Cream & Amber is a staple spot for me and the owners -- best friends running a community bookstore/cafe -- are essentially living out my dream/fantasy.

Food/Drinks:
-Rose Cardamom Latte: This might be one of my new favorite coffee beverages PERIOD. It was so good! The rose is definitely present and carries the drink until the end when the cardamom takes over. I think this is a seasonal drink and I'm already mourning when it's taken off the menu.
-Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies: These are delicious, especially if you happen to catch them as they're coming out of the oven!
-Lavender Bread: I love lavender and this bread doesn't disappoint!
-Great local beers and ciders on tap.
-Lots of salads, sandwiches, etc.

Parking: I never have an issue parking. There is street parking out front and a small lot out back.

Renting/Reserving Space: There are desks and offices that you can rent upstairs, otherwise you can reserve the community room ($25 per hour) or a large free table.

All in all? This is a lovely community spot with really wonderful staff, food, books, and more! I can't recommend it enough.

The cutest coffee and bookstore you’ll come across! The seasonal coffee drinks are spectacular as well. The books are diverse and plentiful!

I went to Cream and Amber for the first time this weekend and I was impressed the reviews did not oversell the experience.

A friend recommended I check out this cute reading café, so I gave it a shot. What I found was a lovely space with an even more welcoming staff. It was clear the people running the show are the same people who could want to spend their time there.

It is a cozy space with appropriately lively energy - many familiar greetings and warm conversations to provide a comfortable background for reading. ♥

I have always loved the concept of a combination bookstore and cafe, and Cream and Amber does it so well. To top it off, they also have some nice beer and wine. Covering your reading, study, and casual meeting needs all times of day!
The servers have always been kind and responsive on my many morning visits. The menu for food is not long, but C&A does a good job with their sandwiches. The book selection focuses on recent fiction, emphasizing the LGBTQ+ community.
Dogs are welcome on the outside patio.

This is my FAVORITE local bookstore! Every time I stop in, I find a hidden gem of a book. Sometimes it's one I have been looking for, and sometimes it's something unexpected and new! I love that they have both new and used books... and their coffee and gifts are amazing too. 10/10 all around!

One of the best bookstores in the Twin Cities. Awesome variety on their menu, especially for the size of the place. Book selections are abundantly inclusive, engaging, relevant topics. Easy to find titles. The atmosphere is perfect for large book club meetings or small individual work sessions. In the warm months, they are super friendly to dogs on their cozy outdoor patio.

Cream and Amber is an absolute delight! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I’ve never had to wait long for what I’ve ordered. Whether you’re sitting up at the bar or at one of their tables, it’s a great atmosphere. The baristas are friendly and kind and provide excellent service. I love the book selection, and the local events they put on. C&A has a loyal customer in me.

One of the best experiences I've had at a coffeeshop in the twin cities area. I unfortunately ordered a drink I didn't like, and they were happy to provide a replacement at no extra charge. The kindest thing possible. The atmosphere is so nice with a beautiful community space with local art decorated everywhere. Food is fantastic, great range of books, cute stickers, awesome service, there's really no complaints at all, just compliments!!

It's always been nice that they have food options, and they've gotten even better over time! The house coffee specials are delicious, and they have a good and diverse selection of books. The staff recommendations are a good offering. And I always find cute gifts there!

I’m so thankful that my friend recommended this place to me! A great mixture of books to choose from, both new and used, delicious coffee (6 rotating beers on tap too), and yummy cafe food. They also have a community room that you can reserve! I’ll definitely be going to a few of their Wednesday open mic nights this summer. Love it!

I was walking with my friends around the area of Hopkins and I stumbled upon this cafe. It looked like a small and cute cafe so I decided to walk in and see what they had. They had a small variety of pastries displayed as well as coffee, paninis and even more. I’ve been here on the weekend and weekdays for the last 2 weeks and my personal favorite is the weekend bakers baked goods. I’m not a muffin person but I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a muffin, and I must say it was a delightful treat! The muffin had a perfect balance of moistness and texture, with just the right amount of sweetness. The flavors were harmonious, and it was clear that high-quality ingredients were used in its preparation. I particularly appreciated the subtle hints of tartness and the generous amount of blueberries that added a delightful surprise in every bite. It was not overly large, which made it a perfect snack for my friends and I to split. Overall, this muffin was a true delight, and I would highly recommend it to anyone in search of a delicious baked treat around the Hopkins area.

I’ve found this place like a week ago, and the pastries on the weekends are always so good. I recommend going on weekends. The baker there makes such good pastries. I’m not really a person with a sweet tooth but once I tried those pastries they were so delicious. This is one of my favorite places to go.

I swear that every time I stop in for a coffee, I leave with a new book (and a lot of the time, a new sticker, new coffee beans, new stationary,etc..). The specialty drinks are always fabulous and trivia nights on the patio are a great time!
