Great REI! So many friendly workers asked if I needed help. Little do they know that I’m the browsing king. Eventually I caved and asked for assistance for an upcoming road trip and the staff member was incredibly helpful.

I've decided to update my previously bad rating/ review to a 5 star rating.

I had decided not to shop at REI anymore after a previously bad experience there, but after being sold on an REI brand product online I decided to venture back into the store just this one time.

I was pleased to work with 3 different employees who were all happy to jump in and help me find what I was looking for. In addition to this they seemed to have experience using some of the products I was asking about and in outdoor adventures in general. I'm happy I gave them a second chance and will likely find myself back shopping at REI again.

I enjoy shopping at REI. If timed right, you can get some good deals on great products.

I normally don’t need staff help but they are always friendly based on my experience. I recently had a very positive interaction with Brooke from REI. She was friendly, helpful, and enjoyable to talk to about gear. She’s the kind of associate that I enjoy interacting with. REI needs to keep hiring more people like her.

The return policy at REI is so good! You can return things within the year if you are not satisfied no questions asked! Well, they do ask some questions, like why you didn't like it, but that's it! Great location with great staff!

Workers are generally knowledgeable (the lady who was in the navy knows her stuff). The pricing is really expensive, but the nice thing is you can find good quality stuff and you can find what you want. Plus you have a great return policy. 6 months for anyone, a year if you’re a member (one time fee of $30 to become a member). They don’t ask lots of questions when you return things so returning is fairly easy.

Their sales are usually decent so I’d recommend waiting for their Christmas sale or anniversary sale that’s in the spring. Sometimes their gear has defects (it’s usually really good) but their good return policy makes up for it.

I’m still giving them a 5/5, because I think that if you put price aside they live up to expectations .

Couldn’t rave enough about this location! Jeanette was EXTREMELY helpful in helping my husband in deciding which Garmin Watch to buy. She spent 30 minutes on the phone answering any questions he had and gave SO much helpful information about the product. 10/10 customer service, she’s awesome!

Dude at the bike shop spent a lot of time examining my tire setup and educating me about tubeless tires (that mine weren’t tubeless ready). It would have been easier to just take my tires and call me later informing me it couldn’t be done. The way I see it, this super nice dude saved me a trip. I will be back when I need bike services for sure.

The best REI store I’ve ever been. Thanks to Marisa!! Best customer service I’ve ever experienced. She literally spent 2 hours to help us find our best shoes. Thank you Marisa you are the best!!

Brought some skis in for a wax. Enjoyed a conversation with Dave as he worked on my skis, and I appreciated his stories and expertise.

I had great experience on Sat 3/25. An employee, I think is name is Chip? Helped me so much finding a backpack. I’ve never found a pack that fit so well, and I’m so grateful that even though the store was busy he took the time to help me out. Best customer service I’ve ever had at an REI!

This place rocks! I’d recommend becoming a member as soon as possible if you like this stuff! - you won’t regret it!

I do miss the classic garage sales, but they now have a section for garage sale items where you can still find great deals!!

I’ve also purchased a Mountain bike from here and have used there bike service often with nothing but great experiences - minus almost one, but full-redemption!

You want high quality gear you can rely on, get over here!

I was so impressed with Dave and Grant at the shop tuning two bikes of ours. They took the time to show me what needs to happen. At one point we uncovered a problem with a shock but with patience Dave was able to find a way around it and stretch the bike. The tunes are amazing and will be bringing my bikes here for now on. Thank you.

An employee here named Sky was THE best! Super knowledgeable, patient, and friendly!

I had to return some shoes I bought and the return process was easy and the staff were nice.

The Sandy REI location hires the best employees. Denise helped me pick out trail running shoes today and I was blow away with her level of knowledge across brands. Another plus is that they're dog friendly (not all locations in UT are).

Great location, employees are helpful and friendly. I had to exchange a product and they only had the replacement online, so they shipped it to my house with no hassle. Great products as usual. They WILL try and get you to join their $30 membership, and they push hard for it, so just be prepared for that.

Went in knowing exactly what I was looking for. Employees could tell, and left me alone, which was uber appreciated.

Apparently some people need to learn how to ask for help in the reviews, since the moment I did, they were on top of it and straight to the point.

Carol helped me at check out, and she was great to chat with and helped me get good deals for the future. Their selection on GU gels here aren't as good as the other locations in the valley, but with the membership free shipping I can snag any flavor I want cheaper than ordering straight from GU labs anway.

Just had a great experience with Leslie in the shoe section. Was trying to find a pair of trail runners (which are apparently a hot item) and after helping 3 other customers immediately before me, she didn’t rush me or try to make a sale I didn’t want and researched the shoes that I wanted and wrote everything down so I could order online via REI. I was so impressed by her patience and kindness after what seemed like a hell of an evening. Awesome customer service!

Grant and Wylie in the repair shop were SO helpful, friendly, patient, and knowledgeable in fixing my bike! REI really stands behind their products and makes sure you have all the care, info, and tuning you need to go get out there! I also always get the best local recs when I come in!
