Wonderful and unexpected place to get a great lunch! What seems like a hole in the wall place, seems to be where I find the most flavorful food and experience!

The staff are super friendly and welcoming! Fast service and a great meal! The chips were crispy, salsa was well balanced and not overpowered with cilantro like most places! I ordered the Mexican plate and chose chicken enchiladas and double crispy tacos! The tacos stayed crispy throughout the meal and never got soggy like most do, the enchiladas were filled with flavorful chicken! Definitely got my money worth!

Tortillas were outstanding and in my top 3 of best in San Antonio!

We showed up around 10AM on a Sunday with three people and said we would have at least four more, or maybe eleven more. They didn't blink. They have a big table in the back that seats 10, which they gave us, and we eventually had nine. The place was packed by 10:30, but service was great. The food was all delicious. The corn tortillas are made there and were excellent. Prices were totally reasonable. Definitely want to go back.

We have been here during the week and it's crowded since they share a parking lot with a Dr.'s office and other businesses. But today was Sunday at 10:15 am, I did not expect an available table and was not looking forward to a wait. The crowd did not show up until 10:30, we snuck in before the after church rush!!! As always, Oblate Cafe delivered. The food was great. The Carne Guisada was tender and delicious. The chilaquiles and migas were eaten in a flash. Now the tortillas had to be the best I've tasted outside of a relatives kitchen. Come hungry!

Food is good. Their tortillas are a tad too thick IMO but the inside is amazing. Super friendly and fast service. The atmosphere is a typical old school tex mex restaurant

The breakfast tacos are the best in San Antonio. I travel to San Antonio twice a week and make sure I visit at least once a week. Great food, great value.

So comfortable and casual for an enjoyable meal. The prices are reasonable and the food delicious. I am a fan of flautas and these were perfect. I recommend for good Tex-Mex.

Went in for a couple of tacos which were outstanding. The carne guisada with cheese was very tasty and the meat was tender. The country with eggs, sausage, and gravy had very good flavor. Along with all that, the tortillas are homemade and very delicious. I'll be going back soon to try their lunch specials.

The Carne Guisada is the signature dish here and is excellent. The cheese enchiladas were made with red corn tortillas, which makes them perfect. The flour tortillas were homemade, and great was well. Hot sauce was good, but chips were cold and stail tasting but were free. Price was reasonable for what you get. Locally owned and operated, this family business really puts their heart into the food they make. This restaurant and Esmeralda's are two of the best hidden jewel Mexican restaurants in San Antonio.

Great food, Great prices, Great service 5 stars!
Best place to come for breakfast tacos. My favorite taco is defiantly the barbacoa tacos which you can only get on the weekends. The best part of the delicious tacos are the homemade flour tortillas, made fresh. So you better get in early so you don't have to wait cause they do get busy.

This place has been part of my life for 15 plus years it was a place my parents told me about and they loved how down to earth it was they have now gone to heaven and I still go there and have introduced it to many, the ladies have become like family, sisters, aunts, the family members we love to see we have cried together, we have celebrated birthdays together and for sure we have laughed together and we still do, Maria, Rosie, Sarah, Rubies, Flor and Joe one of the cooks and the rest of the staff are fantastic and the lady that makes the hot home made tortillas reminds me of those days when I was young and if you sit close to the kitchen door you can smell them being made like grandma's house, the food is great I haven't gotten tried of in 15 years breakfast, lunch, dinner can't go wrong, ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🤎❤❤🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎

A place that doesn’t have Christmas coffee cups is not even worth trying. Lol this place is awesome. We had the best service thanks to Maria, she took great care of us. Food was amazing and the coffee was great.

We had to come into town, I was meeting someone that had items for sale on the marketplace. While we were out, we decided to get a bite to eat. And... I hadn't had my coffee before we left. 🫢😅
I saw the Oblate Cafe, and I've heard they have the best tacos. I decided on the chiliqules plate, and hubs had huevos rancheros. And I got my coffee ☕😁 The tortillas were so fresh and good. We will definitely be back. Next time I want to try the Mexican plate and check out the pastries. 😋

Come here for breakfast and I am so glad we did. I had the oatmeal and it took me back to my childhood. Loved it.

I've been coming here since I was in third grade and the food has always been delicious and the waitresses treat you like family! I now bring my husband and we always get the usual: sweet tea and country and egg with gravy plate. From time to time we'll switch it up a bit but hands down the best plate on the menu !! And as if that isn't enough, the tortillas are the best you can get in town ! Fluffiest warm tortillas you could ever find period. I love this place with all my heart. Oblate cafe team y'all rock and hope you'll stick around 50 years more to bring my future kids, grandkids, great grandkids, etc 😆🩷🩷

I love my neighborhood café! I have ordered their breakfast tacos to go. I usually get Barbacoa and potato and egg tacos for breakfast. Today we just wanted to snack so we got a couple of Chalupas. I regret not having taken a photograph. They were so beautiful! And delicious!! Thank you Oblate Cafe we will return.
