Manna Japanese Comfort Food

I’ve been having a hard time finding a good sushi place in Salem and this one was so good! Reasonable prices everything tasted so fresh. My only complaint was the size of the pieces were quite large and it was hard to eat it in one bite.

Manna Japanese Comfort Food is the definition of a hidden gem. It has easily become my favorite Japanese restaurant in Salem. The food is high quality, the portions are large and the prices are great. I typically get the sushi burrito, but lately we have been trying new things. The poke bowls are delicious but the sushi burrito is still my fav. The owners are very nice people and the service is always great. Highly recommend!!

Cute place that exceeded my expectations. Loved the atmosphere in here, the place was busy on a Friday night but still held a cozy feeling. The service was very accommodating, great hospitality and the food was simply amazing, biggest sushi rolls I've ever encountered without sacrificing any quality or flavor.

Food was SO good. I was a little nervous since the menu wasn’t too big and sushi places can really be a hit or miss, but this place was just SO tasty. Wish I had run into it sooner on my stay in Salem would have gone a couple of times. I think the owners were the ones who attended but regardless they were really kind. I felt that the portions were generous and in accordance with
their pricing.

Best Cali roll in town. They have amazing food, decent prices for sushi in the area, more variety than other places, and super friendly staff. Hard to ask for anything more. My only gripes are the small size of the location (it is still quite nice) and it's somewhat difficult to find the menu online (Google Maps seems the best). I highly recommend checking it out if you love sushi or wanna try some other Japanese food you can't find in Salem.

This was a great stop for lunch as we passed through Salem. The food was great and if you order ahead you won't have to wait, however, we did not but the wait wasn't bad as we got there right before the lunch rush. They give you the option to have your sushi sliced or wrapped in a sushi burrito which I thought was a great idea. The miso has a great flavor. I ordered the Teri-Don and it was fantastic. There was plenty of seating and it was very clean.

I'm not someone who writes reviews often unless I feel very compelled to. I've heard of Manna for awhile now by word of mouth and decided today I'd stop in and check it out and I'd like to share my experience. I'd like to start off by saying if I could give them 6 stars I would.
From the moment you walk in you're greeted with a warm and friendly welcome, followed with helpful guidance through their menu. I'd like to add I've lived in Salem my whole life and more recently I've noticed customer service is unfortunately not prominent in most restaurants these days. At Manna I was met with kindness and respect which I can really appreciate. This was followed up by being checked up on and asking if we needed anything throughout our meal. I didn't just feel like another person, I genuinely felt like my business meant something and that I was important. The owners are very kind people and really care for the experience you're having with them. The service here is beyond 5 stars.
Atmosphere is also 5 stars. I felt very cozy more like I was being invited to have dinner in someone's home. Something I found very endearing was the plaques on the wall talking about both the owners lives and success. Having insight to their lives really makes the experience so much more meaningful.
Lastly, the food! Absolutely delicious! One of my favorite meals is Rice with Curry and Chicken Katsu. This meal without a doubt was 1. The best Tonkatsu I've had anywhere and 2.This may seem weird to most but the rice was cooked perfectly with some of the best Japanese Curry I've ever had. From presentation to flavor, absolutely deserves 6 stars.
If you've been thinking about coming here please do. I recommend this to anyone with a love for Japanese food. I will be returning!

Cheap price with very good service. Servers are friendly and good quality of food. The dine in space is not really big and they don't have lots of people in the kitchen. It's better to call before you come here.

BEST sushi/poke bowls around period! The wife and I love trying sushi in various towns and out of them all Manna is the best, the one we go back to! We visited weekly, until we moved, and now we make it a mandatory stop when we drive 2.5 hours to visit. The food is amazing, what's better is the family running it! The have their heart and soul in the business, and their children are part of it too. Now that's a place I love supporting.... Go now and try them!

This place has replaced Momiji for me! I don’t care if they are small- they care about family and quality. I want them to have our money. Their food is incredibly tasty and original and my family will support them!

This place’s value and friendliness can’t be beat! They make good authentic food that reminded us of expensive Japanese restaurants we’ve been to in various cities we have lived in. The cardboard serving boxes are unusual but understandable since their roots started out as as a food truck. The dude who gave one star yesterday needs to re-evaluate his life, since he only seems to be a complain reviewer. None of his complaints are true my wife said the miso soup was wonderful and refreshing. They give you massive quantities for $11. Clean, fresh, nicely decorated, family friendly, sit down place.

Wonderfully delicious, a great place to grab a very tasty meal. The owners are very professional and fun. I have not had a meal that I haven’t enjoyed !!

So good!! Really cute decor and lovely staff! We ordered spam musubi and the veggie caterpillar (pictured). Very yummy! We got full and were sad we couldn't finish all our food!

This is such a cute small restaurant I would've never found had my special human not mention it. I don't frequent Salem at all and I never knew there could be such a great place in Salem. I always considered a lonely city with nothing going for them, but I was wrong; starting with this place. The restaurant looks like it's ran by a small family and there were only a few workers there that I noticed. Very friendly staff and extremely kind to all the guests around us.

Ordered some traditional Takoyaki, which was as yummy as expected. Main course were Seared Talapia, Chicken Katsu with some California rolls. The meal looks small, but it was much bigger and filling than expected. My Talapia dish was SO delicious... I would come back to order this anytime.

The food here is absolutely delicious. Everything I tried here are good. The portion is big with good quality and great price. I wouldn’t mind to go there every week if I live nearby.

I absolutely love this place. I usually don’t write reviews but for this place I will write the best review EVER!! They're so incredibly nice and always allow me to substitute or take things off! Their food is amazing I love the curry they had and spam musubi!! My girlfriend and I feel appreciated whenever we go. I hope they get more business from others. They seem very gay friendly, which is so amazing!! Anyways, we love them and will always support them :))))

Gf bragged hard about this place, and it was legit. Food was a thing of art. The chef was a champion. The server was a master of her craft and read the vibe and delivered so. Will be using the punch card they gave in the future.

This place is so delicious definitely recommend the ocean burrito, and the Mojito lemonade, chicken karahi. Pretty much anything on the menu🥰.
My husband says that if they make a chicken karahi into a burrito. It be fire🤤🤤🤤 🥰💓
