I love this store, the staff and owners. I have been shopping here for over 20 years and have never had an issue with a return or exchange. The clothing and accessory selection is to die for and the shopping experience is amazing. I am a huge fan and highly recommend!

This is a beautifully curated store with a warm and welcoming staff. Sarah approached us with her lovely smile and asked us if we needed help. She pointed me right to the sales rack first, which I appreciated. She also was helpful when I sought her guidance, but also gave me space to try on each piece and ponder them on my own! If you appreciate stylish and well made clothing, go visit them. I live in Bend, but will definitely be back for future clothing purchases.

I just live in Washington so it’s not like it had far to travel but wow, my order was sent so quickly and arrived in two days! Very impressed with the speed and packaging of my pants. Will definitely be back again—THANK YOU!

Mercantile is THE premium women's contemporary clothing store in Portland. The clothing is fabulous and the service exemplary. I can't imagine shopping anywhere else. LOVE.

Went there with my wife and the service was above and beyond. We will definitely be back to buy more the next time we're in town.

I used to shop here a bit and I worked with a very cute girl named Jessica but I guess she isn’t there anymore because the only people who have helped me recently are very passive aggressive and it’s not as fun. Probably won’t be back.

I took myself out for my 30th birthday, and had a lovely day around downtown Portland. One of my main goals, was to find a dress for dinner that night. I went to many stores - but unfortunately the ones I wanted to purchase from were closed on Tuesdays. No biggie, still checked anthropology, Nordstrom, etc. Then I came upon this store. When I entered, I was not even greeted, which made me feel very uncomfortable, since I had to ring a doorbell to be let in. I looked around and waited for someone to say anything to me, but no one did. Even though i saw many sales people helping other customers and some just standing around.
I asked the salesperson if they had a dress that was displayed on the wall in my size. Her response: “oh, maybe but it’s” then proceeds to show me the tag. Uh, okay? If you knew anything about contemporary fashion, you would know I was wearing a $600 Selkie dress in your store, but I digress. I say that I’d like to try it on if they do have my size, she grabs it and puts it in the dressing room, then I grab another dress and proceed to try them on.

One of the dresses fits perfectly, and is exactly what I was looking for. Very elegant and perfect for where we were going for dinner. However, because of the way I was treated, I ended up not purchasing this dress.

I hope you enjoy clutching your pearls from your bar bearing windows, because people my age are going to financially and physically outlive your current clientele, if you weren’t already aware of that.

I purchased an item from eBay from this company. When I placed the hooks in alcohol and then removed them, the paint literally came off the earrings and onto my fingers! This is what Beth had to say via eBay. "It is indeed unfortunate that you did that. There is no such warning much like you would not put a warning on them not to place in any other chemical. While we understand that this may cause us to lose you as a customer, we are unable to replace them for you. It is fairly common knowledge that you should never place any painted earrings in any chemical, regardless if you have done so before, without knowing the outcome." BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
