Skein & Tipple

As a traveler I love finding gems in far away towns Skein & Tipple was a treasure trove of gems for me! From every perfectly prepared cocktail to the gorgeous hand dyed yarns perfectly spread and picked with me to create a most wonderful gift.
One of my best friends lives there on the island, she took me to Skein & Tipple. (twice haha) A place where you see friendly faces and songs of times gone by. If you are yourself a traveler passing through, don't miss this gem. Also don't go too late you may miss all that Skein & Tipple has to offer.

Great craft cocktails! I would say Daphnes in Edmonds has been one upped! Important note, this a yarn store by day, cocktails by 5p. They have an excellent selection of drinks to pick from, truly something for everyone. There are a few small bites available until the sell out. Be warned this place is small (~20 people) and you might have to wait in line until people leave. Coming with two people might help you move up the queue due to the smaller table sizes. This is a 2-3 person operation, host, server and bartender, they have their system down, but I could see this being hard if someone is out sick or just plain old having an off day.

A must stop for yarn or wonderful craft cocktails. I honestly am not big into mixed drinks , but this man makes an amazing drink in an awesome little spot. The only late night option on the south end. But it gets full quick so prepare to wait.

This is my new favorite place on the island! Adorable small spot with great craft cocktails and sweet husband-wife owner duo. The bourbon-based “scofflaw” is amazing. And they have really nice glasses. 🍸

One of those magical places Whidbey Island is known for! A yarn shop with the most beautifully curated speakeasy boasting hand crafted cocktails (both historic and modern) and live music. For the non drinker, many many drink options (also handcrafted) and their cheese plates come with a gf cracker option. So well done! Three drink maximum and a quiet atmosphere keeps the ambience and classic and intimate.

I went for the yarn, sadly couldn't stay for the drinks, but the owner is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about what she does. The yarn shop is adorable and I enjoy everything about this place 😊

Folks, I'm not here for the yarn. It's so tempting to want to hide Skein and Tipple so that I can get a seat, but the truth is that standing in line for this gem is half the fun. Former bartender here and genuinely can't say that I have EVER IN MY LIFE had cocktails of this caliber. The speakeasy atmosphere is extremely cozy and fun, mellow live music to elevate the mood, but man oh man, that alchemist behind the bar. Recommendations? Blood and Sand, Murder Hornet, Penicillin. You're welcome.

By day: Beautiful yarns mostly hand dyed by the proprietor.

By night: Great craft cocktails in an intimate setting.

I am a fan of both.

They have a small but lovely selection of locally dyed yarns. I had just a dram of time to pop into this lovely little shop in the early afternoon, hoping to find a color to match a project yarn, not knowing what I was looking for, but hoping I'd know it when I saw it. I think one of the owners, Marsha (but I'm terrible with names, so if that's a little off, you have my sincere apologies) was able to understand my need, gave a plethora of excellent suggestions, and helped me pick out just a wonderful yarn--sometimes simple is best.

I hope to come back with my fiber artist friends and enjoy the Tipple part of this gem of a shop.

From the first second of the meeting till the last drop of my cocktail, it was a complete joy. The style, conversation, atmosphere, and of course perfectly mixed cocktails make this place very special. Penicillin simply blew my mind and Blackberry Manhattan was a silky recovery.

This review is long overdue but I play at Skein and Tipple and the owners are literally the best! They have been such an influential part of my music career and always will be! I love everything about playing there, from the people to the amazing drinks!!! It’s never ever a bad time there! You’ve got to come and check them out because words won’t do this place justice!!

Skein and Tipple is a unique experience serving craft cocktails with a nostalgic atmosphere of days gone by. Marsha and Matt the owners did all the work themselves renovating this beautiful new nightclub. We were the first ones there this evening and they were very personable and told us the whole story about the bar. Such a treat! The drinks are fantastic I don't think I've had a better cocktail anywhere. If you are visiting Whidbey Island you must visit. Oh I forgot to mention they have live music every night! And it's really good.

Great place !! Wife bought a few skeins of yarn - then had a few great cocktails. Love the staff, and the drinks were spot on. Live entertainment was a great plus too! Recommend, and we will be back!

Wonderful spot open late making some of best craft cocktails you have ever had.

What a CUTE place! The yarn store is great with super high quality yarn that Marsha does a great job with and then the bar in the back is outstanding. Perfectly mixed crafts cocktails (try the Whidbey Bramble, it's wonderful) by Matt and the coziest of settings. Would recommend anyone swing by, even do a walk-on from the ferry in Mukilteo and grab a drink and look around. Well done, Marsha & Matt!

Marsha is the absolute best! The store is beautiful, the fiber is gorgeously dyed, and I am really looking forward to craft cocktails! I am so thankful for all the advice, knowledge, and help that I get when going to Skein and Tipple. So excited to have them here!!

What a wonderful shop. The hand-dyed yarns are so beautiful and yummy, I found it hard not to buy some of everything. The owners are so helpful and friendly. I can't wait for the Tipple party of the business to open. I have it on good authority that his cocktails are amazing.
