Owner (or whoever was running the shop) was very helpful and excited to talk about model kits and anime. Good selection, and he’ll let you open the boxes and play with any of the display models to see how the poseability works. Would absolutely recommend for anyone interested in Gundam or anime in general.

I visited the shop last summer while I was in town from Tucson, AZ.. I didn't make any purchases; however, I was so impressed by the owner (Jared?) that I know I'll find something I want when I visit again this summer.

I've never been to a store where a person can actually open a kit to view its contents. Jared took time to show me where the various kits were located, then let me browse at my leisure. The shop itself it well-organized and has that wonderful model kit aromatic scent.

Before I left, he gave me a interesting and informative talk about his shop and product lines. And he shared stories about the various displays. IMO, this is how a specialty store should be operated. Thank you, Jared!

Owners are very knowledgeable of anime source material and love to talk about it, very passionate people!

Typically have some fun candy available that you won't find at Asian grocers.

Build Up has been an amazing hub for the local plastic model community and would list this as a "must visit" place for anyone interested in the hobby!

Place is really amazing specialy with all the figures you can build staff was super friendly and answered any and all qustions hope this place can make it does not feel like it's in a good location as the only reason we found this place is we were stopping by a Greek place

What a great store! I have mostly built military models and don't know much about the gunpla style model kits. I went in here looking for some decal solution, and ended up walking out with an Ma.K kit. The staff is great, they answered all the questions I had, and were really enthusiastic about telling me about this style of models. No Simpsons "comic book guy" attitude here towards newcomers, just friendly informative staff ready to help you get started. I probably could have spent an hour or more just looking at the huge selection and trying to decide on a kit.

Awesome place. The owners are very friendly and they have a huge selection of gundams, add-on kits, 30 mm and other types of bandi models.

Consistently helpful and friendly staff is always happy to take the time to offer advice and answer questions. Great place for both novice and experienced pla modelers.

First visit and found so many models that I wanted. The prices are great. I will be making the 39 minute drive to come back again.

This place is awesome. I've purchased about 4-5 things here now I think and each time is a great experience. I even live about 40 minutes away and still don't mind making the drive. Had an issue with the machine double charging my card and the owner handled it immediately! Even warned me right when it happened that I needed to check my bank and let him know if it did. And when it did he responded within 5 minutes of my message! Super trustworthy and I'll definitely be a good customer! Also there is a rewards program!

Was so sad to see the old location close down. Incredibly excited to see they were still around at a new location.
I have never been disappointed with the selection, and the people here know so much about models and paints.

Never seen a place like this for Models likes of Gunpla Caliber, I am so happy my best friend out this place because now it will be easier to get what I need for my big Kit Bash Project that I'm currently gearing up for.

Wonderful store full of everything a plamo builder could ask for. Very cozy, clean, and it's a ma & pa. Can't beat it. I visited from out of town and will be back if I'm ever in the KC area again.

Very friendly staff and knowledgeable about their products. Will definitely be back in the future. Also willing to hold products for a couple of days in case you can't make it out immediately or live a bit away like I do and post new shipments on their Facebook page.

this store is the bane of my existance. i was doing really good at handling my finances and then they open up a gunpla store right down road from me! They have an amazing staff, really good selection, prices similar to the original JP price, paints, accessories, and more! if there was any complaint i have its that they dont do custom orders, personally i wouldnt mind spending a bit extra to support a local business and fuel my addiction/hobby. If you're in kansas city and love gundam or mecha anime in general, i cant recommend this store enough! heres hoping itll catch on and be here to serve our gunpla needs for many many years to come!

Awesome place to go if you're into gunpla! Very clean little shop with pretty much everything you could ever want or need for building your models. Very decently priced, sometimes cheaper than what you can find online, plus you don't have to pay for the shipping from Japan and wait 8 months lol. Also, the guy working there was super nice and personable, sorry bud, I forgot your name, felt like we were best friends though just talking about gundams and what not. Super knowledgeable staff. Can't wait to return and get something new after I finish building sazabi.

Just got into gunpla with a friend of mine, so we started looking up stores that sell models. This awesome place popped up and it's amazing! And Lauren the employee helping us was wonderful and very knowledgeable. They have beautiful showcases featuring models and while the stock inventory was low at the time do to COVID they said the shelves will be packed once shipping gets back on track! Totally worth going to if you are a Gundam/Gunpla fan! I will be returning for future purchases!!!

It's about time there was a store like this! Not only does it have pretty much everything you would want from a Gunpla store, but the owners did their homework in making sure that they are there to stay, which is awesome to see. And from the look of things, they are only just warming up, they are only using about half the store right now with the other half being set up for even more for the customers, I can't wait. The prices are very fair and they are also working with local builders in their works, which is wonderful to see. My only complaint, this store is way too close to my home, I will end up going there a lot a spending all my money lol. Keep up the good work you guys.

While it's a small shop, they are very friendly and every time we go in every is new so twice a week we go in to see what we can find. They never disappoint, always so many new model kits we can't find anywhere else except online where it can take up to 8 months for the kits to arrive. Now I can find them here! If you build Japanese model kits you really need to come here!
