I have driven past Ottos Cheese Shop countless times, always intrigued by its charming storefront signage. Today, I finally decided to follow my instincts and step inside. And boy, am I glad I did!

The store lived up to its website's enticing pictures, with a gorgeous and inviting atmosphere. The selection of cheeses was truly impressive, and what made it even better was the warm and welcoming feel of the place. It instantly put me at ease and made me feel comfortable asking about the different types of cheeses.

With so many options to choose from, I initially felt a bit overwhelmed. However, the staff's attention and patience were exceptional. They listened to my preferences and helped me find exactly what I was looking for - a Texas-made Muenster cheese with a hint of smokiness. It was a delightful surprise and solidified Ottos Cheese Shop as my go-to place for all future cheese adventures.

To top off the experience, I received advice on a local wine that perfectly complemented my cheese selection. It was sweet and truly enhanced the flavors. When I woke up from my cheese-induced dream, I found myself already savoring the second half of my glass, knowing that I would recommend Ottos Cheese Shop to everyone I know in New Braunfels.

From pricing and presentation to the personable interactions and general vibe, Ottos Cheese Shop has nailed it. They even offer free samples and provide excellent pairing advice. I highly recommend paying them a visit - you won't be disappointed!

We just found Otto's a few days ago on our way to the Plant Haus so I made the trip back into town just to visit this locally owned small business, and of course... for some cheese. The owners were very friendly and the selection of cheeses, meats, and wines were great! New Braunfels needs to support businesses like this that capture the European heritage that makes this town unique and vibrant.

What a gem of a place! Otto’s is the best cheese shop around, they offer a wonderful fresh variety of all our families favorite cheeses & chocolates and the perfect condiments. The boards are gorgeous and creative, but mostly delicious additions to any gathering and the baguettes are the best bread in Tx. We love the variety of crackers, mustards, jellies, compotes and spreads available that you don’t find everywhere, we have enjoyed everything we have tried!

We just found Otto's and really liked it. The people are very nice, and the Cambozola Black cheese was incredible! We will go back soon!

We have been in search of a cheese with "crystals" as really enjoy the extra little crunch they add. Otto's understood exactly what we were looking for and offered several tastes so we could choose the one(s) that we liked the best. Definiately a neighborhood gem!

Absolutely adorable shop, owners are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Can’t wait to try out ALL of the cheeses!!! They have a great wine/beer selection, delicious pairings and openly share fabulous combinations. Shop local!!!

Ottos is the best. I have purchased multiple pre-made boxes, which are always a hit with my friends and family. I also love popping by the shop to try new cheeses, meats, olives, anything and everything you need for a gathering. I attached a photo here of a gorgeous spread ottos helped me with for 100 people! Give them a call- they will get you everything you need!

Just stopped in on my way home and was pleasantly surprised. This is a cute little shop with a good variety and selection of cheeses, wines, crackers, jams, and chocolates! (To name a few)
The associate who helped me was very knowledgeable about the products and made recommendations of cheese and wine, as well as type of cracker that would go best Based off of my preferences. My husband and I have very different preferences when it comes to cheeses and she was able to recommend a cheese that we would both like almost immediately. It was great! Some reviews mention a higher price, but you can order very nice cheeses in increments of fractions of a pound, they also let you sample cheeses so you know exactly what you're getting before buying. Yes, they're a little bit more expensive than what you may find in the pre-sliced section of HEB, but I feel that the prices are comparable to the more gourmet section of HEB. If you're going to compare prices, make sure we're comparing apples to apples. Again, excellent selection and products and we will definitely be stopping in again! Thank you!

My wife and I made a trip here and were pleasantly greeted by the staff right away. They were so helpful and the VAST selection for a little shop amazed me. We walked out with delicious cheeses, wine and AMAZING mustard. A MUST visit if you like charcuterie!

Otto's has an excellent selection of high-quality cheeses from around the world, including some rare and unique varieties. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, offering helpful recommendations and samples to try. The shop is very clean and well-organized. Overall, a great experience for any cheese lover.

I thought I would try them out. Cool place! The girl serving us was really helpful and the cheese we got was really gooooood! Cute place, and it was set up nicely. They were busy and rocking when we went, and were taking care of everyone. It has a cool vibe and we will be back. We got a great wine there too.

It is a delightful place that can cater to specific taste. I walked in with a limited knowledge about cheese, and I was warmly greeted. I described what I like in flavor and was shown a great selection. My wife was happy as I came home with some great cheese and a bottle of wine. It was all thanks to them. Cute little shop that I need to make a trip to again. Couple of people that asked right away if I needed help with something. Offered samples of cheeses for me and my daughter to try. The gentleman that assisted me gave me foods and desserts to pair with the cheeses I selected. Definitely give them a go!

What a great experience. I described a fave I buy at the supermarket and a recommendation was made that was perfect. I look forward to another visit soon and trying some cheeses I haven't tasted before.

Great shop! I am glad we stopped by when we were in the area. Not an overwhelming variety of cheese, but good enough. Great owners (?) or workers.. they give you a lot of attention and are very friendly. We pickled up a good variety of cheese and even bought some interesting cookies (that good well with cheese) and some apple & maple syrup that goes well with cheese :)
