Scott's Stone Carving Classes

Scott is a great teacher, and he creates a wonderful atmosphere for learning at any skill level! My partner and I had no prior experience with sculpture, and we both had a blast despite being complete newbies. Regardless of whether I continue with stone carving, I left the class with fun memories and a new appreciation for the art form.

Amazing class! My wife and I brought our four kids (24, 22, 20 and 15) to the Saturday class as an early holiday gift. What a gift it was! We learned a ton, got great hands on experience and each left with our own work of art. The vibe was just right and the space was clean and functional. All the parking you need which made the travel super easy. Scott is not only an incredible sculptor but a fantastic teacher - we will be back for sure! Thank you!!

I'm learning so much while continuing my journey of falling in love with rocks! Stone carving is a beautiful art form that deserves more attention and I believe Scott is doing an amazing job on his part. Plus it's downright fun... I highly recommend this class!!!

I have been taking Scott's classes for six years and they are stellar. These aren't formal classes where you're expected to sculpt a set of specific forms but he allows you to discover a dialog with the stone at your own pace so the ultimate form is your collaboration with the stone. Scott will provide you with the tools and clear advice as to how to use them and let you experiment by yourself whilst regularly checking in with you to see how you're progressing. He always provides sage advice to any questions and help if you're encountering a period where you feel stuck. The stone used is alabaster, which come in many colors. The studio is nice and climate controlled and the group of carvers is a great mix of people. Stone carving is a wonderful and exploratory process, particularly since it's very tactile and in three dimensions. It's especially rewarding if you have a career which relies more upon linear logical thinking. Strongly recommended!

This sculpting school is so much fun and Scott is a great instructor. I highly recommend!
