2023-12-21: This is a very nice visitor center with a bunch of nice, informative displays. They even have a small movie theater that plays a 13 minute video about Paynes Prairie. There are restrooms here, and a couple of monoculars set up on tripods overlooking Paynes Prairie. There was a volunteer outside cleaning the sidewalks who was very pleasant to talk to and showed me an Osprey nest in a tree that not noticeable through the thick vegetation. The gentleman working behind the register at the visitor center was also very pleasant and informative.

Nice visitor center near the observation tower with informative displays and interactive exhibits about the landscape, wildlife, plants and cultural history of the prairie. The volunteer at the desk was friendly and answered our questions.

We always stop at the Prairie when we are in Gainesville. New exhibits are going in at the visitor center, and the entire park is quite peaceful.
