Maltby Cafe

35 years in the making, the Maltby Cafe and their generous proportions have been delighting diners for breakfast and lunch everyday. Everyone from the guy greeting us at the front dias, to the servers, and roving folks replenishing coffee and water were very friendly and helpful. The line out the door on Sunday morning is a testament to the interest from new and returning diners alike. Well worth the drive!

Oh my God this place is SO EFFING GOOD.
I wish I could give more stars. My husband has been trying to get me to come here for a while and I’m mad I waited so long haha.

I got the country bennies and I probably won’t get them anywhere else except for here now because they won’t compare. The breakfast potatoes were perfection.

We will be coming back with my mother-in-law next weekend. Also great for kids!!

The food portions are huge, and the cinnamon rolls is literally like a small cake.

Great local breakfast spot for friends and family. The cinnamon rolls and biscuits are made there and they are delicious. The scrambles and omelettes are also great! There is usually a wait, but it's well worth it. Great spot!

Another hidden gem!
Breakfast was perfect. We had country fried steak, Swedish pancakes & biscuits & gravy. We did bring home famous cinnamon roll for breakfast the next day 1 was enough for 4 of us.
The only downside is that there is limited seating, and the place fills up quickly! When it's full the tables are a little close together so there is a little navigation required.
All in all, I would go here again. There are several dishes that were served around us I would definitely try... Swedish pancakes with fruit & the eggs Benedict looked like a magazine photograph.

First time ever coming here. The place was packed, but we still got a table in a reasonable amount of time. I had the maltby swedish pancakes with strawberries and he had the mederteranian scramble. Our food was sooo good. Our server Katie was so sweet. Always had a smile and a positive attitude. You could tell she liked working there. Even though this places is just over an hour from our house, we will still be back again.

What a great place for a meal. Maltby Cafe has been hear for decades. Located in Maltby, oddly enough, directly under the Maltby gym circa 1937. This place offers one of the best food to value ratios around. Example, I ordered a cinnamon roll and it literally covers the plate. Great food at a good price. If you go be ready to wait on the weekends. It gets busy but worth every minute of the wait. Off highway 522 to Monroe. Just go.

Incredible historic cafe!! The cafe is located under the school house gymnasium, so you can’t actually see it. There is a bit of a wait due to its mass popularity in town. If you can take the time, you’re for a great treat. BACON WAS AMAZING. Can’t wait to go back!!

We have been here so many times and always have a pleasant experience. Weekends do have a long wait but if you go around 11.30-12 you might get table quickly.
Love their omelets(California and Zorba are my favorites) and Benedict’s are great as well.
Best of it are the fruit filled pancakes.
The ambience has a good roadhouse vibe and staff is very friendly.
Parking has generally been easy to get

The service was excellent. I went expecting a long wait and was seated immediately! That was at 9:00 a.m. on a Sunday. By 11:00 a.m. everything was full and there were people waiting. My server. Let me know that it was unusual for me to be seated so quickly. I had the chicken fried steak and my companion had the country eggs Benedict. She is a chef, she thought that her eggs Benedict was wonderful. My chicken fried steak was not what I expected, it was an actual steak. The gravy was not sausage gravy, it was more of a bacon style gravy. If those are flavors that you really enjoy, there was more than enough on the plate to fill up! The bloody Mary was spicy and delicious in my opinion. Worth every penny. Again, I cannot over state how friendly the staff was. Our server was excellent. I offered him a job!

Stopped by for a cinnamon roll after a 5 mile hike at the Paradise Lake Conservation area.

It’s quite large. Lots of sugar. Yum. Dry until warming it in the microwave.
Worth the $11.80.

Absolutely delicious! My husband and I couldn’t decide what to get, there were hundreds of options for breakfast and lunch! I ended up getting their fruit filled Maltby pancakes and I have zero regrets! The service was wonderful and the building was clean, organized and comfortable.

Excellent food and service! Usually a bit of a wait, but they seem to do an efficient job getting people seated pretty quickly.
Great scrambles, bread, pancakes. And huge Cinnamon rolls and cookies to go!
In the late spring and summer, be sure to walk their beautiful grounds.

The check has a tipping suggestion starting at 22% and increases. Thought that was a bit much.

Split the cinnamon roll! It's massive. We love this place for a family breakfast. They keep the coffee coming which is awesome!

Took family visiting me here for lunch, about 1pm on a Sunday. By then, even though it was a busy weekend day, we got seated in about 5 minutes! Everyone loved it. The giant cinnamon roll was certainly big enough even for the six of us, the chicken fried steak was extra flavorful, the biscuits just the right amount of buttery! Great place to have taken everyone for a local treat.

Second time here and just as amazing as the first. This time we came mid morning about 10am on a Thursday and it wasn’t busy. We were seated promptly, hostess was pleasant and a short wait for our waitress. Pancakes had a good flavor as did the sausage. Scrambled eggs were just that. The side of breakfast potatoes extra crispy were exceptional. Not hash browns but a yummy potato hash I guess you could call it. This is a hidden gem that is under ground that everyone should find and try at least once. They serve breakfast and lunch but no dinner.

Great Breakfast, large portions and wonderful staff. During the pandemic this location almost closed, Due to community love and support it is here today to keep on giving to the Maltby and greater Seattle community

Great breakfast place if you want some nice Ambiance and great home style cooking. They have a massive and very good cinnamon roll. Make sure you have a friend to eat it with you otherwise you'll have to take it home. Everything is good here. What's fun is you can make any omelette into a breakfast burrito. They have good Bloody Marys as well.

Loved it! The Montana Potatoes Breakfast was cooked to perfection and delicious. The wait staff is top-notch, professional and friendly. I highly recommend the Maltby Cafe.
