Great book selection. Very nice space. Lovely art. I'm glad they got an sidewalk sign because the storefront is hard to notice from the Capitol Square. Right across Hamilton Street by the Children's Museum. Down the block from the Bradbury Cafe. You can sell books for store credit too. I love my logo tote and logo mug.

We enjoyed finding Lake City Books while in downtown. It’s a nice bookstore with a good selection of local authors. We were so happy to find Secret Wisconsin: A Guide To The Weird, Wonderful, Ans Obscure.

One of our favorite bookstores in Madison! We first discovered this place during a SoFar Sounds concert, and have been back over and over! It’s a smaller space, but tons of variety and the owner is sometimes there as well and loves to chat about books with anyone who is there. We also love that they accept gently used books for credit and sell used books alongside the new books as well.

Most recently, I was gift shopping for a book lover in my life and called the store to ask for recommendations, we chatted for a while about what my partner liked, didn’t like, genres, and more before she recommended two books that my partner was super excited about when she opened them!

We’ll continue to come back over and over. They’ve found some lifetime customers!

Lake City Books is a lovely store with a neighborhood feel. They have a great selection of children's books and many adult titles as well. I was able to order 2 books they didn't have and I had them in a few days. LCB is a great addition to downtown!

Lake City Books is the best new addition to Downtown Madison! It’s a bright and colorful space across the street from the children’s museum, perfect to peruse while walking around the square. Molly, the owner, made some thoughtful recommendations for my wife and me for our next vacation reads. An amazing children’s section too! This is the kind of small business I love to support. Make sure to stop by!

Incredible selection and very easy-to-follow layout of the entire store. Both Susan and Molly were knowledgeable ( expected), friendly (of course, we were in Madison!), and efficient. We'll definitely be back.

I was so excited to learn a local bookstore opened by the square! On my first visit today I spent more than I intended...but their selection is amazing! I found a favorite Japanese author. If you haven't read Before the Coffee Gets Cold, now is the time! Lake City Books--Welcome to the neighborhood! We've been waiting for you!!

What a fantastic book store! We dropped in on a whim and both walked out with several new books in tow. We also had a nice chat with the owner. We'll absolutely be back to grab some more books for my TBR!

I visited this book store while visiting from out of town. The store is beautiful, with an open, warm, and welcoming atmosphere. Great selection of new and used books. The owner was friendly and knowledgeable of her selection and eager to help me locate the book I was looking for. I even snagged a cute tote bag as a souvenir! Highly recommend!

I absolutely adore this bookstore! I’ve been many times since their opening and appreciate the thought that went into the layout of this store to make it so cozy! They always have a great selection and if there’s something not there they’ve been so accommodating as to put holds for you and send text updates once they arrive! Has become a integral part of the community and one of my favorite places in Madison!

A wonderfully curated bookstore in the heart of downtown Madison. Lake City Books is cheerful, filled with thoughtful touches, and I always find something to add to my TBR pile. I also love that they sell used editions alongside new books, and the owner, Molly, is warm, welcoming, and wonderful.

I love Lake City books. I love local independent bookstores. And we've got some great ones around here. And to be completely honest when Lake City books was opening I wasn't sure we needed another one. But after having been there several times I am so so glad they are here. This is definitely what we needed. I can't say enough how well curated the book collection is there. I'll go in with a list and forget I even brought a list because just looking at the shelves almost everything I see is either a book I've read and love or a book already on my TBR or when I read a jacket It immediately becomes a book to add to my TBR. This is such a wonderful bookstore and I'm so glad we have it in our town

Super cute bookstore with lots of fun goodies and the fantasy section must have been picked out specifically for me because it has everything on my list!!

We attended the grand opening of this great new book store today and I was very impressed. A wide selection of books for a relatively small space and the owner was very friendly. I definitely will be back, especially on Farmers' Market Saturdays.

I'm so excited that Lake City Books is here! This store is filling a much needed hole left by A Room of One's Own. They have a great selection of new and used which I love.
