Alonso's Cafe

OMG!! I almost don’t want to write this review to keep this best kept secret coffee shop a hidden gem!! Alonso’s is a small coffee shop in Garwood that has AMAZING coffee, atmosphere, and owners!!! Their lattes are so good, you are going to keep wanting to go back and order from them!!! 5 out of 5 stars (wish I could give them more than 5!) hands down!!

I recently started visiting Alonso’s and have to say that I’m quite impressed with it. First of all, its interior is adorable and cozy; it feels like stepping into a friend’s house. Secondly, the staff (who I think might be the owners?) are very warm and friendly. Lastly, their coffee tastes so fresh and smooth! I loved their flat white & toasted marshmallow latte. I’ve lived around this area for the majority of my life and definitely think Garwood needed a small & high quality coffee shop like this. I can’t wait to continue coming here!

Such a great addition to the Garwood area! They have house-made syrups, good coffee and it’s so cute inside! The staff/owners were INCREDIBLY friendly and so kind. They had the biggest smiles on their faces and it was contagious! Will definitely be back :)

Stopped by this place for the first time today and I will certainly be back! Excellent coffee and super friendly service. We ordered the seasonal honey vanilla latte (iced) with almond milk and it tasted like fall!! So delish. We also got the cheddar biscuit warmed up - very good!

My new favorite coffee shop in the area! The coffee and espresso drinks are great! Their seasonal menu has been awesome. They have alternative milk options. The baked goods are on point. I highly recommend Alonso’s!

Such a cute place. I love the colors and how cozy it feels! And the staff/owners were so kind and friendly. I ordered an iced caramel oat latte and the owner asked if I wanted the caramel drizzle bc it has dairy. I’ve never been asked that before and it just made me so happy she asked. Def my new go to AND I love that I can walk to it from home.

With each visit I like this place even more. A beautiful setting that is really nice to sit and relax. Accommodating owners serving me great coffee " pour over " style. Delicious small treats and pastries. Several different origins of coffee available. In the near future look forward to trying some empanadas also. The best coffee shop in the Westfield, Cranford, Garwood, Roselle area. I wouldn't travel 20 to 25 minutes if it wasn't. Also a great selection of lattes!!

Absolutely adorable coffee shop. Their cold brew was outstanding! They even had options for the level of sweetness. Not to mention their staff were so welcoming and kind. Definitely will be coming back to try more of the menu!

A little bit more detail you say? A brilliant assemblage of quality traditional tools, in conjunction with excellent nuanced ingredients, and fantastic pride in craft, Alonso’s is just epic. I cannot say enough about how wonderful of an experience is offered. Please visit!

I came here because I have never seen a cafe with 5 stars with more than 1-10 reviews. This one has 64 of them with not a single bad one.
Friendly relaxed service and great coffee in a clean, light space. Everything a cafe should be!

Go to spot for coffee since they opened. Friendly service and coffee is delicious. Pretty sure beans are roasted in New Jersey, so really like that the owners stay local instead of shipping from, let’s just say…Seattle. Give the place a shot if you’re in the area!

I moved here a little over 2 years ago and have been wishing for a cafe in walking distance with good coffee. Well this place has GREAT coffee and even better people. The owners have created a welcoming space and are not only making delicious coffee, but are personable and take the time to chat. So excited Alonso’s has come to the neighborhood!

The owners were extremely friendly. The quality of the drinks were excellent. The espresso shot in my flat white was very good and the texture of the oat milk was on point. I'd definitely come back again!

MY FAVORITE PLACE! Amazing coffee options made my even more amazing people! Yummy pastries available too that go great with the coffee. If I could give 100 stars I would!

Coffee is wonderful, best in the area, people working are so nice, I came here with my baby and the man working even offered to hold the door so I could get my stroller out! Will definitely be back.
