Born2Bagel

Place order at the front door and sat and waited for order. It was pretty quick. Not the most spacious place but has to be one of the best bagels I have ever eaten. It was very filling. The potato pancakes were delicious

I'm not sure how I missed it, but there's a new Bagel place in town and it's pretttttty awesome!

Born2Bagel isn't on the way to anywhere I go with any frequency and the only reason I know it existed was by looking at some of my Yelp friends profiles. Still, once I read a few reviews I was, like, "We have to go!"

(Ok, I admit it. I'm a Bagelholic.)

The interior is brightly coloured with white walls and black and yellow signage. There's not a huge seating area (there are only about ten tables) arranged in two- and four-tops. It's counter service, so you order at the register and sit and wait for your food.

On a Sunday we decided to visit for lunch. I had already perused the menu so I basically had an idea what I wanted (a turkey and swiss sandwich on an asiago bagel). I added a side of potato salad (one can only eat so many bags of chips.) Besides, it was Sunday lunch. I felt like being fancy.

Oh My, the options! A rough estimate I think they have at least 10 types of bagels and over a half dozen flavors of cream cheese. Add to that a variety of Boar's Head lunch meats (sliced on site) and some fresh veggies and you know it's going to be good. Drink options are limited to some canned and bottles waters, teas, and soft drinks.

Our food was delivered in less than ten minutes and when they say their bagel sandwiches are piled high, they mean it. It was huge! I had to kind of mush it in order to eat it. And It Was Delicious! There was something different about the potato salad. I don't know what it was, but it was REALLY good.

As we finished Jenn came out and asked how everything was and it was, of course, excellent. I had to comment on the potato salad, and she said they get a lot of compliments on it. I also got a bagel and cream cheese to go, specifically a jalapeño bagel and strawberry cream cheese. I know it sounds a bit odd, but Jenn suggested it and...wouldn't ya know it? She was right. It was amazingly good. I like that their jalapeño bagel has a slightly spicy kick at the end. HIGH-FIVE for that!

The only thing I would change would be to add a drink station. The selection of bottle and cans are good, but sometimes a fountain drink just hits the right spot. NOT a complaint at all and nothing that would ever stop me from coming back.

We will definitely be adding Born2Bagel to our Sunday lunch rotation. I really want to try Jenn’s famous Pizza Bagel.

Good food. Nice portions. Will go back. Note: I raised my review. In addition to sandwiches we took home 1/2 doz. Discovered the bagels like onion and everything had "toppings" on both sides of the bagel. Nice touch. Hope it wasn't a fluke!

Felt like I was on the east coast for a minute there! Really though, is there any other place you can get a Taylor ham, egg, and cheese bagel in KY? Bangin bagel sandwiches, kind and knowledgeable staff. I love that the owners can be found cooking up in the kitchen! A true family operation and I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Middletown:)

They never miss a beat. Thank you for being my jersey connection to delicious bagels. We recommend 100 percent. Great food and the people are even greater.

Easily the best (and safest) gluten free bagel I have ever had! 10/10 recommend. (Celiac safe, which is a huge plus!) My husband ate their regular bagel / breakfast and also gave it a 10/10 for taste and quality. The price was more than reasonable. We will be returning!

I used to live in NYC and both of my eldest daughters grew up teething on bagels (They are adults now). Yesterday, I had a craving for a good bagel with cream cheese and lox. It was 1:30pm and most bagel places here closed at 2pm, so I got on my phone and searched for the nearest one. I found one that I’ve never heard of before (their closing time is 2:30) and I called because I knew that I would get there right about quitting time, but the guy said, “No problem! Come on in!”.
When I arrived my bagels were hot and fresh. I got cream cheese with scallions and 1/4lb of lox. Everyone was so pleasant and I even got a free pumpernickel bagel to try. My bagels were soft but had that nice, dense chewiness I needed. The lox was perfection, very fresh and so tender that it would almost melt in my mouth. I have, in the past couple of years) been disappointed by lox that was firmer and a little stronger flavored than I liked, but maybe bc it wasn’t exclusively a bagel shop(?).
I am very happy that I found this place. They’ve only been open for close to 8 weeks.
The only problem I see is that It’s pretty small, for my big family, with just a few tables for two. I have every intention of going back to try some other ones…they have 19 different types you know. ☺ And whitefish, I was told the whitefish here is amazing. It’s on the list!

Bruce, the owner, is one of the nicest men I've ever met, not to mention an INCREDIBLE chef! I work at the Jet's next door and had the pleasure of getting to know him while they were working on opening. Gave him some pizza, and he never forgot me! He said he still owed me that sandwich and I got it today, and I have NEVER had a better breakfast bagel! Their coffee is awesome too, even got non-dairy almond milk creamer, these guys are the BEST!! I'm so excited and happy that they're flourishing, everyone here is fantastic and I LOVE them and Bruce and everyone here deserves the best!!

Best bagel spot in town! Everything bagel with egg was really good. Their veggie cream cheese is also really good. We love the atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. 10/10 would recommend.

We found this restaurant while dropping our pet off at a nearby animal hospital.

The workers were so nice as soon as we walked through the door. They did a great job at explaining their different menu items and helping us decide on our orders.

Their coffee system is diverse and easy to navigate: hot vs iced, roast of your choice, and a variety of flavors to add, as well as milk options. They also have lactose and sugar free options!

The facility has a great running theme and their decor is very DIY-cutesy, giving a homey/welcoming feel, but also a lively energetic feel, making it great for the morning target-audience. The facility is also very clean, which is always a must!

The biggest impact from today's visit was getting to meet one of the owners. She was helping out on the front-lines, running out orders and striking up conversation with her guests. It's always a breath of fresh air to see employers leading by example. It's also so very important to me that I can see upper management treating their employees with the kindness I saw her exhibit today.

The owner told us about how they built many of the structures within the restaurant, and also gave us history on some of the menu items - from family recipes to specialties. The owners have, very genuinely, put so much of themselves and their family into their business, which is nice to see in today's financial climate, where are options are becoming more limited to corporate chains.

Overall, I'm very content with our decision to try this restaurant. I recommend giving it a whirl! I will be back the next time i'm craving a gourmet bagel. I am excited to see this business continue to thrive.

Very impressed! Bagels are delicious and the service was quick and friendly. A gentleman who I believe to be an owner was there to greet us and open the door, which was a very nice touch. I’ll definitely return!

Growing up in the Northeast made me a bagel snob 😬. I have searched for great bagels for a while.

Finally, an authentic New York bagel place in East end Louisville! We got the a bagel with cream cheese, a sausage and egg bagel, a muffin, the potato pancakes and an iced coffee! Everything was delicious, large portions, I will definitely be back to try more flavors! The staff was super friendly and it was a lovely dine in experience. You need to try this place out!

Wicked cool NY bagel place. Bellmore Barry is awesome. Very friendly staff, and very yummy bagel sandwiches! Pictured is potato pancakes ( need to be thinner), and egg/cheese sandwiches. So good!!

-my blueberry lunch bagel concoction was really good! It’s a weird combo but for me the flavors work lol.

We saw a sign on the way to Dunkin, and my fiance was like look is that a new bagel place, reading the sign off the road. We are HUGE bagel lovers, especially fresh made, unique flavors and schmears, and great coffee is a PLUS. This place in our opinion had it all. The owner took time to talk to us and tell us about himself and how he came to Louisville from New York and how much he loves it here. We actually just moved back here from New York, and we never had soft bagels like the ones here. My fiance NEVER finishes his coffee, but he did this morning, leaving me shocked…(which by the way, the coffee beans here are bought from another local business here). We cannot wait for the Jalapeno Cheddar bagel drop! The schmears we tried are light and not heavy and flavorful! He also suggested we try the potato pancakes and made us a few to try out because we’ve never had them. Definitely recommend with sour cream! We were super pleased and can't wait to come back! Please try this place out!!

Best bagel place in town! Their bagel sandwiches are out of this world and don’t even get me started on the potato pancakes!! The owner is so friendly and even told us that the potato pancakes are a 150 year old family recipe. We’ve been there numerous times and it never disappoints! Their newest sandwich - The Steak-A-Fella - was absolutely amazing!

Really enjoyed the food and service. Next time I'll have to remember to take a picture of the food. I'll be coming back to try some more food. What I got for a first time visit was the breakfast bagel with onion bagel, pepper jack cheese, and pastrami. I also got the iced coffee which is great.

I get everything bagels whenever it's possible. These were the BEST everything bagels I've ever had. Giant bagel, plenty of flavor, soft on the inside.

First time trying Born2Bagel but it just easily became my weekly stop for bagels.

Love this new little bagel shop in Middletown. Small mom and pop owned. Great bagels and sandwiches. Super friendly and helpful staff.

We have been looking for years a high quality bagel shop and now we have found it. Bagels are soft and chewy. Sandwiches are stellar. Coffee rocks. Everything is handmade on site. Owners are so personable. We will be most definitely be back!
