Saltaire Market

For the given situation of a grocery store on Fire Island I feel that the quality is amazing. However I give the customer base of saltaire 1 out of 5 stars. They walk in and feel it’s appropriate to talk down to the employees. It’s like the world revolves around them. If you feel it’s appropriate to talk down to a 17 year old seasonal worker you should probably seek therapy.

beer - and the prices are not unreasonable.

All essentials, good selection of healthy/organic options, great storemade bread and prepared food. Also great for catering.

Love the music and all the cool, polite kids working at the market. The food is delish. Quacamole is stellar! Cold brew is intense.

Excellent market. The prepared food and take out is best I’ve had on fire island. Store is well stocked and staff are helpful.

Great selection of fresh produce and homemade sourdough bread.

Best grocery on the west end of Fire Island, plus a great wine and liquor store and take-out. Worth a trip from Kismet, Fair Harbor, or Lonelyville.

Run by the Whitney family for over 30 years in conjunction with the Kismet and Fair Harbor stores. Damaged by SuperStorm Sandy and closed for over a year, but we are hopeful to be back in a brand new market in 2015. Follow us on Facebook for updates and re-opening news!

Best market on Fire Island… and it’s not even close! I live in Ocean Beach and go here occasionally.

Best prepared food you can imagine and the produce is always fresh and amazing.

They offer a very wide selection of groceries. A lot more then I excepted the first time I went there.

Beats the market in Fair Harbor.
