A hidden gem in Salinas! Tons of fresh fruit, fresh veggies, a selection of cold items (eggs, milk, ice cream), and homemade jellies/jams. On Fridays, fresh seafood is available. Owner is very friendly and helpful. Very happy with the items sold here.

Best place around to buy fruit. It’s a cozy and classic feel to buying groceries. Joe and his crew make you feel like a valued customer. Lots of samples to get you hooked on new kinds of fruits. Lots of care is taken here to have high quality fruits available. Love this place! The papaya mango salsa is the best salsa I’ve ever tasted. Treat yourself to good produce!

The produce here is gorgeous and fresh. Wonderful options for organic as well. Joe is very kind; there was a price misunderstanding when he rung up my bill but he quickly resolved the issue. Adding to that, he offered me an abundance of delicious samples and cut up my fresh pineapple for me. He also sent me off with some extra items as a first-time customer. I love supporting small food businesses, especially when the produce quality is superior to what I'd find at the store. I plan on returning and making this one of my regular grocery shopping spots. Incredible new find! Just met Joe at Windmill produce. We had no expectations. Just kinda wandered in and now I know it will be a regular stop. Everything we tasted was better than anything you can get at even farmers market. Fresh guacamole and mango papaya salsa too. If you like fruit and veggies, you have to stop in.

We love this place! Joe and his crew do such a great job and alway have the best produce. We come about once a week to stock up on fresh fruit and other goodies.

…but please post the prices and organic status clearly near/on the items so we know what to expect.

First couple of visits the totals seemed reasonably competitive and everything was great quality so I stopped back.

My last visit on 7/20, the total was double what I expected, and I asked for my receipt for the first time. It included the item type and total, so I did the math myself. I paid $7.98 for a small bag (1.5 lbs) of mini new potatoes, just under $3 each for 3 average sized nectarines, and $2 each for 2 small avocados.

Even if they were organic and blessed by the pope, that’s more than I can spend, but maybe not for others.

It’s a hard time to be starting a small business, especially with perishables. High end restaurants ($30/plate) upwards would love this prime, ready to eat produce.
