Swell Taco

The atmosphere gets 2 stars because the music is so loud that you can't have a conversation. Maybe they keep it loud to you get out of there quicker because there's always a wait of 45 minutes or more. Sad because we've been coming here since 2013, when you could sit and enjoy a meal without ear damage. :(

I really love this place! The food is always really delicious (& amazing for the price because it’s so affordable). The service is slow sometimes but only because they get really busy on weekend nights - not their fault!
The bathrooms are always really dirty and the women’s one doesn’t even have lights in it, but the food is good enough to keep all 5 stars.

Swell Taco did our taco truck for our wedding, it was hit! Everyone could not stop talking about how much they loved the tacos.
They were also so easy to work with, responsive and helpful. Much needed when planning a wedding.

I love swell taco, but we had to wait like an hour on Thursday night. I had a few beers while we waited, I noticed a People linger at their tables for a long time after they’re done with their meals. For example, the table next to us had four guys talking for hours they were there the entire time we were waiting my wife and I ate our meals and we’re done, and they were still at their table. They should put a time limit on how long you linger . That’s why the wait there is always so long.

Because tacos are pretty much my favorite food of all time, I’ve been dying to try Swell Taco in Babylon for as long it’s been open. I finally got the opportunity on Friday 3/23/18 and it was well worth the wait! In fact, I’m mad at myself for not getting to this place sooner!!
I went with a group of about 12 guys from work and although they had to break our group into 3 separate tables, we were just happy to be seated as soon as we walked in and not have to wait for a table because we had less than an hour to get back to work. We told our waitress we were in a rush and she took good care of us. She put our order in right away and dropped our checks right after our meals came out so that we could just leave as soon as we were finished eating.
The chips and salsa verde that they put on the table was a great snack to nosh on while we waited for our tacos. The chips came out fresh and warm and the salsa verde was very flavorful. I could tell that they were both made fresh in house that day.
For my tacos, I ordered one of each: a pork carnitas taco, a ground beef taco and a fish taco. The pork carnitas was filled with shredded pork, more of that excellent salsa verde, cheddar and pickled red onions, which I love on tacos. This was my favorite taco out of the three. The ground beef taco was the closest to a traditional taco and was loaded with seasoned ground beef, lettuce, cheddar and pico de gallo. I love regular ground beef tacos and this one was one of the best I’ve had. The fish taco was the one I was most excited to try. I used to make killer fish tacos at a clam bar that I used to work at in Sayville and I’ve been searching for fish tacos that can compare to the ones I used to pump out. I have to say, the chef at Swell Taco might’ve possibly taken his inspiration for this fish taco from my fish taco because it was as close as I’ve ever tasted it. The mahi mahi was fresh and delicious and the chipotle mayo on top of the lettuce, cheddar and salsa brought gave it a creamy spicy bite. Not better than mine, but definitely pretty close.
I now know that I made a mistake by waiting so long to try out Swell Taco. I won’t make that mistake again. I’ll be back before you know it!

We loveeee swell taco! The food and drinks are always amazing and the staff works quickly and are very nice! This is our go-to date night spot!

My boyfriend and I got drinks and burritos here on July 8th, 2022. There was a bit of a wait, but the food was delicious, drinks were strong, and the service was fast and friendly. Definitely good vibes.

Best taco spot on Long Island and great prices. It’s my go to spot every time I’m back on the island. Must try!

Good vibes, very relaxed environment. The food is consistently great! Food comes out quickly and they serve chips and salsa complimentary. Must trys: Pulled pork (carnitas) nachos=insanely tasty & the churros (made in house)!

Tasty tacos. Creamy guacamole. Brought us sangria with PAPER STRAWS THAT HAD TURTLES ON THEM. The ambiance was great and the staff was attentive and oh so friendly. Place is worthy of a 5 star review and your business!!

Absolute favorite place for tacos ! they have a mahi mahi special taco sometimes, and it’s absolutely to die for. but you honestly can’t go wrong with anything in their menu. Another favorite is the crunch munch. Sangria is always good and they have a good selection of beers. Guac is another must. You honestly won’t be disappointed with anything you order. The prices and vibe are great as well.

It's a great spot for tacos and hanging with your friends. Be sure to adjust for about 2hrs of being here depending on time of day. Tacos are all made to order at this restaurant. So depending on how busy things are and how large of an order is in, have some drinks and relax. There are two special days to come in for the hidden tacos which are Mondays and Thursdays as an FYI.
