We absolutely loved photographing Mimi & Ryan’s wedding at Whalehead Club! The staff on site are super friendly and accommodating and this location is truly incredible! We lucked out with the most perfect sunset which led into a truly gorgeous evening under the tent. We can’t wait to photograph here again!!

Beautiful park with wonderful sunsets.

Plenty of places to walk around and explore. Great for photos. Lighthouse is within walking distance.

I have been coming here for years and never took the opportunity to explore this area. Well worth a visit.

Lots of birds in area. Even saw a bald eagle.

Loved the history here. Beautifully well taken care of and being updated even more. Plenty to see in this park.

We come here every year to see the sunset, I’ve never been inside when this is open, but it is in a well-kept, park, scenic, picturesque, park. definitely come for the sunset

We went over for the evening tour and it was a great evening. Weather was great and the tour was exceptional. The history of the property and owner was very interesting. We have talked with friends who have not done the tour yet so we will be going again next year. My wife had the privilege of going in the building years ago before any remodeling! She described the condition of the piano at that time and was pleasantly surprised to see the quality of restoration. It was very informative evening. Looking forward to next year's tour.

In May of 2023, my family and I vacationed in Kitty Hawk and had Whalehead Club on our agenda for the week. When we arrived there we fell in love with the place and ended up spending the entire day in the park.

A house tour, a museum tour, walking the beautiful grounds and crabbing the inland harbor were enough to whisk away an entire day and still leaving other attractions unattended.

While back in the area on a business trip in October I used a free day to go back to Whalehead Club for a second look. I can’t get enough of this place.

Whalehead Club deserves a place on your vacation agenda. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

Great place to stop if you are in the corolla area. It is kid friendly, the lighthouse is neat, and the boat ramp there is ideal for kayaks, jet skis, or small boats with a shallow draft. The surrounding waters can be pretty shallow so be careful in motorized boats.

Staff is incredibly helpful! Beautiful home and definitely worth the tour. Amazing architecture that you can't find anywhere else in the US. The only down side was that I really wanted to take photos! :) But it's been restored beautifully and is obviously loved and cared for by a great staff. Beautiful, calm and interesting. I wouldn't recommend for young children.

We just visited the property did not go into the building. The building has an amazing history that you can read about one of the plaques outside.

This is a great area to view the bay, and watch the sunset. Easy to get into and the parking was free.

A beautiful and interesting place. A huge home built by a very rich family when the area was barely developed. Take the house tour it is worth the small charge. Visit the 1800s church and see the lighthouse and grounds.

Great park with boardwalk and soundfront areas to explore. Historical footbridge over the water leading to the boathouse is very picturesque. Ample parking. The maritime museum adjacent to it has the nicest public restrooms I have ever seen. Great area to go birding.

Such a neat place. You are also right next to the Lighthouse so you can knock two sights out with one trip. Did not do the tour but I had a blast wandering around the grounds and reading the signage.

This beautiful piece of American History hearkened back to Newport, Rhode Island and all that went with it. The house was beautifully appointed. The docents were well versed in all the history. This was well worth the trip and the modest price of admission. No photos are permitted inside. But the decor! Oh my goodness, decadent and unique.

Took the self guided tour after year's of visits to Corolla and it was well worth the time. Learned so much about the original builders & occupants and their lifestyles, as well as the people who visited. The tour was well laid out. We had the greatest access to the house I've ever had on a house tour, getting to view three floors, including the owners personal areas, the servants areas, kitchen and the basement which contained a museum of period items. There are well informed guides that are close by to answer any questions you may have.

Excellent tour! The renovation of the Whalehead Club was very thorough and detailed. Every room had beautiful furnishings and artifacts in them. There is no tour guide but an audio each room provides the explanation. Allow 45 minutes to an hour. No photographs allowed.

Beautiful site, gorgeous view, and wonderfully maintained building. Staff is highly knowledgeable and are great story tellers. We took the ghost tour, but wish we'd had time to go back during the day to tour the house properly. So glad to know this place is protected.

We did not tour the inside, but the area is beautiful. There is a number of informational plaques scattered around the property with great info. There is a boardwalk and a number of picnic spots, plus you can crab in the sound

Wonderful place to visit, the architecture is beautiful. One of Corolla's best places to visit it is surrounded by a lovely park and in walking distance from the light house. The nature museum and other points of interest surround the landmark.
