We are very happy with the custom frames that we ordered from Great Road Gallery. Julie took time to meet with me to review the many framing options. Her recommendations for the mat and frames complemented the pieces and each one fits perfectly in our home. With her background in art, she understands that subtle choices like mat width, frame style, glass type and white space can truly enhance the art. It was reassuring to know if I was not happy then I could bring the frame back and she would work with me to update it. Now I know why so many artists go to Great Road Gallery to frame their own work- we will definitely take our future projects there and I will highly recommend it to others.

I am so happy that we found Julie at Great Road Gallery & Framing! We were looking to support an independent business and I was so pleased to learn that it’s also a woman-owned business.

My husband and I were looking to frame our wedding ketubah which I had custom designed by a female artist in Israel. It traveled from Israel to the US, and then to Italy and back with us for our wedding. Originally we went into a Framebridge store to have it done. We made our frame selections and watched them safely package it up to the warehouse, only to have it returned and damaged in a flappy paper UPS envelope because Framebridge had made a mistake with the dimensions and couldn’t frame our piece due to its depth!

We were so disappointed in the damage that was done that we decided to find an independent framer to try to fix and frame our piece.

Julie was so warm, enthusiastic, and thoughtful when we showed her the piece and explained our design goal. She took great care and attention to detail in cleaning it up and making it perfect for framing. We can’t believe the transformation and the quick turnaround. We are so thrilled we found Julie and her team. We’ve returned with 3 more pieces for framing! Thank you Julie!!

My wife and I had two wedding photos framed here and they came out BEAUTIFUL. Julie was so helpful, she helped us pick frames that were elegant and fit our pictures wonderfully. I would absolutely recommend coming here.

Julie, the owner, is incredibly knowledgeable, thoughtful, conscientious, friendly, and skilled. She listens to what her clients want, but she isn’t shy about sharing her expertise when it comes to choosing frames and mattes. Julie worked in an art museum previously and has a great eye for what will look beautiful and fit the vibe of the piece she is framing. She takes as much time as is necessary to find the right frame and matte for each piece. I have had many pieces framed at Great Road Gallery & Framing over the last 5 years, and I have been very happy and satisfied with all of them!

We were recently given a small decorative rug that was so beautiful we decided it should be framed. The people at Great Road Gallery spent almost an hour with us going over all our options. It's gorgeous!

I recently brought two unusual items in to Great Road Gallery & Framing to be custom framed. The items are a vintage 78rpm phonograph record that is 1/4" thick and quite heavy, and also a large poster dating from the 1930's that is dry and brittle.

These items were quite a challenge to design and construct frames for. Prior to visiting Great Road Gallery & Framing, I had reservations about the display challenges presented by these two unusual objects. However, from the moment that I met Julie, the owner and proprietor, I realized that my precious historical artifacts were in the right hands.

Julie listened to me explain my design concepts, and then responded in detail with her creative vision for executing what I envisioned. Her suggestions and explanations were always spot on; her hands-on skills were flawless; and Julie is a pleasant and professional person to deal with at all times.

Although in this case I was more interested in results than cost savings, I was pleasantly surprised at the reasonable prices. Furthermore, Julie gave me a timeline to complete my projects and actually finished both projects ahead of schedule.

All-in-all, my two custom framing projects came out fantastic, and my experience collaborating with Great Road Gallery & Framing was a positive one. I am so glad I gave Great Road Gallery & Framing a try, and I am certain that anyone who wants quality framing will be likewise satisfied.

We recently had four large pieces framed by Julie at Great Road Gallery & Framing. Julie presented us with many beautiful and interesting options for the mats and frames, ones we wouldn't have been able to think of on our own. The final choices really brought out different aspects of the pieces and made the art pop.

Julie was especially creative in helping us come up with a way to link together two separate pieces that we wanted to hang as a set. The pieces had been purchased together on a trip to Japan, but they were different in their colors and style, so we were very pleased by how Julie was able to make them a set. The frame she helped us choose fit very well with the style of the pieces and reminded us of some of the places we had visited on our trip.

All four of our pieces were thin fabric and required dry mounting. The finished products looked great! Throughout the whole process Julie was knowledgeable and friendly. We highly recommend her work and will definitely return to her store for any other things we need to frame in the future!

Recently (Aug 2023) got a slightly complicated framing job done in memorial of my passed-away pooch friend and a piece of art involving a paper-craft dog poster from Japan. The staff were tremendously helpful with setting up the framing, helping me choose parameters, and did an excellent job on the actual framing as well.
Price was high, but the job was a little more complicated than normal and the frame was a particular material. I definitely will come back here for any future framing jobs I have, and will send friends and family members here as well. I compared this location with 2 other local options and the combined friendliness of the staff with the wide choice of options for all things framing made me choose this business over other cheaper but less friendly and caring options.

I've been taking items to the gallery for 26 years, ever since I moved to Lexington. I've never been disappointed! Bud has always been friendly and helpful. Now Julie has continued the wonderful tradition of personal service, and a great eye for color, composition, and texture. Here's just one example of an item that I took to the gallery. I wanted to be able to handle these replica Hawaiian war instruments while still displaying them, and Bud came up with this wonderful solution! I won't take my precious pictures or other items anywhere else!

Great work (no pun)! I had a number of concert and other prints framed here including these beauties. Julie had great suggestions and I couldn't be happier. Price was certainly reasonable for the quality. I will absolutely be back.

My family has been getting their art framed here for the better part of 25 years. They have handled our priceless antique art prints and paintings and given expert advice on everything from the frame, mat, and type of glass. They have an incredible range of options and are super friendly!

Julie always does a wonderful job framing and matting all of our images! She has great suggestions that make the end product come out better than we had hoped, and she’s happy to do custom work as well. We have found our frame shop for years to come.

We first met Julie when my husband and I took in objects that had a lot of sentimental value to us. Julie skillfully guided us through a large assortment of frames and mats and we ended up with what look like works of art.
A week later I took in a photograph for framing. That ended up being more challenging than we anticipated but it gave us the opportunity to see that Julie goes above and beyond for her customers.
Also, she is absolutely delightful to work with!
