Kirby is an action-platformer video game series developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo. The series centers around the adventures of a young, pink alien hero named Kirby as he fights to save his home on the distant Planet Popstar from a variety of threats. The majority of the games in the series are side-scrolling platformers with puzzle solving and beat 'em up elements. Kirby has the ability to inhale enemies and objects into his mouth, spitting them out as a projectile or eating them. If he eats certain things he can gain the powers or properties of that object manifesting as a new weapon or power-up called a Copy Ability. The series is intended to be easy to pick up and play even for people unfamiliar with action games, while at the same time offering additional challenge and depth for more experienced players to come back to.

I love kirby's. New price is ridiculous, but older units are great and repairable. There's really no vacuum like it...

Some of Kriby's sales associates just intruded my home and refused to leave for over 2 hours. After guilting us about wasting their time by giving us a demonstration, they finally left. A couple of things the company should take notice of here ::
1. It is 2012, and you can now market your product online and in retail stores.
2. If you're going to go door to door (which is probably the only way you can guilt someone into a $4,000 vacuum), equip your salesmen/saleswomen with some integrity in their sales tactics. Don't come over on a Saturday afternoon and take up 2 hours of my time. If you see no interest in a potential customer after 10 minutes, it's unlikely that you will ultimately make the sale.

I wasn't sure exactly where to leave this, the two guys who I had to deal with were from somewhere in Oregon (I live in Colorado), but I think leaving it at the company headquarters is appropriate since my complaints likely have to do with the entire company.

I opened my door on Saturday to find two young men standing there smiling at me. They handed me a small brochure that said something like "Get the carpet in one room in your house cleaned for free! No obligation!" I was holding my dog, and one of the men made a joke about that it "works on dogs as well." I chuckled, though looking back I now see that that joke was merely to begin buttering me up for what was to come later. They then explained that they were providing free demonstrations of their service, with the goal that I would recommend it to family, friends, neighbors, etc. They stated plain and simply that there was "no need to open my wallet, it's free."

They mentioned they were with Kirby, which was still no big deal to me because I still believed that they were going to do what they told me. They came into my house and begin unpacking the vacuum which had lots and lots of pieces to it. "Uh oh," I thought. "This isn't going to be that quick, is it?" One guy then pulls out a binder and begins going into every function of the Kirby as the minutes and hours tick by, while I'm sitting on my couch thinking "How did I get here? I didn't agree to this." He eventually makes a sales pitch to me about three different pricing options, and I say "I'm not interested." He then says "I completely understand," which I'm sure is a phrase they are taught to use when they're being trained, because it puts you at ease that they are going to stop trying to sell it to you. It’s a bald-faced lie and a manipulative tactic, though. The other one they used a lot was "no big deal." Beware if you hear those phrases.

They also use manipulative questions to try to get you to buy it. They get their boss on the line on hold and ask you which pricing option works best for you. That question is set up to try to commit you to buying because it's not a yes/no question and I'd imagine having their boss on the phone on hold is a manipulative tactic to try to make you feel pressured. They did this about four times with new offers. All of this after earlier they had said "don't open your wallet," yet they were preying on my wallet like vultures on carrion.

They were in my house about 3 1/2 hours until almost 11:00 at night. It's insulting for someone to have such complete disregard for your time. That is a lot of time to take out of someone's day and weekend, and a decent human being is going to let you know up front that they're going to take that much time. I would've declined if I knew it would take that long. It's also insulting how much they lied to me. Their narrative changes completely the moment they step in the door. And so I ask you, Kirby, "Why would I want to buy your product when you blatantly disregarded my time and lied through your teeth?" I do not buy from liars, it doesn't matter what you're selling. If you don't have integrity to be honest and respectful of my time, get lost. Thanks Kirby, I am now just a little more pessimistic about humankind. I know that if someone seemingly nice is at my door, it's probably all a ploy and I need to turn my back and run. I also can't trust anything anyone says at the door, and under no circumstances will I ever let anyone in my house again who I have not sought out myself. You've made me consider getting a "no solicitors" sign.

So guess what, Kirby? You definitely accomplished what you set out to do. I WILL tell my family and friends about you. I'll tell them about the hellish experience I went through and how you lied to me and how they should never buy your vacuum. I had no opinion on your company when I woke up Saturday morning, but now I know I will never buy your product. I would rather be castrated with a butter knife.

So long story short, distrust everyone at your doorstep, because god forbid they're a Kirby salesman.
