Gilbert's on Main

When I travel I always seek out local places with wholesome food and good vibes - such at Gilbert’s on Main - highly recommend for breakfast / lunch and in between. What I loved: food was great, order and pay at the counter, free flow of self service coffee and water - nice and cozy local vibe. Walking distance from most downtown Bellevue hotel

This is a great place to stop for breakfast or brunch. They have great bagels but you can also get eggs, pancakes, French toast. Lots of tables to eat inside and a few outside as well. Cute little neighborhood as well to walk around after or before you eat. Free parking if you are lucky to find a spot. Large menu and books for kids to read while you wait for your food.

One of the first restaurants I’ve tried in Bellevue area and I’m impressed. The turkey sandwich was amazing I came back to try breakfast. The Nov deluxe definitely hit the spot. So the 3rd time I tried the Greek omelette and it’s the best omelette I’ve ever had, no joke. The side potatoes are amazing I didn’t even need a sauce. Cozy spot with some outdoor seating and quick service.

I had an omelet, potatoes, bagel and tea and the service was amazing. Everyone was super polite and helpful. Got me whatever I asked for and treated me with great respect. My food could have used some more salt however I like a lot of salt so that could just be me. Over all it was a wonderful little place.

I had the Rueben New York style (20oz of meat); it was amazing and huge! We also got the French onion soup, which was delicious (& went home in a box with us). My friend got the Florentine omelette, which was also quite delicious.

Came here with my mom awhile ago and then brought my boyfriend today… both experiences were great! Large portions, quick and attentive service, nice location and can take a walk around downtown park afterwards! The fruits that came with the Blood Orange Mimosa were sweet and a nice aesthetic touch =) Would recommend this place to those who would like to enjoy a relaxing brunch!

Hands down the BEST breakfast in Bellevue. We have frequented this place for 10 years and when we come back to visit we always start our mornings here. Everything about this place is what makes it so special.

Don't get a menu option per person. Best to share 2-3 food items for 4 people.
You order up front and go seat anywhere in or outside the restaurant.
Food wait time is average due to high customer traffic.
Finding tables is hard during the morning we first came for dine in. We tried take out on our 2nd visit and the food proportions were still good and everything was the same we ordered from dine in.
Pancakes are HUGE, size of plates, we saw a child only ate 1/3 of their pancakes and couldn't finish the rest.
Omelets were light and flavorful with toppings inside
French toast was soft and sweet and very generous. Everything is generous and worth the price

Although the normal serving sizes are huge, they offer small/micro portions of several dishes if you don't want to have leftovers. The oatmeal was "just like grandma's" with good accompaniments (brown sugar, walnuts, raisins, with milk on the side plus a small bowl of fruit). We also had a couple of bagel-based breakfast dishes and the brioche french toast (very good although not very eggy). Staff were friendly and helpful. Lastly, the fairly early opening time of 7am was great.

Had the best New York style deli Reuben I have ever had, and I'm a hard critic of the sandwich. The sandwich was STACKED and came with delicious sides. So many other delicious looking menu items, will have to go back and try them all!

This is a fantastic breakfast/lunch place! I love the vibe and mimosas! ❤. I went with my mom and had such a great time here.

FIVE STAR MEAL! Great service. Nice little spot. It was so nice to go here my first time. My boyfriend brought me he’s been a few times & always tells me about this place. Today we came for a late breakfast/lunch. The lady took my order everything was smooth next time I’ll try there bagels. We asked for extra jelly they got it really quick! Clean tables. People leaving & they clean the tables quickly. It’s nice to eat outside weather was nice. Best mimosas but the blueberry pancakes we had & supreme omelet was to die for! The potatoes are bomb! Thank you for your friendly service. 5 star. Hard workers.

We were driving around downtown Bellevue to find breakfast and wanted to try something we haven’t tried before. Walked by couple cafes on Main Street then we saw Gilbert’s on Main with lots of people inside eating. So we went in and gave it a try. Wow their pancakes are huge!!! And omelette too. Food tasted good. My friend and I shared both dishes and we still managed to pack 1/2 home. I saw almost everyone near us ordered the micro one egg omelette that comes with a bagel. If you are not sharing food that micro breakfast is good size! My mocha was pretty and came with an umbrella ;)

Only been here once and it was a home run! Great food with a lot of options and friendly staff. I really like that you order and pay first so you don't need to wait around for the bill. Great option for outdoor seating but the tables outside can fill up fast so best to get there early if possible.

Lovely place, somewhat pricy, but if you share their huge meal portions - price wouldn't become an issue. Fresh delicious ingredients. Tulips on outside tables.

I'd suggest business owner to install bell at the register, or ask personnel to be a little more responsive. Couple times in an empty restaurant I have had to wait for a while before someone pays attention to my presence.

Big dishes (easy to split!), friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Lots of seating available inside and out.

Soooo yummy! Melt in your mouth port wine roast beef. French onion soup! Salami and egg scramble... Yum! The garlic bagel was the best bagel I *ever* ate. Great & fun ambiance. Cute sidewalk seating. Best of all dog friendly!

Gilbert's has been a mainstay of downtown Bellevue for years and years--because it makes amazing food. Recently met an out-of-town coworker here and of course I had the hot pastrami (comes with the right kind of pickle, and potato salad), which was just delicious. My coworker had never had a Reuben! So we corrected that issue, with Gilbert's excellent example, sitting at a table on the sidewalk; very nice.
This place is a classic for a reason--because it consistently produces top-quality food in an unpretentious environment. It's basically the perfect lunch spot.
P.S. the matzo ball soup is also tremendous

I tried Greek omelette and blueberry pancake. Portions were so big and taste was delicious. Also Mr. Steve who was the owner of the place was so kind and take care of the customer happiness.

Got the blueberry walnut pancakes, friend got the omelette, portion sizes were really big and the food was good, a bit hard to find seats, but we got lucky and only had to wait a few minutes
