Good country cooking. We had chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and fried okra, and hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and crinkle fries. And a piece of Texas toast to go with them both. Fast friendly small town service.

HAD SOME OF THE BEST HOME COOKED FOOD I HAVE HAD AT A RESTAURANT IN A LOOOONG TIME! If you want to eat some food that tastes like your grandma was the one in that kitchen cooking, THIS IS THE SPOT! Let me also tell you, I had one of the BEST cups of Coffee I have had at a restaurant ever, I know that is a strange thing to say, but it is true! Everyone should definitely give them a visit. Best part of all, it’s locally owned!

From the few times I’ve been there I have been really impressed. The portions are huge compared to other restaurants. The waitstaff is inviting and helpful. Just all around a good time with good food

Amazing home cooked food. This is a gem and the owner Tommy is amazing, he hand cooked our food and even sat down to answer some questions about Elgin

I've been here twice in the last couple of weeks. First time I had the brisket and sausage plate. In my opinion, this was some of the best brisket I've had in town. I came back and tried their hamburger steak with onions and gravy. The mashed potatoes are homemade and tasted wonderful.

Oh, and be sure to get a glass of sweet tea. Unlike most places that seem to have more sugar than tea, the Elgin Cafe has a great balance where you can still taste the tea.

This place is a gem. Great people and great food. Never disappointed. I ordered biscuits and gravy. Also ordered a hamburger steak both to go. He put them in separate containers but I added them all in one for a photo for y’all. So much flavor and you can tell it’s all made with love. Highly recommend. Plus supporting a local business here that truly deserves it.

Oh my goodness, were we ever surprised! Small little place but the food was oh, so good! Breakfast is served all day and the pancakes were so fluffy and delicious! The scrambled eggs were some of the best I have ever eaten and the salsa was homemade and fresh! We plan on going again soon while it is still a well kept secret!

We had hamburgers and they were very good! We had the fried Pickles and they fabulous great service!

Tried this new place out for the first time today, ordered a couple breakfast tacos to go. I thought they were a bit small for the price but VERY tasty, so I was happy! I thought the salsa was delicious too. Can’t wait to return soon and stay for a meal in their nice little dining area. My first impression: Great job y’all! 👍🏼

Whenever I visited they were my favorite breakfast spot. I came in yesterday and went to eat and it had a sign saying permanently closed.

Im going to start off by saying this was one of my favorite dinning experiences in a while. When we walked in I wasn't sure what to expect. She isn't the belle of the ball lookswise but the food was outstanding and the people running it were so friendly and genuine.

We were handed the menu and it's pretty much a printed list in a folder 😆 but we talked to a gentleman in there. He made some suggestions, he assured us the food was delicious and homemade. We ordered the load baked potato and the cheeseburger. The man then got up to go to the kitchen and prepared the food. The food was in fact delicious.

The brisket had amazing flavor and the so did the burger. It's a pretty magical little place. It felt like going over to a family members house and eating food there.

Small town feel. Solid food. Pancake big as the plate. 2 was too many for me. Bacon was great. Great prices. Kind service. The stuff I miss. Glad to know I can get away to a spot like this. Only issue...no grits 😆 lol

Chicken fried steak is the best I have found in Elgin. The mashed potatoes home made and all for under 10.00. I would give 10 stars if I could. It’s small and good country food. Check it out. Breakfast all day. Owner is so friendly.

05/03/2023 First time going today Double bacon cheese burger, lettuce, tomatoes,bacon added,mayo, mustard like a burger at home delicious will definitely go again to try something else and owners I assume very friendly, seemed very homey thank y'all.

Came here tonight to try something new for my birthday! Totally awesome! Catfish was marvelous! Baked potato was huge. Green beans fresh snapped. Gave me peach cobbler for my birthday present. Homemade, home cooked deliciousness.

Been here several times and have always enjoyed the food.
A very good place to eat

Food was great
Service was great.
Breakfast taco was very tasty (needs better salsa though).
Biscuits and gravy were very tasty (well seasoned and super peppery).
Hamburger steak was full of flavor and hit the spot.

The Chicken fried steak is awesome! The mashed potatoes are not instant and we're great. Excellent gravy and iced tea. Nice folks taking care of the patrons. Highly recommend giving them a try.

This is where I like to eat when I get time off and don’t feel like cooking and it feels like I can still get a home cooked meal. It’s a great experience if I dine in or order out. Everyone is very friendly and was very patient with me if I have any menu questions.

Great home cooked style place. Very nice service. Loved their fluffy pancakes.
