Columbus Martial Arts Academy

My kids have been training here since 2012. I tried other schools and found that The Columbus Martial Arts Academy had the best instruction under Coach Sami. He is a great friend who gives all of his students more than their money's worth with the best rates around. Great team! Feels like family.

I joined up with the gym close to a year ago not having any martial arts background before. The very first day I came and watched I felt at home. The coaches to everyone training made me feel immediately welcomed and willing to help not only myself grow but other people around grow ! Not just in a martial art aspect but as people. 10/10 would recommend this gym to anyone looking to pick up a martial art and be around genuine people !

We have been coming here a little over a year now, my daughter loves the place. Coach Sami and Coach Ryan are great with the kids, it keeps us coming back every week. The entire staff here is very helpful and create a great atmosphere for everyone.

CMAA is home, this is by far the best martial arts school I’ve ever had the pleasure of being a student. Every class is engaging the coaches all legit care about the students. I’ve dealt with injuries to my ankles for years prior to starting classes and day one coach Steve worked around them. It is a great environment that promotes the art in martial arts. Coach Sami is a real master of his craft extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend this class to anyone of any age or physical condition . You will be pushed to be your best self .

This is a wonderful place ! My kids and I have been coming here for almost 5 years now, it is a great family environment. All of the instructors are very kind and informative. The Bully Prevention Program has been great for my kids, it taught them how to communicate and how to de escalate a situation in an assertive respectful manner. This program helped my daughter regain her self esteem and has helped my son escape tight situations. I take the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class which not only teaches me something new but is great exercise.

Sami and all the people at this gym I feel have your back, I feel safe and I'm learning so much so fast! Unity, teamwork, healing, learning, growing!

I've taken several self defense classes at other locations in the past.... I've never learned this much and such good, practical techniques! Great group of people too!

Well, this place is addicting! I started out taking women's self-defense, but now also come to Muay Thai and nogi open mats. I was a bit nervous at first with no prior martial arts experience.... but everyone here is friendly and supportive. It really feels like family, and I look forward to coming any chance I get. We get world-class instruction from Coach Sami. He truly cares about each person here. The kids classes are fantastic - I love that my kids are learning self-defense but also confidence and discipline. You won't find this level of instruction at such a great price. Honestly, it's priceless to me.

Fun and family atmosphere with Great coaching and Great training.

I've been training here off and on for years now I've seen this place change so much. Coach Sami has completely redone the gym and it all around has a much better vibe. Cleaned every night after class. The coaching is excellent for adults and kids. I highly recommend this place.

I have been going to Columbus MMA/Caique Jiu-Jitsu for a little over a year on and off. It's a great place to train and is the best training I have ever had. Coach Sami is an awesome instructor who truly cares about your progression not only in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu but in life as well. The price is unbeatable, especially when your instructor earned his black belt directly from Master Caique.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Columbus MAA. We are treated like family; the instructors are thorough, knowledgeable, and Coach Sami and Ryan are exceptional role models for my daughter.

I began coming to CMAA just to sit and watch, and see what jiu jitsu is all about. Then I decided I needed to get a little exercise. I end up falling in love with jujitsu. I really enjoy the atmosphere, everyone is really cool and everybody works together and learns together at their own pace no matter what color belt they are. Our instructor teaches us that we're all on the same team so we all learn together as a team. He is definitely a down-to-earth person and creates a good atmosphere of learning. I'm a slow learner so he has lots of patience with me.. thank goodness, LOL. It's so awesome to be part if something big as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu , I just realized that I've been coming for about a year now and didn't even realize it.... I love it!!!!!

Going into the program I knew very little about Muay Thai or Jiu-Jitsu and wasn't exactly sure if i wanted to dedicate the time and energy for it. After attending my first few practices I found that the low pressure start from the basics and work your way up approach gave me the time to get in shape and to build a strong base of skills from the personal training I received from Coach Sami Sulieman and Couch Stephen Kimes.

I have to say that I'm in one of the best physical shapes I've ever been in and as gooberish as it sounds I feel a lot more confident in my daily life. if you're in the market I can at least suggest these guys for a solid experience at a relatively low cost as well.

The teacher, the students and the environment of this school are second to none. I find it to be a great advantage to have a group of people who are open to concepts and dialogue. The students are very adept in helping to break out of ones comfort zone and into new ideas of learning and understanding. The group as a whole works in a mutualistic fashion that benefits everybody. They offer ample opportunities for open mat sessions and practice.

At CMAA you'll find a professional and knowledgeable staff dedicated to the safety, development, and growth of every individual. New members can expect to join a positive culture of recognition and fun while working for those hard-earned stripes!

Great MMA school. Instructors are very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.. Family oriented and genuinely care about you and your progress. No chest pumping or I'm better than you attitude. Whether you are a white belt or black belt in BJJ.Or a novice Muay Thai practitioner or been doing it for yrs. Everyone is treated equally and with reapect..

Amazing place! The instructors make you feel accepted and are very knowledgeable. Very comfortable and inviting environment. It's a 5/5 for me!

Absolutely love the staff here. My son has excelled in many ways all thanks to the hard working staff. They are very dedicated, and work well with children.

Its a lot of fun the instructors are great. I do MuayThai, Brazilian Jiu jitsu (kids and adult), and Kick Boxing they're all great.
