyone had Schat's on their list. After my first visit I know why. When you walk in the door you're greeted with a smile and a welcome. There's a complete menu to satisfy your hunger no matter what time of day. And the bakery cases are filled with homemade treats. Everything I've tried has been great. All good values for a fair price. Schat's is one of my all-time favorite bakeries.

An ALWAYS go-to lunch stop in Ukiah. Really delicious sandwiches, reliably good soups on a cold winter day, hearty salads, and the cookies come in delicious variations. A real gem in Ukiah’s older downtown district, for those of us who want to avoid the outlying shopping centers.

Went back to give this place another try. Ordered online and got the Cobb wrap. Delicious. It was fast a easy. It worked out great. I will definitely be going back. Great selection.

Great atmosphere, wonderful staff, delicious lunch items and baked goods. My absolute favorites: chicken cashew salad and pecan chewies.

This bakery is a testament to the town. The floor boards were shipped from abroad, it really gives a lot of character to the business. Everything we had was delicious, there's always something else you wish you tried. Definitely stop by and check it out
