Academy Sports + Outdoors

One of my favorite sporting goods store to shop at. Can always count on them having stock on the things needed during hunting, football and basketball season.

Angela at the customer service desk was simply amazing! I hope this review reaches someone to give her the credit she deserves. She helped us with some issues we were having without hesitation despite the store being crowded with everyone Christmas shopping. Keep up the great work!!!

I have visited every store in Austin multiple times over my 23 years living there. Last week was my first time visiting the Bastrop location, and it was the most pleasant Academy experience by far. The store was very well kept, everything seemed very neat & orderly on my walk through the store to the gun counter. I was immediately impressed as their gun counter was well stocked, and the associate greeted me & offered help straight away. He was knowledgeable, and very efficient. That was, by far, the quickest firearm purchase I have ever made at an Academy or any store really. I have my TX LTC which speeds up the process a bit, but, never has a purchase gone so smoothly. In & out the door with exactly what I walked in intending to purchase within 30 minutes tops. I will be visiting the Bastrop Academy location from now on!

Jeffrey from the firearms department went above and beyond to help us fix our S&W EZ Shield weapon and make it usable. He could have just turned us away but he was very kind and had patience. Thank you Jeff! We will always come to this location for now on!

This is a great Academy for Hunters, Outdoorsmen, and Athletes. The Archery section was sold out of Recurve Bows, but maybe that's because it wasafew days befoee Christmas.

I like that Academy always has an employee to greet me at the door & help direct me. This store is clean & usually in order. I was disappointed however that the stock was low in supply for the item I needed. A sport mouth guard. Mostly empty spaces where the item would be.

Found exactly what I needed with the help of a salesperson. Prices are a bit high. But when you can't find it anywhere else. What are you to do.

I'm very picky about where I spend my hard earned $! I don't usually hesitate to return things. Bought my first Yeti, I was disappointed! Austin helped me with my return. He's helped me several times before, and always does well. They have strict policies about a return like this, but he was professional and we got it done. Thank you for your regular support as always!

Hands down the best sporting goods store I’ve ever entered, they truly have it all. I only visited in search of new work boots as a last resort and was surprised with the selection of footwear available. Also as an avid firearms enthusiast from out of state where the sport is highly regulated it was nice to see fully stocked shelves of ammo, magazines, clips and every accessory you could think of. Academy Sports + Outdoors just gained a customer for life.

The firearms and ammunition shortages are a thing of the past. This location is fully stocked. It is beautiful and the prices can't be beat! Especially since they will beat the competition's price. How can anyone do better than that!

Went in just to look around, but I can't go in there without buying my San Antonio Spurs gear, and i found some great stuff as usual, i Love this place.

Did an exchange and Staff was wonderful, store is clean and found the correct product I was needing in the right size . Thumb up all the way around !!

Had an amazing shopping experience yesterday. I can never find shoes and almost always have to look in men's for the right size and durability. Most times I feel self conscious when sales people approach to help because I worry they will point me to the women's section. Not here Diane came up helped me find the right size pulled boxes down made sure I had a good shoe for what I needed and was the most pleasant person I have ever met in retail. She was working so hard to help me and other customers get what they needed and truly made for the best experience.

Love this sports and fishing g store, have everything you need for re recreation and nice clothing and shoes, nice e prices.

I bought a timer for a deer feeder that we use for chicken scratch. There were several to choose from all fairly priced. I got what I needed and got out

Academies in general are fairly clean stores,but this one is the cleanest ,most organized on I've seen. They have anything you need for fishing ,usually at a low price. Knowledgeable staff always friendly and eager to help

My son was looking for a pair of shoes and he found some

Aaron, in the shoe department went above and beyond in helping me.
It was like 3 weeks ago and I wanted a pair of Sketchers walking shoes and saw on the website there was only pair left. I couldn't find them. Here comes Aaron to the rescue! He searched and searched, went up and down the ladder, and low and behold he found them!!! I wanted to hug him but didn't think that would be appropriate this day and age. I told him what a great, great man he is and that he really made my day!!!
Please let Aaron know that I will always remember him for being so dang great!!!
