Awesome shop , super helpful staff! Answered all my questions without trying to sell me a million things. I’ve only been in 2 times and 2 different employees treated me like a $1k customer when I was just getting something small. Great selection and price on everything from rods and waders to tying materials from what I’ve seen. Will be back definitely

This is a great little fly shop. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I am brand new to fly fishing and know very little about the hobby. Everyone in the shop was eager to help and guide me in the right direction. They never make you feel like they're too busy for you. The only time they are behind the sales counter is when they're ringing up your sale. Love it.

First time fly fishing this past week. Started with a great lesson by Peter. Next day I was out on my own catching fish. Cannot recommend the lessons and this fly shop enough! Stop by and you will be well taken care of!!

Very helpful in making sure I was set up for my first-ish time fly fishing. Caught dinner on my second day! I’ll definitely be coming back.

Peter was very engaging and respectful of my 6yo fly angler, answering his questions and even giving him a casting lesson tailored to a young person’s abilities and understandings—very fun and engaging. This will be our shop in the Bend area forever more.

There are a lot of fly shops in town, but this is the go to! Super knowledgeable and friendly service. Staff is full of knowledge on gear, techniques, tying, and of course where and how to catch fish:) All equipment and flies are high quality and very fair prices. Will add that while some of the big box stores were out of certain tying materials, Patient Angler had them in stock and knew what was always ahead of the game on getting resupplied.

My favorite fly shop in bend. A friend recommended them to me, and it seems he was right about them. Down to earth staff and there to help with most anything. They helped to recommend some streamers/flies for me, and set up my reel with a new line and tippet. Thanks for your help and advice!

The customer service here is five-star every time I stop in. Peter and crew work hard to treat their customers with attentiveness and respect. This whether I am buying 2-3 flies, a beginner rod, or just getting the latest reports. Their consistent relationship building brings me here, exclusively.

Good selection of flies but limited compared to some other shops in town; all the essentials and then some, just not every color and size under the sun.

Experienced staff happily will get a beginner started or a seasoned amature stocked. A definite go to for any local or visiting fly fisher.

Brought in my rod to show off to Josh and Ben and they were happy to teach me how to get jiggy with it. They showed me some flies that these trout slap harder than Will Smith at the Oscars. Picked out some Fresh Prince nymphs, got some streamers to fish, and realized it’s all in the hips! Tight lines boys!

The Patient Angler is an excellent full service fly shop. The owner, Peter Bower, and his two employees, Bob Coltrane and Caleb Reider, are knowledgeable, experienced and courteous individuals who are pleasant to deal with. All are good fly tiers, and the shop has a complete line of materials and tools. They are not hard sell and answer all of your questions regarding gear, fly tying and angling locations. I shop here at least twice monthly..

Peter and the younger gentlemen that works here are great! Super knowledgeable and friendly. As new a fly fisherman I had no idea what to start with, they made recommendations that ultimately landed me some great fish! Highly recommended this shop.

Just got off the phone with Will and this shop could not have been more helpful. Truly appreciate the insight for my upcoming trip to the Lower Deschutes. Wasn't rushed off the phone and even though Will knew my trip would not be taking me through Bend, he was very patient and thorough in his responses. I will definitely stop by this shop one day.

Best fly shop in Bend, its where the local's go... Always helpful and get you set up so you can spend more time on the water. Can't say enough about the customer service, they aren't in it just to make a buck but truly care about getting you out enjoying fishing at every level. Thanks Guys!

Not the fanciest shop in town, been going there for ten years and Peter and his crew have always helped me to fish better. Tthey have all the gear you need and for fly tying as well.Up to date info on whats happening in our neck off the woods.

I like fly shops that leave pretense outside the door. Patient Angler is a very relaxed and welcoming place like your fly fishing Grandfather would love to visit. These guys are great for the image of the entire sport.

Stay is friendly and knowledgeable. They have helped me in my learning process as a newbie to the sport of fly fishing. I have recommended them to friends and family on several occasions.

My husband and I really appreciated Peter's time and, yes, patience today when we took fly fishing 101 with him. I hope that this is the start of a new way of seeing rivers, bugs, and fish!

Great friendly fly shop Peter and Caleb are verry helpful with where to fish and what to use. If you are in to tying your own flys they have all that you will need.
