Even on a weekday it’s busy here. Around 10 am there are no more empty seats. For twenty dollars you can have a very filling and tasty breakfast here. Traditional classic menu (omelet, bacon and pancakes with coffee). Helpful staff. Great retro atmosphere. I can't say anything negative, I was satisfied.

The server was soo nice. We loved her New York accent. She was sooo helpful . I had the Reuben bowl. The family loved the sticky pig. My brother had the chicken and waffles. My son had waffles and eggs. The grits were creamy. The coffees was so smooth and delicious it didn’t need sugar or cream,

THE WAFFLES!!! Like no other… the waffles are so light and fluffy I highly recommend, you will want another. Everything was delicious and fresh. Our waitress was super nice and informative given this was our first time here.

The food was great. The service was excellent. They were pretty packed when we got there and we got the last two seats at the bar. The server was still getting us drinks in a couple minutes. We got our orders in quick and sat back and watched a well oiled machine operate. We could see the kitchen staff hustling and churning out the food and all the servers helping each other. We got our food quickly. The portions were good and the food tasted great. Their homemade mole with cumin sour cream has a great flavor. They are fast and they are good.

Had a great breakfast here, really friendly service and great food. Was also pleased to see a great drink selection - espresso drinks, cold brew, and mimosas. We had the sticky chicken and southwestern omelette

Ok, I would have put more pictures of the food; however, my family swarmed all of the containers I neatly placed onto the table (to open and take pictures)... faster than a swarm of angry hornets. 😠
We're up from Charleston, SC so we had high expectations for breakfast and Thunderbird Cafe did not disappoint!!! The food was amazing! The staff are amazing (shout out to Kacey)!! Also, Nick helped carry our bags to the truck and we appreciated it!
I ordered quite a bit so we could have a family style selection (again- family attacked it).
We ordered omelets, Reubens Breakfast, Ranchero Bowl, Andre the Giant, Wild & Wicked, Pancake Taco (chocolate peppermint), Blueberry Cream Cheese French Toast, Chocolate Chip Pancakes, Cinnamon roll, Strawberry Cinnamon roll and Mini Peach Pie. All of it was fantastic!! If you're at Massanutten Resort- skip the resort breakfast and hit Thunderbird!!!

This place was awesome! Great food, a lot of menu options, great service, and an overall amazing value. I came with friends for brunch after a workout and yoga at nearby winery. I was VERY hungry lol. We ordered some items to share amongst the table as well as entrees. We started with the fried green tomatoes…10 out of 10. We shared the cinnamon French toast and all enjoyed it. I ordered the catfish, which was slamming. Very good seasoning and cooked perfectly. Everyone really enjoyed their food. The staff was awesome and the food was amazing. The cost was reasonable. I’d definitely recommend.

Very good food and friendly staff that were very accommodating willing to work with us with allergies! We will definitely stop here next time we are in town!

The restaurant was very busy, however they were still able to seat our party of four in a very timely manner. It’s a smaller restaurant but didn’t feel cramped. The waitress was extremely kind and helped with questions about the menu as it was our first time. We had French toast, waffle, Racheal’s special, and a personalized omelette and everything was phenomenal. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!!

You can't classify it as a hole in the wall. But you can definitely classify as a lump on a log. This place was great. The food was great. The service was great. So my partner and I we just went in there. Sat down food was delivered almost immediately. She has some kind of hot cakes. And sausage with grits. I had biscuits and gravy or the side of sausage in two eggs over easy. And we spent less than $30. Good quality for your money. This was recommended to me by the hostess. At the hotel somewhere where she goes to every day. She recommended this over the hotel food. And she works there! Can't ask for a better recommendation. Is it worth going back? Not too far out of town. Not too far away From the hotel.

Great local place! We went for breakfast on our way out of town after a week of vacation at the resort, and it was the perfect ending to a great visit. The food was incredible, the menu has great variety, and everyone was full and happy when we left. Keep up the good work! Our server was very friendly and accommodating to our large group with children, too, always a huge plus when eating out.

Good food and a friendly atmosphere. I ordered the garbage plate and was very pleased with my selection. The sausage gravy was nice and peppery. The eggs were actually over medium. The potatoes were delicious. My kids both enjoyed the blueberry pancakes and bacon. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone in the Harrisonburg and Massanutten area.

Update:
We came back the next day. The boys insisted on getting the pancakes again because they thought they were amazing.

I ordered the country fries steak and eggs. It did not disappoint.

Phenomenal - best roadside cafe EVER!!! Amazing food, huge portions, fair prices, friendly service. Literally the best place we ate on vacation. Middle of nowhere but make the drive, it is worth it - trust me. (Morgan was so friendly and helpful!)

This place was fantastic!!!!
Our kids ordered Andre the Giant and my husband and I ordered Bacon&egg/Sausage&egg + plain pancake.
Potatoes were really good. It wasn’t salty at all so it goes well with other salty and savory dishes
Eggs and bacons were fresh (some places’ bacons are smelly and dry) pancakes were really good too. Very soft.
Housemade biscuits were so fluffy inside and the sausage gravy was not salty (just right😉) and very delicious❤
The sausage patty is not frozen, or pre-cooked ones. It seemed like they make it here
It was a bit salty for us but it was good other than that.
Overall, I highly recommend this place!!!!!

Best breakfast place in the area. Everything was fresh and delicious. Every time we visited, there was a wait time to be seated, but worth the wait. Food was delicious.

We came for our first anniversary for breakfast. We were not disappointed!! Service was friendly and quick. Portion sizes are large so be prepared. Decently priced and we even took food (leftovers and takeout) home. We will absolutely be back as everything on the menu sounds good.

I got the hue is rancheros, add avacado was delish. My father got the Rueben bowl and that was also tasty. Bloody Mary a little spicey but good! Will deff return.

Came in for breakfast with my wife. Sat at the bar with Shelby and Amber. Excellent service and food. Shelby is a mixologist with the coffee and drinks. Amazing foam on the latte. Check this spot out!

Came to McGaheysville from New Jersey on a trip for the weekend and found this spot for breakfast. I would drive all the way back down for breakfast if I could. All the food was delicious, service was fast and the staff as kind as can be. Definitely a must try spot.

Wow. What a way to start our anniversary morning! I enjoyed every moment in this establishment.

The greeting, the patience , the hospitality and the delicious meal. Our Waitress Stephanie was awesome! We paid will our cell phone, that was cool too.

We had the Andre giant, wild wing waffles and a side of the cinnamon French toast. Omg!! Everything was perfect. If you’re staying in massanutten give them a try.
