Penzeys Spices

I'm about an hour from this place and don't make it out often but it's always such a lovely experience when I do. The staff is always welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. Plus they slip you some freebies on the way out the door which is always nice. Clever, too, as I've given them to friends and created new Penzey's lovers.

I enjoyed shopping at Penzeys Spices while I was on vacation in Washington DC. And I’m looking forward to trying the Indian version of red pepper flakes. And if you want to add more flavors to the menu of spices, it should be a blend of garlic, jalapeño and black pepper. And another idea for a new flavor would be Parmesan Jalapeño Seasoning. And I hope they establish a Penzeys spice shop in Northwest Arkansas.

I usually buy Penzeys by mail - but if you have the chance to stop by in person, you can take a whiff of any blends unfamiliar to you and decide. The folks working there are all quite nice and very helpful.

These spices are a little more costly than average, but they are absolutely 100% worth it. Their spices are above and beyond quality. I highly recommend the taco seasoning and the Vietnamese cinnamon. Unbelievable. Once you try their spices, you will never go back. Guaranteed.

The service here is always amazing and you can find all sorts of hard to find spices that are a much better quality than the grocery stores. Most importantly the prices are comparable to the grocery stores.

Had such a great experience here! They have any spice or herb you could possibly need. Everything is organized so well and the ambiance is amazing. Their spices are sooo fresh and aromatic. Not only that, the staff are extremely kind, welcoming and helpful. I love the kid's section where they can draw/play while you shop! We'll be coming back often as we love to cook at home.

We love penzey's. We go a few times a year to stock up on high fat cocoa and spices. spices are fresh and tasty, and the store smells amazing. Coloring area for kids. Sign up for coupons, I almost always get a few free products to try. Highly recommend!

This store has a great selection of fantastic herbs and spices with friendly staff that are always willing to help. You'd think that a specialty store would be more expensive than a regular grocery store but that's not the case. The spices here are MUCH better quality and typically cost the same or less than grocery stores. You'll love all the great smells when you walk in the door.

Really fun! Their blends are clever and seem nicely constructed. Plus, when we went, they had a promotion and we wound up getting a free minced garlic and two free pie spices. Definitely worth stopping in.

Friendly & helpful staff, clean & uncluttered store design, sample jars are available for you to catch a whiff of how each spice, herb, or blend smells. Great quality, too. It's my favorite spice company.

Love, love, love this store in particular and Penzy's spices in general, especially their Vietnamese cinnamon. It's wonderful in my morning coffee. But...I hate curbside pickup! It's so limiting in being adventurous in trying new things, like the salt free spice blends. The worst part is that I have a generous gift certificate to spend! Please open the store, abiding by Covid-19 CDC guidelines.

One of my favorite stores in Rockville. Infinite choices. Friendly environment. Fun to shop. If it wasn't for Penzeys I'd never dare to buy something unfamiliar. Here you can come and smell each and every spice before you buy it. It is life enhancing experience!
As an uneducated cook, I have experimented with lots of new aromas and flavors. Within a few adventurous years I made couple of mistakes, but eventually selected my top 20+ favorite spices and can't live without them. Thank you for being awesome Penzeys!

Penzey’s has just about every spice you could possibly want. The customer service is also good. My first visit I just showed up, not knowing I needed to order ahead and that delivery and curbside were the only options due to COVID. They were willing to accommodate me, and the spices I wanted were quickly brought out. The second time I placed my curbside order online ahead of time, but I didn’t read the confirmation email. I should have waiting for a call, which could take 24 hours or longer, but just drove there. Once again, they quickly and patiently took care of me. I will definitely purchase from Penzey’s again.
